'Can you understand me, boy?'

The child continued staring at him before slowly nodding.

'Interesting. Why don't we go to see the Supreme Kai then? I'm sure he'll be interested to know that.'

The child stayed mute as he looked at Kibito with a dazed look.

I was really and truly in the Dragon Ball universe. We were going to see the Supreme Kai! Overcoming my shock I was perplexed as I was carried away. Why wasn't I on Earth? What year was it? How did I end up on the Sacred World of the Kai?

'Supreme Kai. The child speaks.'

'Oh? That's a surprise. Being born with such intelligence is not a trait of the mortal races. How strange.'

Shin made his way towards Kibito and the child.

'Well, let's hear you say something then.'

The child's red eyes landed on him.

'Shin.'

'How is it you know my name child? Kibito addresses me only as Supreme Kai. Why don't you tell me how you came across such knowledge.'

I held his gaze and without hesitation, I shrugged my shoulders.

'Don't know.'

Shin looked at him skeptically.

'Well if you can't explain I guess we'll leave that for now. Why don't you tell me what you do know?'

'Before that tell me. What year is it?'

'You wish to know the year? On what planet child?'

'Earth.'

'Kibito?'

'Just a moment.'

Kibito closed his eyes for a few seconds before answering.

'On the planet Earth, it is the age 740.'

Age 740. If memory serves Goku was born in 736 or 737. He should be on Earth by now.

'I see. Thank you. I don't know how I know the things I do but I feel I must go to earth soon. Before that, I wish to learn more about this universe and the beings that reside in it. If you would be so kind as to teach me.'

Shin looked at the child helplessly. He just had more questions and no answers. For now, he would humor the child.

'Sure. We'll discuss the matter tomorrow. For now child...ah. You don't happen to have a name of your own, do you?

I shook my head.

'Hmm, in that case, I'll give you a name. How about Rei?'

Rei. Simple enough. I liked it.

'Rei is good. Thank you, Supreme Kai.'

'You're quite welcome Rei. As I was saying, Rest for now we can continue this conversation tomorrow.'

With that Kibito carried me back to my bed before leaving, closing the door behind him. I lay there and gave a sigh of relief. I had a better grasp on my current situation. Now it was time to plan for the future.
