23 Chapter Twenty-One

I awoke to silence.

My time here with Gohan had left this entire region of the land free of any beasts.

'RoBro. How long?'

[4 Years 2 Months]

'Damn. Beerus should already be awake.'

I looked to Earth and saw the peace. Gohan was with his family and all seemed well.

'So he hasn't arrived yet.'

I turned my focus to myself. I felt the unparalleled power within me. I clenched my fist.

I could feel the difference I went through. My body had fully assimilated the power of Jiren and Ultra Instinct.

I knew intuitively. I was strong. Stronger than even Beerus.

Before long, Beerus would go to Earth in search of the Super Saiyan God.

A week later, the day of Bulma's birthday arrived and everyone gathered for her celebration. Goku and Vegeta showed a great change in their power. They must have been training with Gohan.

Beerus came and demanded that the ssj God face him. Goku and Vegeta squabbled for a few moments before it was decided that Goku would face him. With a look of glee, Goku flew up and transformed. A flame-like aura rose off him and his hair became red. He was a ssj God. Beerus smiled and went forth to face him. He and Goku had an intense battle which Goku inevitably lost as he fell to the Earth.

I went over to spectate.

'So that's the ssj God? What a disappointment.'

Gohan caught his father and placed him down gently.

'You did well dad.'

He looked up and met Beerus' eyes.

'You'll be fighting me now, God of Destruction.'

'Oh? And who might you be?

'His son.'

'Hmm...So are you a ssj God as well?'

'I...I am beyond that.'

Vegeta called out in irritation.

'It's my turn! We agreed!'

'You and dad did. I did not. Stand down and watch Vegeta.'

Gohan slowly flew up and floated at the same level of Beerus.

'Come at me with your full strength Destruction God.'

'Don't make me laugh. You cannot face me at full power.'

'I assure you, I can hold my own.'

Gohan's energy began to change. His eyes glinted with a silver glow and his hair was dyed with that familiar silver hue. A pure aura enshrouded him.

'That...impossible! How?! A mortal! A mere mortal! Whis! Do my eyes deceive me?!'

'They do not, Lord Beerus.'

Gohan looked up at Beerus.

'I'll be attacking now.'

He appeared beside Beerus and delivered a kick which he narrowly dodged. His fighting spirit kicked in and he met Gohan's attacks blow to blow.

'Interesting! A mortal from my Universe shows the sign! Keep it coming brat!'

Gohan moved beautifully as he dealt his attacks at the perfect timing. Beerus showed great excitement as he used more power than what he thought he would need against a mortal.

Gohan soon showed signs of losing. His silver aura began to die down.

'NOT YET!'

He roared and continued his onslaught. His aura exploded once more and grew so thick it was blinding. His hair became fully silver.

'You...you mastered it! Bring it on!'

Beerus fought with an expression of pure ecstasy.

Gohan moved expressionlessly.

Unfortunately, the form lasted mere minutes before it left him. He floated weakly before a panting Beerus.

'Good fight! This was a more fulfilling day than I could have hoped!'

Before he could say anymore I appeared at Gohan's side and fed him a senzu.

'Teacher!'

He called out with a face of joy.

'Teacher? Who would you be? A god? No...but …Whis! What is this?'

'I...do not know, Lord.'

'I'm Rei. Nice to meet you.'

'Rei? And so? Are you here for a fight?'

'A fight? Hah! Don't be ridiculous! I'm here...to obliterate you.'

'Ob...insolent! You dare insult a god of destruction?! Destroy!'

A ball of purple destruction energy flew towards me rapidly but I stood fast. The ball entered me and...did nothing.

'What..? How?! Destroy!'

He roared as a dozen balls flew at me. They all entered my body and had no effect.

'What is happening right now?!'

'If you're done...I'll begin.'

My body released a gentle silver energy.

'You as well?!'

My eyes became silver as I appeared behind the screaming cat and grabbed his tail. I swung with some strength and he crashed on a nearby planet. I appeared on top of the crater where his body had landed.

I raised my hand slowly.

'Omega Blaster.'

The green attack hit a dazed Beerus and pushed his body to the planet's core. The resulting explosion destroyed the planet. I grabbed Beerus' heavily damaged body from the debris by his neck.

'RoBro can I return his destruction attacks to him?

[Yes]

'Good. Destroy.'

'Wa...wait...'

Beerus spoke weakly but before he could finish, his body had turned into dust.

The God of Destruction of Universe 7 was dead.
