10 Chapter Eight

[Beginning absorption...]

A strange viscous energy emerged from my hand and covered the body. Almost immediately he was broken down into energy which hastily entered my body.

[Absorption complete]

'That was quick. You sure work fast RoBro. Bring up my status. Lemme have a look.'

[Compiling status...Complete]

'Wow! Would you look at that! An increase of 10,000!'

Before he could celebrate, the voice of Paragus sounded out.

'Who's there?!'

'Just me. I apologise for entering your home uninvited.'

'Who are you?! Where's Broly? What have you done with my son?!'

'Jheez relax. Stop with the shouting. My name is Rei and it's a pleasure to meet you. Unfortunately, your son is dead. I killed him.'

Pargus had an expression of shock and disbelief.

'You...what?!'

'I killed him. You hard of hearing or something?'

'No...No! Boly can't be dead! My revenge...what about my revenge? No, he has to be alive...yes...my son will destroy King Vegeta. Only he can...yes...only Broly...'

'Are you insane old man? I just told you. The kid's dead.'

'Dead...no...Broly...BROLY!'

Paragus let out a ferocious shout as he released his energy. His power level of around 4000 quickly rose past 10,000 and continued its meteoric rise.

The cave's entrance was obliterated from the energy he released.

Life without Broly was meaningless. If Broly was dead, so was everything he lived for. With this mentality, Paragus achieved the state closest to the legend.

His whole body became enshrouded in ferocious gold energy. His power level had actually reached a little over 60,000.

'Ooooh! Is that the Pseudo Super Saiyan form? So cool! Your power increased by 15 times! Amazing!'

Paragus had no way of hearing the words spoken by Rei. He was completely blinded by rage and power. He saw the one who drove him to such a state and charged head-on.

'Let's do it!'

Rei lept forward and met the charge.

His power exploded as they exchanged blows. Paragus had the upper hand and attacked with no worry for himself.

Rei could feel the great difference in power.

Too slow to block that kick. Too weak to parry that punch.

But he adapted quickly.

Broly's instinct for battle was unmatched. And that instinct was now his. Rei was learning faster than he had in all his training. The enemy was trying to kill him. This was the best way for him to grow rapidly.

His eyes became gold as his power level saw a steady rise. He got both faster and stronger.

Before long, Paragus felt he was losing his initial advantage. He broke off the slugfest and flew back out of what was left of the cave.

He raised both his arms and rapidly shot ki-blasts at Rei.

'DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE!!'

Rei blocked what he could of the onslaught despite taking damage. His newly awakened Saiyan blood was screaming battle so he gave into it.

He charged into the rain of blasts simultaneously using the afterimage technique whilst charging a powerful attack in one hand. He broke through and appeared before Paragus.

'Eat this.'

His charged attack hit Paragus squarely in the chest. With a flash of green, the attack blasted him towards the ground at high speeds, heavily fracturing the earth.

A moment later, a heavily panting Paragus flew from the crater and landed on the ground.

He looked up at Rei and raised both his arms to one side as he charged his ki.

'I'll kill you! With this last attack, you will die and I will have my revenge!'

Rei raised both his arms into the air. A small ball of red energy lit up between his hands. The plants in the surrounding area began to wither as the small ball slowly grew.

What remained of his energy was charged to the limit. His green energy surrounded the red sphere.

He aimed the basketball size energy ball between his hands down towards Paragus.

'Death Bomb!'

'Galick Gun!'
