1 Chapter 1

Salem Lawrence, a tall, dark, handsome, fit, green eyed billionaire. But he was more then that, he was also detective with a stubborn, but also kind, beautiful, attractive partner with short auburn hair and hazel eyes, her name is Harlow Elmwood.

And, he was also the Alpha werewolf to the Black Wolf pack that has lived in this city for generations upon generations.

He may have enough money to be set for life and then some. He didn't HAVE to work for the rest of his immortal life. But he WANTED to work. It kept him from being bored.

And he had always been interested in law, whether it be in a courtroom as either a judge or a lawyer or, as he chose, a cop.

He loved being a cop, the thrill of the chase, catching a criminal, catching a killer, solving a mystery.

Of course, with him being the only werewolf in the homicide unit, his sense of smell quickly helped to identify the killer or who was there at the time and his colleagues and the system do the rest.

Something that really pisses his partner off.

Harlow, or Harley was a good cop too. Together, they had the highest close rate in the city, the county, AND the state.

----

Salem parked in his usual spot at the station in his '80 black z28 camaro. Across the parking lot, a 1967 VW Westfalia camper RV was parked. It was custom painted in red and black. Something that Harley had saved up to have done.

He saw the camper moving about on it's shocks, telling Salem that the owner was still inside it. He knew that Harley could get an apartment or at the least go to a motel and sleep in a decent bed for a change.

But she chose to stay and live in her camper. He knew times were rough and yeah it would better to own an RV. But he also knew that she saved back and could afford a place to live and have more SPACE.

He heard her cussing and knocking things over. He couldn't see her as she had these black curtains on all the windows to her RV.

He counted down to when she'd come out of the door and he'd be there, leaning against his camaro, with a look of 'rough morning?' and she'd tell him to shut up and don't start with her.

This time, however, he had a peace offering, a bottle of her usual diet soda and chocolate chip muffins from her favorite convience store down the street from the station.

Harley opened the side door to her camper, looking frustrated with how she had to start her day.

A familar scent came to him the moment she did, the clean polish of her cleaning the mini wooden cabinets that stored her food and snacks, the smell of burning something on the hot plate again. Probably distracted by a file or a puzzle she was working in a puzzle book, or by reading her crazy fan-fiction fantasies of her favorite tv shows on her personal tablet.

She opened her mouth, but stopped when he held up her soda and muffins with a smile that asked, 'friends?'

" What's this for? " She asked, looking from the drink and breakfast to him with a raised eyebrow, he wanted to rolled his eyes.

" Must you be suspicious of a kind gesture? " He asked her, still holding the soda and muffins to her as another scent hit him.

It was her own scent, accompanied by another familar scent that he knew from other women he had passed by, except this time it was from HER.

Her, Harlow Elmwood was his mate. And she was in 'heat'.
