Chapter 90 Not Good Enough

Hu'er is just staring at the table. She felt scammed and dumb. She didn't even realize how desperate she was earlier until now that she thought of it.

Jia Ting is already gone. Jiu Hu is outside her room, guarding the closed door. Hu'er… Hu'er still couldn't believe that she got tricked so hard.

She gave out reason after reason. Promised him tons of things and even wanted to give Jia Ting half of the berries stock she had. Luckily, Jia Ting didn't want her berries. But those promises will bite her soon.

Hu'er listed down her promises in her mind. 'One, I can't flirt with any other beastman, except for my mates, future mates, and those beastmen I think are good enough to be her mate.' When she said that her Daddy raised his eyebrow at her.

That made her promise another, 'Two, I will keep my hand to myself and not touch any other beastman that aren't relatives to their family or if it's unnecessary.'

Her Daddy Jia Ting looks so bored that she spoke again, 'Three, I will never eat my mates even if there is no food left. Other females do that, especially in winter. Either way, I definitely can't do it. It's against my principles.'

Daddy Jia Ting told her, "I don't think you have the guts to do that."

She really didn't have it. 'Four, I would give him half of my berry stocks'

He said, "I don't like berries."

She desperately decided to promise him that, 'Five, since I already chose the five; Jiu Lin, Song Li, Shun Su, Ke Rin, and Xin Hua, he can choose one beastman to become my mate. Just one. I'm afraid he will choose too many all at once. What if the beastman is not my type? I can take one but not a lot.'

By then she saw him get interested and recklessly said, "I owe you one favor. Whatever you want, as long as I can do it, I will do it."

And with that Jia Ting stood up and nods at her. He told her, "Okay, your punishment will be lifted tomorrow. Be sure to do all you said. Except for the berries… Tell me if you need my help, and I will fully support you." Then, he left.

When he left, Hu'er realized that Jia Ting was waiting for that promise. He wanted her to owe a favor. But because Hu'er didn't know what to give him, she promised too many.

Hu'er is very sure that if she promised him to do anything he wanted and owe a favor, Jia Ting would immediately be done with it. Hu'er wouldn't need to do those things she promised. However, his last words made her know that she still needed to do it because she already promised it.

She also feels a bit nervous. Jia Ting wouldn't want her to owe a favor if he didn't have something on his mind.

That's the reason she felt dumb right now. Hu'er even though her brain regressed because she is too comfortable and happy with her life.

She also couldn't blame herself. This life made her feel alive. Much more alive than the past one.

Hu'er sighed and just let fate decide for her. Either way, the only thing she regrets promising is not flirting with others. She can avoid that, or maybe do it secretly. No one would know.

Hu'er hummed happily and put all those matters behind her.

She suddenly stopped and looked at the door. Perking her ears she heard something is still moving there. Her Dada is still awake.

Patting her fur blankets, moving things somewhere that can block the vision of the door. She lay down.

Hu'er wants to wait for her Dada to fall asleep before opening the book. However, she realizes that she might need to wait for too long. And so she decided to take a nap and just wake up before they woke up to see what was inside the book.

She is so excited. But her excitement couldn't compare to how tired she really is. Hu'er completely shut down as soon as her eyes closed.

Someone knocked but Hu'er didn't respond. The door opened and Jiu Hu peaked. He couldn't see Hu'er clearly, but he knew that she is already sleeping.

The snoring was so loud that Jiu Hu couldn't help but smile. He went in to see her. Hu'er is tucked in her fur blankets.

Jiu Hu wanted to fix the things but saw that if he did the fur blankets on Hu'er would move. Sleeping so well that he didn't want to interrupt it. Hu'er would always wake up once something on her was moved by them.

Instead of taking all those covers that made her blocked from the door sight, Jiu Hu just went away and closed the door. Anyway, Hu'er wouldn't be endangered just because some things are blocking the door's sight.

Jiu Hu went down and called Chen Bin to guard Hu'er. "Is she still awake?" Chen Bin put all his herbs in the boxes.

"Asleep." Jiu Hu helped him clean up.

"This early?" Chen Bin raised his brow. Hu'er loves staying up late.

"Yes. She looks tired." Jiu Hu watched Chem Bin wash his hands and pat them dry.

"She sure is. I heard Old Mom taught her too many things today." Chen Bin couldn't but chuckles when he remembered how Hu'er looks when coming out of the Tribe Leader's house.

Jiu Hu just hummed. Once Chen Bim went up, he left home and looked for Jia Ting.

He wanted to know if the plan of Jia Ting would fall through. He just wanted to make sure after all he still has the right to know what will happen to Hu'er.

Jai Ting looked up as soon as Jiu Hu opened the door. "Did Hu'er agree? Will you still do it?"

"Yes." Jia Ting nods at him.

Jiu Hu sighed in relief and nodded at him. He is very happy yet sad at the same thing. It's very complicated.

He left without asking anything. They both understand each other's thoughts. They both knew what would happen.

They can only pray that Hu'er would accept it, wouldn't be disgusted, and wouldn't resent them.
