Chapter 160 - Damning

"Shit what are they doing here. Did your parents know you came with me?" I hurriedly arranged my clothes as if they were in the cabin with us. Suddenly feeling exposed. "No but I can almost guess how they know."

I paused from my scramble, puzzled at his words. But before I could question what he meant my phone rang. I could see my fathers contact card pop up and I debated answering. However, I knew if I did not, it would be worse for me.

"Hey...Dad...hows it going?" I was too flustered to be more natural, I sounded stupid. "Get down here now." He hung up after that.

"Ohhhhhhhh shit he is pissed." Never in my life from when I got my first phone has my Dad hung up on me. I was always was the one to end calls first. Whenever he was upset he never took it out at me but him not letting me get a word in and just order me around was not the usual him.

My mother I could expect, but him... I knew he was beyond upset.

Deans phone also rang and right as he clicked the button to answer his mom he suddenly shoved his phone away from his ear. The reason became apparent quickly as his mom began to curse him out. She yelled out angrily, loud, and fast in Spanish. From what I could gather she was saying something about him being the reason she had grays in addition to other things I did not understand.

Unlike my shock and fear from my fathers anger, Dean did not seem fazed and simply let his mother finish. She was breathing hard and it was only when his father took over that he had any type of reaction. "Lets head back we have much to discuss." His absent look became more stern.

Once the phone shut off we simply sat in silence. "Its ok. It will be fine." Dean recollected himself and grabbed our belongings. "Staying in here will not do us any good, I am sure its scary but that was just the bark and I doubt the bite will be worse."

His confidence eased my anxiety a bit and helped me down the stairs to get off the plane. Our parents were waiting on the tarmac looking as serious as a heart attack. The anxiety I had crept back up which tightened my throat.

When we finally arrived in front of them, no one made a move. It was not until my father reached over to grab my bag from Deans hand. "I can take it from here." Dean easily gave the bag but my father did not start walking away. "Celeste honey get in the car." Though his voice was mild, I knew better than to push him. I mumbled a see you later to Dean before I grabbed the bag from my dad and walked to the car.

My mother also stayed behind with my Dad and while I could not hear what was being said, thankfully from what I could see Dean kept his temper in check.

By the time they came back their mood seemed more ambiguous. This resulted in a silent ride back home. So with nothing to occupy me I finally let myself look at my messages. As expected the wedding was as if it was a television drama.

Many people who were connected to my family sent messages and emails reaffirming their loyalty to us and that they were unaware that we were not going to be in attendance to their wedding. Friends much like when Felix and I first broke up expressed their anger over his actions.

I was confused a bit at that as just because we dated did not mean no one could be with him after. He also openly confirmed his relationship to Sol so I was not sure what the shock was about but when I read the texts further and saw the videos and photos it all made sense.

A woman apparently had crashed the wedding and claimed that Felix was her sons father and he could not just not take responsibility. If that happened to me I would have stopped the wedding right then and their but he tried to push forward anyways.

So even though the woman was crying and she held photos of her son, Felix ignored her and kept pushing on with his vows with Sol who I guess did the same thing.

I guess people left at this point as no one shared what the reception was like.

I was confused how this did not make the news as this was certainly a story that would make headlines and bring huge media traffic. There was another news story which was even bigger than the wedding.

It was a photo of Dean and I in Paris. It was not a good quality one and you can clearly tell we did not know we were being photographed. So at the moment there was speculation on what our relationship stood at.

"No but I can almost guess how they know." His words flitted my mind and I thought back to the conversation we had about Frankie. 'No. That can't be right I mean...' Memories of high school flooded my head. The memories which initially were pure now tainted in self doubt about how Frankie felt. Any justification was swallowed. She was the only one who was in the same place and time as us.

The coincidences lined up and it was too damning to say otherwise. She had my phone number, just happened to be in Paris, Sol had the school violence report which could only have gotten to her hands by a student from our school as we were the only ones who had knowledge of that day and more. If I had to guess, I bet she took the picture not intending to share it yet but with the wedding disaster that would cover it up if she was buddy buddy with Sol.

Her dad sold insurance, it made sense for her to always have some herself. The familiar pains of a headache formed. 'Such a shitty way to end an otherwise amazing trip.'
