13 Diverging and Converging In LA Part 1

MINDI'S POV

Congregated together in Jocie's hotel suite. I was sitting on the bed, Lost in my own thoughts.

"I haven't seen those guys from this morning... Well not that I was trying too hard to spot them but I wonder if that guy that took the swan dive in the pool, is alright?"

"So we're headed to Universal Studios while you guys are going to Grauman 's Chinese Theater to watch Child's Play[1]?" asked Val.

"Yes and I'm so excited" said Adreanna.

"So the movie will be over at 3:10?" asked Meghan. "Yeah" responded Adreanna.

'Well that should give us plenty of time and then we can meet up, for the Hollywood walk of fame?" asked Val glancing over towards me.

"Okay... So, what are you going do after the movie, Mindi?" asked Meghan.

Jocie elbowed me in the side, when I didn't answer. "Huh?" I said.

"After the movie" prompted Jocie. "Oh. I don't know since I've already done the Hollywood Walk of fame..."

"Yeah about that, I was thinking you could still come along. You know I can't stay out in the heat long... and there are only certain stars, I'm only wanting to see" said Meghan.

"Yeah, you can check out some of the shops with Meghan" said Jocie throwing her arm around my shoulders.

"And keep us posted if one or more someone's pcatches your eye" said Shaneon with a wink while readjusting her grip on Jordyn who was sitting on her lap.

"I guess, I could come....I was actually thinking about seeing another movie or coming back the hotel and relax".

"Lame" said Jocie.

"I have to agree" said Jordyn, "Even though I like spending time to myself..."

"We're on vacation, Mindi. Be more adventurous, please..." said Val cutting Jordyn off.

"Ok, I get it. You guys can go now. Adreanna and me have 20 more minutes to spare before our movie".

I heard various grunts of "fines, okays and whatevers" as they left the room.

"You do know this is my room?" said Jocie arching an eyebrow. "Yeah, I know". I said with a smirk.

Bouncing of the bed and strolling through the door after the others.

In Val's and my room.

I'm sitting in one of the armchairs with my legs tucked under me, reading my nook on my phone.

*Knock, Knock, knock

I don't feel like its been that long... but whatever. I thought standing up to answer the door.

I opened the door, to see a bashful looking guy. He wasn't meeting my eyes directly but slightly looking down.

Taking in the guy's apperance. I could see his round, slightly chubby cheeks that peaked above his face mask. "Cute," I thought to myself as his cheeks had a reddish tint to them.

"Umm can I help you?" I said glancing to my left and right.

"yeh!" he said

..... "okay...?"

"I want to thank you" he said.

"Oh" I said while tilting my head, "swan dive?" I recognize that pink tinted, light brown hair from this morning.

His shoulders jerked with my response and his blush going a shade deeper.

"You don't have to thank me. It's only instinct to save someone that's drowning" I said.

His gaze shot to mine, shock evident upon his face.

I stepped back as to close the door. "I do appreciate you coming to thank me, though".

Panic evident on his face. He looked over his right shoulder. Then quickly turning his head back to me, "Wait! What are you doing today?"

Is this guy serious, I thought. "Hmm, lots... A Movie...

Sigh.... "the Hollywood walk of fame " I said shaking my head

Saint Monica Pier...."

He casted his eyes downward seemingly dejected.

I reached out a hand, placing it on his upper arm. "Hey. I'm glad to see you're well. Don't worry about thanking me".

"Mindi?" "Ready to go?" said Adreanna.

Just a little while ago Meghan checked off her last star that she had wanted to see.

Michael Jackson.

Throughout the walk we have been stopping to check out side stores along the Hollywood Boulevard.

When Meghan exclaimed, "Hey, let's spend the remaining time in Hollywood and Highland."

I'm down with that, I thought. It's hot out here and the water rides at Pacific Park, would be great right now.

Walking through the mall, nothing really was catching our eye.

I reached my hand in my right front jean pocket and looked at the time on my phone, 4:38 PM....

Sigh.

We're not supposed to meet up with the others till 5:30 PM for dinner at Santa Monica Pier: Pier Burger.

*Bump

"Oh, excuse me" I said glancing up at the person that I had bumped into.

"Ehh it's no problem" said a guy with a boxy smile.

"Hey, Mindi lets go in here" said Meghan grabbing my arm.

I glanced back over my shoulder at the guy.

Still smiling his boxy smile, he waved. Then turned around walking away, towards two other guys that had called him.

Turning back, I looked up at the store's name as we passed under its sign.

Harper. "Hmm never heard of it" I said trailing into the store after Meghan.

5:56 PM

We've just finished eating at Pier Burger.

"So what else do we want to get into" asked Val.

"I saw a game arcade?" I responded

"Yeh!" Exclaimed Shaneon, Adreanna and Jocie

Looking around Playland Arcade.

Meghan is going head to head with Jocie playing skee ball. Adreanna is sitting in front of the game Deal or No Deal. Shaneon and Jordyn have just entered the Halo Fireteam Raven machine.

Looking to my right where Val is standing beside me. I followed her gaze.

She is fixated on the two guys on the Dance Dance Revolution game machine.

"Wahoo" exclaimed a guy with a boxy smile as he pointed at his score. "Next challenger" he said puffing out his chest while looking at the other guy.

Focusing on the guy stepping down to join the other.

He has a perfect symmetric face, brown eyes and reddish brown tinted hair with bangs that were parted in the middle.

Taking in these three guys apperances. "These guys seem familiar"....

"I'll take you on!"

Shocked, I jerk my attention back to the familiar voice.

Val?....
