Chapter 1: Unexpected Departure

It was a crisp autumn evening, and the air held a sense of anticipation as Alex and his friends gathered at the local fair. The vibrant lights illuminated the night sky, casting a colorful glow over the bustling crowds. Laughter and excitement filled the air as they eagerly explored the attractions, indulging in the whimsy of the carnival games and savory delights.

"I can't believe they actually let us go to the carnival" said Alex.

"Yeah, I mean after all these years spent locked up at the orphanage, who would've thought they'd let us go out" said Ricky.

A slight frown appears on Alex's face as he starts to reminisce about his life at the orphanage.

….

I was just 3 years old when they found me.

The orphanage said I had been standing at their doorsteps crying in the rain.

It took me awhile to get used to life at the orphanage. It wasn't until I was 6 that I started to come out of my shell,

That was also around the time I met Ricky.

He was 7 when his parents gave him up

Instead of being sad like i was, he hated his parents and was glad he had been given up. The reason why he hated them is still unknown to me even now.

Even at the age of 16, Ricky still refuses to talk about his life before the orphanage.

It must've been horrible because every other night he gets these nightmares that cause him to wake up screaming in the middle of the night.

"Hey Alex!" Ricky shouts out, which snaps Alex out of his thoughts quickly.

"Stop daydreaming. We're at the carnival, come on and let's have some fun!!"

….

As the night wore on, Alex's adventurous spirit led him towards a mysterious fortune-teller's tent tucked away in a secluded corner. Curiosity piqued, he stepped inside, his heart pounding with a mix of excitement and skepticism.

The fortune-teller, a wizened old woman with silver hair and piercing blue eyes, beckoned him closer. Her voice carried an otherworldly tone as she began to read the lines on his palm.

"You are destined for greatness!"

"2 worlds that were once separated will finally come together"

"You will be the key to salvation"

Time seemed to stand still as she prophesied his future, her words weaving a tale of destiny and unimaginable possibilities.

But just as Alex began to question the legitimacy of the fortune-teller's words, a sudden gust of wind rattled the tent. The old woman's eyes widened, and she frantically muttered an incantation under her breath.

"Shalvo vulcon undea deturous"!

A blinding light enveloped Alex, and before he could react, he felt an inexplicable force pulling him away from the familiar world he knew.

When the light subsided, Alex found himself sprawled upon soft grass, surrounded by towering trees and an ethereal glow that bathed the landscape. Confusion and disbelief flooded his mind as he struggled to comprehend his new surroundings.

"Ah!"

"Where am I?"

"What is this place??"

As he rose to his feet, Alex noticed he was no longer dressed in his casual attire but instead wore the garments of a warrior, complete with a sword at his side.

Where are my clothes???
My Jordan's ?????

Alex had spent 3 years saving up money to buy those Jordans. He wore them everywhere.

Why do I have a sword?!!!

Panic set in, and he desperately searched for answers, calling out for anyone who could explain his situation.

To his surprise, a figure emerged from the shadows—a young girl with luminous green eyes and flowing silver hair.
She introduced herself as Elara, a skilled sorceress and guardian of this forest.

"Hello, I am Elara."
"Divine sorceress, keeper of Evergreen Forest!"
"You must be him."
" Although they said you would not be of this world, you kinda look like a dark elf!"

???

'A dark elf?'
Alex could not even begin to imagine what she was talking about.
He thought back to how he looked.
Black semi-twisted hair that barely reached his eyebrows
Dark brown eyes on a small perfectly proportioned face with beautifully shaped lips and long eyelashes
His skin color is reminiscent of a dark mocha.

"Is she being racist?!"
Alex considered himself to be good-looking and was very proud of that.
And the elves depicted in his world weren't typically good-looking.

Sensing Alex's confusion, she gently explained that he had been transported to a parallel world, a place where magic thrived and mythical creatures roamed.
Elara revealed that his arrival was no coincidence. According to an ancient prophecy, a hero from another world would arrive to fulfill a great purpose and restore balance to their troubled realm. As the weight of his newfound destiny settled upon him, Alex's mind swirled with questions and doubts.

But despite his skepticism, deep within Alex

Lay a glimmer of curiosity and a flicker of determinism. He knew that he couldn't simply ignore the circumstances that brought him here. There was a part of him that yearned for adventure, for a purpose greater than himself.

Elara sensed his internal struggle and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "I understand your doubts, Alex," she said softly. "But the prophecy speaks of bravery and strength residing within you. You have been chosen for a reason, and together, we can uncover the truth and fulfill your destiny."

As her words echoed in his mind, Alex felt a surge of courage. He looked out at the enchanting world before him, a realm filled with magic and endless possibilities. The sights and sounds were unlike anything he had ever experienced, and the thought of embarking on an extraordinary quest both thrilled and terrified him.

With a newfound resolve, Alex turned to Elara and nodded. "I'm ready," he said, his voice steady. "I may not fully understand what's happening or how I ended up here, but I'm willing to embrace this journey and discover the truth about myself and this realm."

A smile spread across Elara's face, her eyes twinkling with a mix of relief and excitement. "Very well, Alex," she replied. "We shall start by seeking answers in the ancient city of Eldoria, where the wisest sages reside. They may hold the key to unraveling the mysteries surrounding your arrival."As her words echoed in his mind, Alex felt a surge of courage. As they set off towards Eldoria, Alex couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation building within him. The forest seemed to come alive with whispers of magic and the promise of adventure. Elara led the way, her silver hair shimmering in the sunlight as they navigated through the dense foliage.

Along the journey, Elara shared stories of the ancient city, its towering spires and vast libraries filled with knowledge from centuries past. The city was known to be a sanctuary for scholars, mages, and historians, where the pursuit of wisdom and understanding was revered above all else.

As they reached the outskirts of Eldoria, Alex's heart quickened with excitement. The city stood before them, its grandeur and intricacy unlike anything he had ever seen. Elara guided him through the bustling streets, the sights and sounds captivating his senses. Shops filled with magical artifacts, spellbooks, and enchanted trinkets lined the cobblestone pathways, while street performers dazzled onlookers with their displays of elemental magic.

Finally, they arrived at the Great Library, an imposing structure with towering bookshelves reaching towards the heavens. Elara led Alex inside, where they were greeted by the head librarian, a wise old man named Alaric. He had a long white beard that reached his chest and a twinkle in his eyes that hinted at the vast knowledge he possessed.

Alaric listened intently as Elara explained their purpose, the ancient prophecy, and Alex's arrival from another world. After a moment of contemplation, he nodded and beckoned them to follow him deeper into the library.

They entered a chamber filled with ancient tomes, each containing secrets and forgotten lore. Alaric carefully selected a weathered book and placed it in Alex's hands. "This is the Book of Portals," he explained. "It holds the knowledge of interdimensional travel and may shed light on how you came to be here."

For days, Alex immersed himself in the pages of the Book of Portals, devouring its contents and unraveling the intricacies of the magical realms. He learned of the existence of portals that connected different worlds and the rare individuals who possessed the ability to traverse them.

As he delved deeper into the book, a revelation struck him. There was a mention of a powerful artifact known as the Key of Dimensions, said to unlock the doors between worlds. If he could find this key, perhaps he could uncover the truth behind his arrival and the prophecy that awaited him.
