48 Spirit Calling Tests

Yoongi walked offstage under the amazed and fearful gazes of the other trainees and staff. Yoongi walked over to Hoseok and Jungkook with a slight grin.

"If the two of you had been able to combine your abilities more accurately, there may have been a completely different outcome. You both have a lot of power and potential, but you need to find what is yours, how to truly make full use of what you have."

"I agree."

The boys turned around and saw Namjoon walking over. He looked at Hoseok and Jungkook.

"Hoseok. You have a flexible style as a Battle Mage, your wind is able to bend and twist through any obstacle. Instead of just throwing your power as a Magic-Channeller at your opponent, why not attack in the same way you do as a Battle Mage? Create a flexible style that is free, just like the wind that you control. Jungkook. You have the innate ability and power, but, as Yoongi hyung has said, you lack substance. It is too easy to find the weak points in your attacks. You need to find and cover your own weaknesses, become unpredictable. That way, it will be harder for your opponents to stop what you throw at them."

Jungkook and Hoseok both nodded in understanding. Namjoon looked over to Yoongi, who had a slight smirk on his face.

"Hyung, was there a need to play around with them?"

Yoongi chuckled.

"Of course. If I destroyed them right away, they would never see their own weak points. Now they do."

Hoseok looked at Yoongi as it clicked in his head.

"Hyung, were you going easy on us."

Jungkook looked over at Yoongi with a stunned look. Yoongi just shrugged nonchalantly, as he walked over to a tree and lay down in the shade. The boys began wondering how strong Yoongi really was. The stage had now been cleared of the hill and 10 tents were now on the stage. One of the staff stepped forward and made an announcement.

"Next is the Spirit Caller's tournament. As there are a lot of you competing, we will hold individual assessments and determine from there who will move on to participate in the tournament. There are only 16 spots available. Then the 16 trainees that are chosen will move on to one on one duels. All Spirit Caller's please wait for your name to be called out and head to the assigned tent."

Hoseok looked at the four around him. Seokjin, Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook. They were all competing in the Spirit Caller's competition. Although he was already in the group, Seokjin wanted to try his hand at and see how strong he was in terms of the others. Jungkook had competed in almost every competition, yet he still wasn't able to win yet. This made him even more motivated to go all out.

Taehyung and Jimin glanced at each other and gave each other encouraging nods, before beginning to warm themselves up. One by one, students names were called and they would enter one of the tents. There would be a surge of energy come from within, then a moment of quiet before the students would walk out. Some with hopeful faces. Others with looks of disappointment.

"Jeon Jungkook. Tent 3."

Jungkook looked up nervously. He felt a hand land on his shoulder. He turned to see Jimin, Taehyung, Seokjin and Hoseok smiling at him. Jimin nudged him forward.

"You got this."

"Fighting!!"

The boys all cheered him on loudly. Jungkook felt the support, nodding his head firmly and walking over to the tent. After a few moments, a strong aura began to be emitted from the tent that Jungkook entered. The ground began to shake violently for a couple seconds before becoming calm once more.

The trainees all looked at the tent in fear of the powerful and oppressive aura. Jimin glanced at the other trainees before looking at each other and laughing. Yoongi was still lying down under the tree, but a small smirk appeared on his face. Seokjin and Hoseok chuckled softly. Namjoon nodded with a look of pride. Jungkook came out of the tent. Although he seemed nervous, his eyes were burning with passion as he rejoined the others. Next from the boys to be called out was Seokjin.

He walked over to the tent confidently before entering. Trainees began to gasp as the tent he was in began to deteriorate, it looked worn out and had cracks in it. The next moment it reverted back to normal, as if nothing had happened. No one could understand what had just happened. Seokjin walked out of the tent happily and then noticed all the eyes that were on him. He smiled handsomely and waved before walking over to join the others.

On his way back, a powerful aura came from a tent close to his. The area around the tent seemed to darken, the air and the light began distorting as if the tent itself was a mirage of some kind. The energy rushed back inside the tent and the aura disappeared. Taehyung shyly walked out of the tent and scurried over to Jimin, who gave him an encouraging nod.

Jimin entered a tent next. The staff and trainees had already seen that the group of boys that had gathered together weren't ordinary, so they all watched Jimin with anticipation. And they weren't disappointed, as the temperature quickly began to drop, a chill could be felt throughout the arena. The tent that Jimin was in began to build ice on it, freezing under the intense cold.

The cold began to recede as the temperature returned to normal. The tent cracked as the entrance broke off and shattered on the floor. Jimin stepped out with a sheepish look on his face as he began bowing in apology to the staff.

The other trainees gave up at this point. They were dealing with insane freaks that they couldn't compete with. Many of the trainees just outright left, not wanting to go up against people this strong. Hitman Bang got the report of many trainees wanting to pull out. He chuckled.

"I guess we will be moving to the final four rather quickly. Let's finish the first round and get to the good stuff."

The staff rushed out as they went to get things ready, Namjoon chuckled softly behind Hitman Bang. A wide grin on his face as he looked at the other members.

"Show them what you can do, boys."
