43 Main Battle Mage

The trainees all went silent as they watched Jimin walk off the stage. Seokjin, Taehyung, Namjoon and Yoongi all calmed down as they walked away. The energy they were omitting terrified many of the trainees that were watching. Just who were these guys.

Jimin came and joined Jungkook and Hoseok. Jungkook had a confused face, he was unsure of what had just happened. He was just taken away by Hoseok and everyone went quiet for some reason. Hoseok and Jimin looked at each other and nodded. The staff finally snapped out of their daze as they got the trainee out of the icy rocks. He came out shivering and visibly shook.

As the competition continued, the battles were quiet tame in comparison to the Hoseok, Jimin and Jungkook's battles. The trainees had clearly lost their confidence. Trainees would forfeit once they found out that they were against Jungkook, Jimin or Hoseok. Without fighting again, Hitman Bang chose the three boys as the top three. They were all in the running to have a spot in the team. Hitman Bang spoke loudly.

"I do believe that the three of you will do well in the team, but I would prefer you to excel in other areas, not just Battle Maging. Only one of you are needed to solely be the main Battle Mage. Other members will learn and train as Battle Mages, but the team only needs one specialized Battle Mage. The three of you will battle and the winner will be added to the team now. While the other two will have points added to their names, contributing to your overall chance of being chosen to join the team."

The three boys looked at each other and grinned. They had all sparred with each other numerous times but they had never had a proper battle to see who was the strongest. Jungkook believed that his hyungs were stronger than him, but he wanted to say how big the gap was and if he could close it. Jimin was uncertain as both Jungkook and Hoseok incorporated different styles and techniques to him, but that made him more intrigued and excited.

Hoseok was smiling like the sunshine he is. He loved challenging and pushing himself as a Battle Mage. And he saw great power in his two dongsaengs. He expected great things from these two. He pulled out his twin blades as wind rushed around him.

"You two ready?"

Jimin pulled out his blade as the temperature around him dropped. He grinned at Hoseok.

"Always ready, hyung. Jungkook?"

Jungkook's gauntlets and greaves grew and were empowered. He smashed his fists together as he nodded. A staff member came forward and looked at the three boys, who were all itching to get started. The staff member raised his hand before bringing it down.

"Begin!"

The three boys charged to the center of the arena. Jungkook seemed to be sliding across the ground. He was making the ground beneath him to move himself forward at a incredible speed, but also connecting himself to the ground so he can keep his balance as he moves. Hoseok had formed his wind wings as he flew forward, pushed along by the powerful wind. Jimin leaped forward, but as he landed on the ground, he seemed to be sliding on the ground. He left behind ice, the ground had frozen and he was sliding forward at blistering speeds.

The three reached the center as they were about to collide. Jimin did a wide, horizontal slash. Ice flew out of his blade as it flew towards Jungkook and Hoseok. Jungkook got on his knees and leaned back, as he slid underneath the attack, the earth still moving him forward. Hoseok simply flew up and over it.

After dodging the attack, Jungkook rose up and threw a punch at Jimin. Jimin gracefully dodged the punch as he slashed at Jungkook. Jungkook blocked the attack with his gauntlet. Hoseok came down and landed between the two before slashing outwards, pushing the two away. Jungkook landed on his feet and pausing for a second. Jimin flipped through the air and lightly landed on the ground before charging forward at Hoseok.

Hoseok and Jimin's blades clash together. Hoseok continued to throw attack after attack. With each attack, the wind and the cold seemed to be combining. A cold gust formed around them. Jungkook took up a running position as he punched the ground. The ground formed a pillar beneath Jungkook's feet as it pushed Jungkook in the direction of his two hyungs.

Jungkook charged his energy into his gauntlets as he held his hands above his head. Jimin and Hoseok sensed Jungkook as they moved back to dodge Jungkook, who slammed his fists into the ground that Jimin and Hoseok were previously standing. Rock spikes flew out of the ground at Jimin and Hoseok. Hoseok slashed with his blades, his wind pushing all the spikes to miss him. Jimin slashed and froze the rocks that were going to hit him.

Jungkook got up, throwing a punch at Hoseok, who blocked it with his blade. Jimin slashed at Jungkook, who back kicked the blade. The three boys exchanged blows back and forth, constantly switching between attacking and defending, while also constantly switching who they were attack or defending against.

Both Jimin and Hoseok slashed Jungkook. He caught both if their blades as he strengthened his gauntkets. He then through the two up in the air. Jimin and Hoseok both continued to slash at each other as they rose into the air. Hoseok flapped his wind wings as he rose above Jimin. He then sent a slash downwards, sending a powerful gust to push Jimin towards the ground. Jimin twisted through the air as he sped towards the ground, towards Jungkook.

Jimin charged energy into his blade as he prepared to slash at Jungkook. Jungkook's greaves sunk into the ground, locking him in place and giving him the strength of the earth. He charged the energy in his hand as he raised it above his head as Jimin slashed down. As Jimin's blade and Jungkook's gauntlet connected with each other, a powerful burst of ice exploded out of Jimin's blade.

Jungkook was pushed deeper into the ground as the powerful force of the ice pressured him immensely. He pushed up with all hid might, throwing Jimin off, but at that moment, Hoseok came hurtling down from the sky. He smashed into Jimin, who was deflected upwards, and pushed him into Jungkook. Jungkook fell as Jimin slammed into him. Hoseok stood over the two as a powerful mini tornado formed around him. It grew as it covered the entire area around the three boys. Jimin and Jungkook looked at each other in shock before looking up at the floating Hoseok.

The wind sped up rapidly. Although it wasn't hurting them, Jimin and Jungkook could tell that if they stepped into the rampaging winds around them, they would be torn to pieces. Hoseok spun his blades as he concentrated. The circle of the powerful tornado began to close, the area becoming smaller and smaller as the winds drew closer to Jimin and Jungkook.

Jimin and Jungkook looked at each other, a tacit understanding seemed to pass through one another. They seemed to reach a conclusion as they both nodded. The two boys stood up and looked at the intimidating Hoseok resolutely. They both raised their weapons and shouted together at Hoseok.

"We surrender!"
