6 A new Path?

{Konohagakure. January 46 modern era.}

Hokage office.

"Jiraiya!" Exclaimed the third Hokage.

"It's good you made it back" added the third Hokage, his relief masked by the heavy mood in the office.

"Hi, old man,....so it looks like another war will be upon us soon" stated jiraiya calmly.

"I'm afraid so... the skirmishes with the small Nations at borders are intensely increasing everyday" replied the third lamenting the bleak future of this world.

What the third and jiraiya are afraid of, would eventually come true.

Because of the decline in national power, the reign of the five great shinobi countries is facing the crisis of crumbling.

Along their borders, skirmishes with smaller Nations broke out all the time.

The conflicts are gradually spreading their flames far and wide, and soon it'll develop into an all out war.

This conflicts are turning into an unprecedented war of attrition, and soon this will torment all Nations with a shortage of war potential, not even a great power like Konoha will be spared.

Soon very Young children barely out graduated from the academy will be thrown into the battlefield.

"Looks like Iwagakure is having some ambitious plans for Kusagakure" suddenly said jiraiya.

"I got some Intel about that, and I think that bastard Onoki is planning to lay siege to the borders of the land of Fire" said the third with a scowl.

"Well, for now we have some time to prepare since they are at war with kumogakure, they already had several skirmishes" said jiraiya based on the intel he got from his spy network.

The third Hokage just sighed, he knows out of experience that the end of this war would be either the annihilation of Konoha or one of the other great shinobi villages, or survival of the village with crippling losses, no benefits at all, they're merely throwing life's of good people for nothing in return.

True, winning will rise the fame of the village and eventually will lead to more missions and more wealth to the village.

But if Everytime a great village is having difficult times, would think of war to prove its existence, then, our future is bleak.....

' but, in the end it forced upon us ' thought the third Hokage, ' looks like I need to change the policy of the academy, we need to focus on ninja training and graduate the poor kids as soon as possible....sigh' lamented the third.

" So, how's Minato doing?" Asked jiraiya leaning on the window edge.

This brought a smile to the third sad tired face " he's really a genius, I know you're helping him with his new original technique, the rasengan, but what is more impressive, he already mastered sensei tobirama space and time technique and on his way to improve it" said the third Hokage with a look of pride on his face.

" And what are you proud of!!? He's my student, MY student.... it's all thanks to my magnificent teachings...hhhhh"" laughed jiraiya with a smug face.

The third just switched for a bit, and restrained his fist from smashing jiraiya's face,' calm down Hiruzen, don't headbutt with an idiot'.

Jiraiya stopped acting like a jerk, since he didn't get the reaction he wanted from his teacher,' should I tell him about orochimaru latest operations!....well, I don't think it's the right time' thought jiraiya.

He didn't want to see his already exhausted teacher remember another burden.

Konoha orphanage.

It's almost 2 months since Jin started preparing for his crazy idea, or you can say risky practice.

Ok, he's doing nothing, because for now he needs to let his body get used to chakra, and wait until his chakra network is bit mature and stabilised.

The purpose of this waiting, is for the body to become dependent on chakra, but the trick here is not letting that addiction to chakra if want to call it like this, reach the point where the body will fail and can't sustain life in the absence of chakra.

' I think, another week, and I will be good to start my training' thought Jin.

Sitting under the shade of tree in the backyard of the orphanage alone.

Jin would be always seen alone, if his mother has work in the orphanage, no one would, you can say 'bother' him.

He's not like isolated by the other kids, no, they just gradually came to see him as a calm and quiet kid, which is a bit boring for kids with abundant energy, but he interact with the kids from time to time, when the chemical reactions of a little kid body affect him, leading him to act as one, despite his mental age, which fortunately made him more or less look like a normal, albeit a bit shy kid.

And what Jin is intending to do a week from now, was based on his knowledge on chakra.

He knows, before Kaguya, humans didn't have access to chakra, chakra didn't even exist.

But nature energy was always there, just no one knew how to use it, well it more like humans didn't know something called nature energy even exist, simply their spiritual energy hadn't been unlocked yet, it was like there's a lock preventing humans from accessing there spiritual energy, and in Jin opinion it's something on the human DNA level.

That's why no one used nature energy like the God tree or the ten tails beast.

So it was clear for Jin which path is the right one, when a high class being, like the ten tails beast is using nature energy, so Jin now knows what to focus on, but he has no desire for the sage mode, seeing it's the only way nature energy is being used in this world.

Jin thinks it's a wrong way to use nature energy, it made no sense to him to mix a pure high level energy like nature energy with chakra which is an inferior type of energy.

So he came to believe that the chakra, the shinobi are using and training in, is wrong and limited practice.

But he still thinks that normal chakra has one merit, it's unlocking the human spiritual energy, of course you would ask how is that, since you need spiritual energy to produce chakra.

Because it all started with chakra fruit and Kaguya, after that history changing event, humans acquired the ability to produce chakra, that points to a fundamental change to the humans Genes, be it a mutation or an evolution, or could be a gene lock somewhere in the folds of the human DNA broke open, which gave humans access to their spiritual or mental energy or the body acquired the ability to produce spiritual energy after the DNA evolution, which give rise to the possibility that humans bodies couldn't release this energy before.

And for what concerns physical energy, it was always there, namely the chemical energy, that fuels our bodies.

So Jin believes, since chakra evolved the human race, why doesn't he use the same concept, and try this method of evolution, but with a higher level energy, the nature energy.

So how's Jin going to achieve this endeavor?

' but how can I explain my body condition to mom, after I start separating my physical and spiritual energy' thought Jin a bit troubled, because he understands how much the already 22 years old Nari Takayama, loves him and how much it tortures her when he's in pain and bad health.

If we come to think deeper in Jin's new practice, we will found for the training to theoretically work, we need a few conditions, and Jin agree with that.

First, he needs to sense the nature energy and know how to differentiate between his chakra and nature energy.

Fortunately he's not that used to his chakra yet and even better, when he starts forcing his body to stop producing chakra, it will be easier for him to sense nature energy in the absence of his chakra.

Second, his body must be devoid of any other kind of energy, namely chakra, that would clach with the nature energy he will introduce to his body.

Here comes the step of separating his Yin and Yang energies, which is the point behind this practice, exchange the chakra in his body with nature energy or another type of chakra based fundamentally on nature energy.

Third condition, the need of a system that will take the job of controlling and the path that will spread the nature energy through his body without any damage to his body, or at least the minimum damage that could be allowed, and spare his body any lasting crippling injuries.

Here comes the role of the chakra network, even though he has a surmise that the network won't be able to achieve the desired control, but he still going to take the risk.

Because there is always a 70% chance the nature energy will trigger a new evolution of his DNA, to adapt the chakra network in his body and give it the ability to accommodate nature energy.

So far he doesn't know if he will be using nature energy in It raw state, or what his physical and spiritual energies roles in his new practice, of course that a talk we will be having when he survives this risky gamble.

Right now, Jin feels like a deaf person walking in a dark alley.

' well, for now, the plan would be simple, when I learn how to separate my Yin and Yang energies, I will start depriving my body of chakra, for small periods of time, and increase the intervals between every chakra dose to my body' planned Jin.

The reason why Jin will be introducing doses of chakra to his body from time to time, after his success in separating his Yin and Yang energies first, is to make his body act like a drug addict, and force his body to look for new source of energy and should help the body adapt to the new energy easier, and that craving for new energy is what will make it easier for the body to accept nature energy.

' sigh..I just hope my body can handle the lack of chakra faster and avoid ending up a cold body' hoped Jin in his heart.

For his new practice, Jin theorised that only a child younger than 1 year old who's his body is not that dependent on chakra yet, or a pure blood Uzumaki can go through the practice barely alive, of course this outside the existence of another well thought and researched technique, not a Hasty and forceful one like his.

So Jin could be seen as a special case, his body didn't produce chakra only when he was almost 3 years old, and with his mental age and his body already capable of handling some hardship, made training in his new practice possible.

But, will an evolution occur in his DNA, will it lead to a new path.

That still unknown to him.

' hhhh...at least, I would be seen as a weak bodied kid, a boy with bad health,...that will save me from the forced recruitment in the war, that.... until I succeed or fail in my training, but at least by then the war should be over!' thought Jin, a bit humorously, in an attempt to erase his doubts and fears about what he's about to venture in.

Taking his fate in his hands, our poor Jin Takayama, is about to go on a little adventure with an uncertain future, unknown to him, how it will affect his standing in this world in the future.

But, hard work and the open minded personality, which shaped his understanding of this world, plus his experience and knowledge as a young physics nerd and teacher, is all what Jin could rely on, in this foreign world.
