20 Let’s Call it Quits for Today

So Won was always there when Jae Hyun needed it. It was like wondering if he was spying on him or if he hadn't placed an unknown tracker on Jae Hyun to read his mind. This idea made Jae Hyun shiver. Nevertheless, he was happy to see him there.

So Won replied while grabbing a guy who was running at him and kicking another man in the stomach.

"Shouldn't you say "thank you" first? I just saved your ass, though."

A guy pulled out a dagger and ran into Jae Hyun. With a kick to his wrist, the man dropped it and Jae Hyun grabbed it in flight before turning it over. He then hit the man with dagger lapel.

"Thank you!"

So Won smiled at Jae Hyun before to drop the guy he was holding and pull out his gun.

"Kylian sent me a message saying you were skipped school, so I activated your wristband's tracker and luckily, I was close, so I came straight away."

"You put a tracker on me?" Jae Hyun judged So Won without hiding it.

"It was just in case. Sorry." So Won made a face that said he was sincere.

Jae Hyun sighed. So Won was really the kind of person he couldn't hate.

"Forgiven. But really. Don't treat me as a child." replied Jae Hyun to So Won.

Suddenly, Tiffany started screaming. More and more people had joined the fight, and it was becoming difficult to protect everyone while fighting. Daniel ran towards the girls and kicked a guy in the back as he approached Emma.

"Kyaaah!!!"

A man grabbed Jasmine from behind and by reflex, she walked on his foot, kicked him under the chin, then kicked him between the legs and walked away. The man screamed as he squirmed on the floor.

"Niel! What the hell are you doing? Why don't you protect us too? Emma isn't the only one here!"

He looked at her stunned. Considering how she had treated the previous man, she didn't seem to need much help.

BANG!

So Won shot and a man too close to the girls fell to the ground. Girls screamed in horror before realizing that the man was not dead. Actually, he wasn't even bleeding.

"Blanks?"

"Did you think I'd use real bullets?" answered So Won to Jae Hyun.

Mena pulled out their guns, but their leader waved at them to put them away.

The enemy group was beginning to repel them more and more. So Won approached Jae Hyun.

"Not to say, but there are more and more of them. The longer the fight lasts, the more disadvantaged we are."

Jae Hyun looked at So Won while avoiding a man and directed his gaze at their leader. As if connected, So Won and Jae Hyun looked at each other before Jae Hyun ran into So Won. He threw him to the leader who was still seated.

The leader used a man close to him to place him between him and Jae Hyun. The poor man received the kick that was not intended for him in the face before falling to his knees and holding his bleeding nose.

Jae Hyun didn't pay attention to him and ran at the leader. The one lifted Jae Hyun up and threw him to the ground. He tried to crush Jae Hyun, but Jae Hyun avoided him by rolling to the side before getting up. The man pulled out a dagger and rushed to Jae Hyun while smiling.

Whoosh!

Jae Hyun avoided it and knocked the table over on his way to block the weapon before pushing it with his right foot towards the guy. The man put his hand on the table before going over it.

But Jae Hyun, who had already anticipated this action, kicked his dagger off with a kick on man's wrist. The weapon was thrown away. The man spun backward to get away from Jae Hyun.

Jae Hyun and the man settled down. The man had a sadistic smile on his face. He seemed to enjoy the fight.

Then, the man ran at Jae Hyun.

Jae Hyun bent down to avoid his kick before taking his leg in balance and turning it over. The man fell to the ground head forward and he put his hands forward to avoid to hurt to his head.

Jae Hyun took advantage of this moment to press his knee against his upper back.

As the man was about to try to turn around and resume fighting, he heard a weapon charging close to him. As he looked up, he noticed that a gun was pointed at him.

"I advise you to give up. This gun is really loaded, and I wouldn't hesitate to shoot."

So Won looked at him with confidence and smiled at him.

The man smiles before sighing and raising his hands as a sign of abandonment.

"Guys, stop the fight." said the man.

With that one sentence, the battle that was still raging stopped immediately.

Daniel, who was trying as best he could to protect the girls, glanced at the voice before sighing. He was completely out of breath.

So Won satisfied asked a question while smiling.

"Can you answer our question now?"

"Yeah. The girl, right? I don't know who she is, but there's a good chance she's connected to this "Wrath group". Their safe house is in a warehouse not far from here. I can transfer the map to you."

So Won was unconvinced. He could hardly believe that the man would sell his men so easily.

"Don't look at me like that. They're not my men and honestly, I'd like them to do their business elsewhere. Can you let me go now?"

Jae Hyun lifted his knee. The man immediately sat down and rubbed his back before transferring the map to the group.

The group walked away towards the warehouse.

One of the group asked a question that made him itch.

"Are we really going to let them go like that?"

With a bottle in his hand, he answered him.

"Yeah. I like them. Let's call it quits for today. And these kids need to be put back in place. They were starting to be too arrogant for some people that only rent a warehouse. That's why I hate rich kids!"

He took a sip of alcohol smiling.

After about ten minutes, they arrived in front of an old warehouse. They stopped in a safe place to observe. Only one man was in charge of guarding the entrance. And he seemed to be firmly bored. After making sure the guy was alone, Jae Hyun turned to the girls.

"Girls, you stay here. We'll be quick."

Vivian answered firmly.

"No! I come. This is my best friend we're talking about! I have the right to know who they are and see their faces."

Blood began to flow from her nose. Emma took a handkerchief out of fear and pinched her nose to stop the blood.

"You're bleeding! You really should just wait!" said Tiffany.

"I knew it was strange. You weren't supposed to come back to school until October" said Emma worried.

Vivian remained stubborn.

"No! It's just a symptom to my leukemia, it's nothing."

Jae Hyun stared at Vivian resolutely.

"You've done enough. Let us do the rest. We don't know how many people are inside. It's too dangerous."

"All the more reason for us to come!"

So Won intervened.

"Listen. He wanted to be nice, so he didn't say it, but you're gonna get in the way. We can't fight normally while we have to protect you. So you stay here and wait."

The girls looked down. Jasmine was frustrated by her own weakness. Vivian clenched her fists tightly. She wanted to answer, but she couldn't find anything to contradict him.

Jae Hyun walked towards the entrance followed by So Won before stopping and turning around.

"Niel, aren't you coming?"

Daniel answered him naturally.

"I'm going to stay and protect the girls."

Jae Hyun looked at him flabbergasted.

"I didn't know you were a girl?"

Daniel stuttered.

"We... We can't leave them here. What are we going to do if they get attacked?"

"The place is safe. I wouldn't have asked them to stay otherwise. But, hey, if you're scared, just say so."

Daniel began to blush.

"Argh! Okay, I'm coming. But don't complain if I'm not useful. I'm not as good as the two of you!"

Jae Hyun looked at the girls one last time before addressing them. His gaze was so cold that they had chills.

"Whatever happens, you stay here. Understand?"

His smile was radiant, but his aura remained the same.

Jasmine swallowed her saliva before shaking her head. The others did the same. One thing for sure, she would make sure that she would never frustrate Jae Hyun no matter what happens in the future. She didn't want him as an enemy.

Jae Hyun walked towards the entrance of the warehouse while touching his wristband.
