Grave of The King

After he took a deep breath, Leon calmed down. He began observing his surroundings, looking for clues that could've been of help to him.

The place he's at right now is exactly the same as the harbor he lives in, the only difference was that there's no one here.

The eerie silence welcomed him, the shining morning sun stopped its rise, it's light colors the harbor red. Leon looked around the place, trying to find the slightest of clues. Sadly, he did not find them. Dejected, he finally opts to ask the the one who brought him here.

"Why me?" he asked. "There are hundreds, thousands of people out there. Why me?" he reiterated.

"You crossed the line, and went back, that reason is enough. Your rest is ending, be prepared O, ruler of the seven seas." the voice answered.

silence ensued. Deep in thought, Leon didn't notice that everything was back to normal. The missing crowd was back, and behind him, the old woman who supposedly lured him there could be found sleeping in her stall.

"Leon!! There you are. I searched for you everywhere! Where were you?" John approached, his face looked concerned.

"I'm sorry for that, can't help it." Leon apologized.

"Well, it's okay. Let's get going, the bar awaits! Hahahaha!" John looks happy. "You're right John. The bar awaits!" Leon brightened up.

They went through the crowds, going past two bars facing the sea, until they arrived the bar they frequent. It was the last bar that had sea view, situated at the farthest point in the port, the atmosphere there was calm and free, the feeling one will have when they lie down at the beach, and trickling waves brushed against their feet.

Cold beer was soon served, along with various marine delicacies of which, the most notable one was the roasted marlin with lemon, herb, and spices. Laughters occasionally rang from the customers eating and drinking to their fill, time flew by.

The once clear blue sky now had a tinge of orange. The sun that was behind the bar, now in their full view glowing resplendently, grossly incandescent. The customers went home one by one, many went back to their homes near the harbor. John too went back, like many others who went back to their ship to sleep, waiting until the sea gave them permission to set sail. Leon just sat there, taking in all that breathtaking beauty of the sunset in all of its glory, imagining what it would be like if he had chosen differently. If he had crossed the line, and go beyond it.

The sun already sets when he went home, sounds of the waves crashing on the beach was his only companion in the darkness of the room. Unable to sleep, he crept his way to the open window, looking into the dark, hoping that the moon will shed some of it's light. Alas, the light that greeted him was not the moon's, but a strike of purple lightning, zapping him from the depths of the dark. That instance of light banished the lingering darkness, and the moon showed itself, it's light shone from the gap on the roof, flashing upon a pair of lifeless golden eyes. Here lies the king of the seven seas.

"He's dead, and here I thought he's the chosen one who could lead us to 'that place'." a voice could be heard in the night, what it said was the last thing Leon heard before the darkness swallowed him.
