1 Beginning

'Gyah!'

Sounds of training can be heard from inside the room. An immature, very handsome looking young man could be seen kicking and punching a training dummy from the inside his room.

Qin Shang slowly grew tired as he collapsed and sat down. He closed his eyes as if waiting for something to happen. A transparent panel which appeared in his mind slowly appeared as numbers was seen displayed on it.

Vitality: 0.2

Mind: 0.1

Speed: 0.2

Constitution: 0.5

He smiled charmingly as his training finally paid off. It had been a week since this mysterious attribute panel appeared in his consciousness. He, was a 15 year old student at the local Academy which is located at the Tier 5 Ba City. The cities were split up in tiers in terms of talent and resources. From Tier 1, which was the highest and Tier 5, which was the lowest. 2 thousand years had passed since the Apocalyptic War which wiped out half of the population. It marked the evolution of mankind along with all of Earth. The biggest power in the world was the Shan Alliance which was formed some years after the Apocalypse happened. The continents also combined into one and turned into a super continent.

Since then, the Shan Alliance had split the world into 4 regions that had the 4 divine beasts as their symbol. The North was known as the Black Turtle, the West known as White Tiger, the South known as the Vermilion Bird, and finally, the East known as the Azure Dragon.

Qin Shang used to be bullied due to jealousy for his good looks since he had always attracted girls back at his academy which was known as the 7th Academy. He was barely average in terms of strength and lower than average in talent. However, he knew he couldn't give up. He still had his 7 year old sister and his mother to take care of.

He was born from a barely average family.

His mother worked on side jobs in a nearby store from their house while she supported him who was studying in the Academy and his sister who was also attending the lower sections for children of the Academy. He wanted to help his mother to rid her of her problems in helping him and his sister. However, he was too weak. In the current world, what mattered was strength.

He could get strong and join another better Academy or maybe become a Hunter which prioritized hunting beasts. However, hunting beasts was no laughing matter and he didn't have enough strength to do so. In the Shan Alliance the strongest power it has was the Hunter Association. It was also the easiest and most dangerous way to earn money out of.

The Hunter Association was where most of the strongest people come from. It had Physical Warriors which leans onto their physical strength, the Espers which controls mental energy and some with elements, and the Beast Masters that could subdue mutated beasts and turn them into their own summons. However, Espers and Beast Masters were very rare. In the Alliance, only 1% of the population was either Espers or Beast Masters. That would show the extreme rarity of people like them.

Qin Shang was only a Warrior who needed to rely on his physical strength to become stronger thus was only a trash due to lack of talent. However it all changed a week ago when he suddenly received the attribute panel. He could focus his stats in one or change it equally. Strength obviously increased his strength which increases his strength by 1 hundred kg with just 0.1 meaning if he could have 1 point in it, he would have 1 thousand kg worth of strength.

Vitality increased his healing speed and fights against bodily harms like diseases or poison. Mind increased his learning and mental ability meaning that he could become an esper and a beast master at the same time. In a sense, becoming a beast master and an esper at the same time is impossible due to the difference of mental energy. It could not possibly hold both types of abilities therefore no one could do it. However there was one case that it had happened, the First Chairman of the Shan Alliance which was Shan Cao. He obtained immense talent which made him able to control both special types of powers, besides him there was no one else, until Qin Shang came along. Speed, obviously increased his agility, dexterity and reaction speed. And for Constitution, it was his defense, stamina and how long his body could hold on. It was higher than the others due to the constant beating and bullying he receives from other people which pushes his body to the limit.

Other than those, there was no other information about how he received such a goldfinger. Basically it was like how a video game works but with him able to change his stats.

Soon nightfall came as he heard a voice calling for him.

"Big Brother! Mother asked me to call you for dinner!", a cute voice called out coming from behind him.

Qin Shang turned around and saw his 7 year old sister, Qin Lu. He smiled as he stood up and walked towards her and patted her head.

"Tell mom that I'll be down later. Okay?", he said while some thoughts flashed through his head.

Qin Lu looked at him a bit and nodded her head as she left the scene. After Qin Lu left, he sighed and looked towards a box at the top of his desk. The box was something he had received from his father the day before he disappeared 7 years ago.

He remembered the exact words he said.

"Qin Shang, my son remember this, if you want to get stronger to protect our family, take this box and use what is inside in the next seven years. You must never open it before then. You hear me?", Qin Shang did not understand what his father meant back then, however he followed his instructions since it was his last wish to him.

He walked towards the box and picked it up. He looked at it for a while and sighed, he then opened the box as his eyes laid on what was inside. His eyes laid at a blue glowing gem. He reached towards the gem and at the exact moment he touched it, he felt great pain. He quickly transfered all his attribute points to Constitution and ignored Vitality as it could only regenerate him and not help him remove the pain, while constitution would help his body hold on for a while.

He felt a bit of pain go away however, it was still extremely painful. He just clenched his teeth and tried to hold himself screaming in pain as it could alarm his family.

10 minutes later, the pain slowly faded away and he collapsed while sweating furiously.

He didn't move a muscle for at least 30 seconds as he returned his attributes to normal and slowly forced himself to sit down.

He knew that his dad would not do anything to hurt him so he instantly made up a conclusion. His dad probably told him to use it 7 years later as he himself was too weak when he was younger, however his dad probably never thought that he would still be this weak 7 years later. Qin Shang smiled wryly at this thought of his.

He picked himself up from the floor and opened his panel once again.

Constitution: 2.5

Seeing his new panel, his eyes widened as he rubbed his two eyes again and again. However, he soon realized that the panel was in his consciousness and chuckled at his stupidity. With just the strength status of his, he was already the strongest student in the academy itself. The strongest in the academy only had a strength of 758 kilograms of strength, and his already reached 1300 kilograms. However he was not satisfied with the result since the lowest ranked Hunter which was an Iron rank needed at least 1 thousand kg of strength and he was only counted as a 3rd Class Iron Rank

He then noticed his constitution had received more than one. It was probably because of the holding out the pain for long that it made my constitution become even stronger.

He smiled as he proceeded to go down to eat dinner as his mother or sister might call him again.

Once he arrived downstairs and towards the kitchen, he saw his mother and his sister was already sitting in the couch of their living room. His mother, Shan Yanjing, had spotted him and smiled towards him.

"You should go eat your dinner. We just finished so you should hurry up and eat then take a rest."

Hearing her words, Qin Shang smiled as he thought about helping his mother earn alliance credits. Alliance Credits was the currency used by the people of the Shan Alliance in their daily lives. Shan Yanjing, would only earn a thousand to two thousand of Alliance Credits each month. And it was only change for people who were rich or even above average.

Qin Shang was dazed a bit, however was soon

snapped back into reality as he heard his mother's worried voice.

"Qin Shang are you alright?", Shan Yanjing asked worriedly as she looked at her dazed son.

He looked towards his mother and nodded with a bright smile on his face as he headed towards their kitchen to eat up. Seeing his bright smile, Shan Yanjing was confused a bit and sighed.

'He truly is looking more of a lady killer than his father was.', she smiled as she compared his son and husband in her thoughts.

Meanwhile, Qin Lu, who was observing in the sidelines was confused at their constant smiling but decided to smile brightly towards her mother as well. Shan Yanjing saw her daughter's cute and adorable smile as she patted her head. Qin Lu giggled as she slowly fell asleep in her mother's arms.

Soon, Qin Shang went back to his room after finishing his dinner and tried to use his mental ability to use telekinesis on his bed.

However, it felt too heavy for him and started of with smaller things from a piece of paper to a book. He tried stacking books until it felt heavy at 5 books so he transfered all his stats to his mind.

Mind: 1.1 >> 6.9

He then tried lifting it again which not surprisingly, lifted without effort. He turned towards his bed and tried to use telekinesis over it. The bed floated up by at least 2 meters above ground and would not go higher any longer. He concluded that his mind attribute was too low to make it go any higher and slowly placed it back down and returned his attributes to normal.

He lied down his bed and closed his eyes as he tried to rest. Thirty minutes later, Qin Shang was tossing and turning in his bed as he could not sleep. He opened his eyes and sat down his bed, he looked outside his window and decided to do a quick walk to tire himself out. Qin Shang went out through the windows and landed on his feet as he dropped down from his second floor room.

He walked alone in the streets as he began to feel bored. He thought that there would at least be something interesting happening outside. He was about to return to his house when he suddenly hear a faint sound.

"Bang!"

The sound had came from somewhere at least 5 miles towards west. Thanks to his keen senses, he could identify where it was even though it wasn't loud. He looked at the direction of where the sound came from and decided to check it out. He soon arrived in front of an old and abandoned apartment building which seemed that it could crumble down at any moment.

He looked around to check if there was anyone around him and to his surprise, there wasn't anyone. He concluded that the sound came somewhere near here and had a possibility that someone was here as that sound most likely came from a weapon.

He furrowed his brows as he entered the apartment building in front of him. As soon as he had entered, he suddenly spotted an old man sitting in the side while seemingly cooking a bird type mutated beast in his hands. The dead mutated beast released no smoke nor smell, while the old man released no aura. Qin Shang was became instantly excited as he looked towards the old man.

'Judging from the fire in his hands, the old man must be a powerful esper that has obtained the ability to control fire!', Qin Shang exclaimed in his head as he had stars in his eyes.

After all, it was his first time seeing an esper besides himself, and a strong one as such.

Being able to control elements means that he was already at least a Silver Ranked Hunter. The old man looked at him a bit and smiled.

"Oh? I didn't expect to see an esper in a Tier 5 City like this at all.", the old man suddenly said as he signaled Qin Shang to come closer.

Hearing the old man's words, he was a bit surprised but went closer to him. The old man looked at Qin Shang a bit and held out his palm. A piece of a black gem suddenly appeared in his hands as he stuck it out towards Qin Shang. Qin Shang understood the old man's intention as he took the black gem from his hands.

"Inject your mental energy into the gem.", the old man spoke a bit as he turned to towards his other hand where he was using his fire to cook the bird type mutated monster.

Qin Shang decided to do what the old man said as he injected his mental energy into the gem however, the gem quickly turned into dust. The old man's eyes suddenly widened as his eyes nearly popped out and stared towards Qin Shang.

Seeing the old man's reaction, Qin Shang thought that he had destroyed something important and tried to explain himself.

"Errr... I didn't mean to turn your gem to dust...", He carefully explained as he looked towards the old man.

However, the old man who heard his words nearly fainted with anger.

'Accident? Everyone wants to turn that to dust! However, with just a touch from your mental power, it instantly turned to dust! Yet you say it's an accident. Are you perhaps f*cking with me young man?', the old man complained and cursed in his mind as he looked at the boy in front of him.
