41 Supernatural Machinations - 15

Sona's eyes widened in pure shock, while Rias blinked a bit in surprise, "Huh, you knew?" she noted simply.

"You don't hide it well," Kaito replied blandly, "And considering you both called me out here together, there's only two options here. Either you want to take me out, which would be odd to do without your little minions or you're tossing me the recruitment pitch."

Sona quickly regained her composure, but before she could reply, Rias did in her place, "It could be the first one you know," she pointed out with a grin, "If you know who we are, you should know we're rather powerful high-class devils."

"And?" Kaito smirked at her, not bothering to pull his hands from his pockets, "If this came to a fight, I'd clap your asses easily without your backup getting in my way."

That was just facts. Both Sona and Rias were wizard types and while way physically superior to humans naturally, they weren't trained physical fighters. If he went full throttle to the max right away, he was sure he could defeat them both, especially considering the evolution one of his Twice Critical went through.

It was practically tailor made for taking devils like these two down.

Not to mention Arondight. Hell, with it, he gave himself good odds on cutting down both of them alongside their peerages. Or at least taking a bunch of them down with him.

Though if it ever came to that, he'd be slicing Hyoudou's head off first and not just because disliked the perverted tool. But because he was having none of that Juggernaut Drive rage mode nonsense bullshit.

"Well you don't lack for confidence at least." Sona noted.

"Must be quite the Sacred Gear you have." Rias' added, grin widening a bit, palpable excitement on her face.

"Something like that," Kaito shrugged, "Plus I'm well aware of who you two are, do you think I'd not look into you and be content to stick around here if I found you a threat to me at all?"

He completely bullshitted. Just a mere two weeks ago just one of these two would have folded him easily. He just didn't really have any other options until now.

"Smart of you Evander-san," Sona noted, pressing her index finger to her glasses and pushing them up, "But, there's a limit to what you could discover about us here in the human world without us finding out, you should try not to overextend."

"Sound advice, but I'm a little more competent than your average guy." Kaito replied vaguely.

Bullshitting once more. He was well ware of what they could do currently, for the most part. But not through actually investigating them himself.

"Which as you guessed is why we called you out here," Rias cut in still grinning, "Still, before we get to that how about we head inside so we can get a little bit more comfortable first?" she offered, gesturing to her club building.

"Lead on." Kaito agreed with a shrug. He may as well get some eye candy on the way after all.

It kind of annoyed him how long it took to walk through the gothic mansion towards Rias' 'office'.

The building was the size of a small school in of itself. And even when they did enter, the 'office' space where her peerage regularly met, was the size of three of his apartment put together.

If not four.

He was directed to sit on a luxuriously soft green couch in the middle of the room, facing another of the same with a table in the middle, 'This couch probably costs more than everything in my apartment put together.' he noted.

But nothing else. Anything else would be dwelling on that fact and rouse his greed. Making him easier to manipulate.

"So, I suppose we should get down to business then?" Sona noted as she sat down on the opposite couch alongside the busty Gremory.

"You're no fun Sona," Rias shook her head before shrugging, "But I suppose we may as well and get the important stuff out in the open, right?" she turned a beautiful smile on him.

'Her lips would look better wrapped around my kno-' Kaito cut his own thoughts off before they could stray too far.

Being alone with two older girls, one, objectively, decently attractive, the other out of this world gorgeous after he'd decided to let go of the hesitation when it came to dating…was a chore on his self control.

"No point beating around the bush I already know what you want," he forced himself to smirk at her and not be taken in by her looks, "You both want to recruit me for your little peerages."

"Yes, correct." Sona replied simply.

"Pretty much," Rias was more explanatory about it thankfully, "You always had above average magical power for a human since you started here at Kuoh, but since then it's risen explosively and is a match for a low-class devil. Oh, low-c-"

"I know how your little power rankings work." Kaito cut her off

"Oh, good," Rias merely grinned, "But yes, beyond that, you have the feel of a dragon around you which clued us in to you having a Sacred Gear. Initially, out of the three people here at Kuoh whom had the feel of a dragon, the one coming from you was the weakest until recently. Now, you feel the strongest and most dragon-like of the three."

"So I feel stronger than Simpy and Pervy," Kaito snorted looking from Sona then to Rias as he mentioned their pawns, "Forgive me if I don't puff my chest out with pride."

While Sona didn't even blink, Rias was unable to hide the wince on her face at the dig he made at her pawn, "…Yes, It's been made rather apparent to me that you don't have a favourable opinion of Issei."

Funny how her tone suddenly cleaned up and became a lot more formal and polite when her pawn came up.

As if she felt the need to apologise for him instinctively.

"Saji and Hyoudou aside," Sona cut back in before he could reply and directing the conversation back to the original topic quickly, "We know you have a Sacred Gear, would it be too much to inquire which one you have?"

…If Kaito had to guess and going by the way Rias talked about him feeling like a dragon.

He bet they thought he had a higher tier dragon type Sacred Gear than he really did. If he wanted, he could probably give them the run around by showing them his second Sacred Gear…

But honestly, while he could lead them around and withhold information, there wasn't much need to do. Anytime someone actually saw him fight with his Sacred Gear's, not only would he be outed as having two, but the power of his subspecies wouldn't be that hard to understand.

Rias did after all have a Queen who could use the exact same power if she so desired.

And, let it be said. He was not actually all that against becoming a devil. If it was worth his while. The only problem for them though, was that his standards had risen since he met Azazel.

Because money was something that while annoying, he had plans in the making to get.

'So the best option is to raise my value in their eyes then.' he decided and decided to go with it.

"Not Sacred Gear," he corrected the glasses wearing Sitri heiress, "Sacred Gears, plural."

"Huh?" Rias blinked.

"…Excuse me?" Sona asked, looking rather confused.

"It's pretty simple to follow is it not? I've got two Sacred Gears," Kaito's smirk returned, oozing self confidence, "Honestly I should thank you devils poor management skills for it really. I got attacked by one of your strays and almost died, thankfully I managed to pull myself together in the end, but apparently I was close enough to being dead that Gods system more or less considered me back in it however briefly and I got a second one."

And the bullshit flowed smoothly.

Granted that was more due to repetition at this point. He'd given Irina this story, then ironed it out a bit and gave the same spiel to Azazel. And now here he was spewing it out again.

Even if…technically, it wasn't a lie. His other self was still him after all.

"TWO?!" Rias shot to her feet, a look of absolute shock on her face. And of course with the sheer speed and force she rocketed up with, her huge tits jiggling wantonly on her chest.

Fucking hell.

Sona managed to control her emotions more, "…Two, I see that makes sense, it explains how the feel of a dragon increased so noticeably out of the blue," she mused, before wincing lightly, "And the reason why would be…our fault, apologies for the incompetence."

Her words registered to Rias and the redhead winced herself, "Ah…sorry Kaito, I had no idea there were any other strays in the area," she apologised, then turned to Sona, "Did I miss any memo's for strays in the area?"

"Not that I'm aware of, neither of us have overlooked a single stray since we came here, it would show incompetence to our siblings and be grounds for our return to the underworld after all," Sona shook her head, frowning, "Perhaps it was one not accounted for, some do slip through the cracks and evade the pursuit teams."

"I suppose, that doesn't make it alright though," Rias sighed and turned to him, genuine remorse on her face, "I apologise for our incompetence as a whole Kaito and I'm glad you managed to survive even still. Though, if there's anyway we can repay you for the trouble we caused, don't hesitate to tell me."

…Huh.

He almost felt guilty about her actually being genuinely filled with remorse and thinking they had caused him problems.

The stray thing was literally the only part of it that was genuinely a lie.

But then he remembered the stress from being followed around constantly by their peerages and how annoying it was.

And decided to run with it.

"Twenty million yen," he named a price, making her blink at him, "Paid directly into my bank account and I'll consider it not even worth mentioning."

Could he have gone higher? If his deal with Azazel was anything to go by, yes. But, he'd meet them halfway on this since he did lie about it and they could break even on the karma.

"Consider it done," Sona wasted no time in accepting. He'd give her this much, she didn't hesitate at all in pursuit of her goal, "Now, that aside, may I ask what Sacred Gears you have?"

He didn't like her all that much and found her pretty annoying with a far too large stick up her small ass, but she was pretty good at keeping the topic on point.

"Twice Critical," Kaito answered simply and held his right hand up. With just a thought, there was a flash of light and his black and golden gauntlet appeared wrapped around his arm, "And of course, Twice Critical." he added and repeated his actions as he leisurely stood up.

Only this time, it was huge black and gold metallic black wings that appeared standing proudly on his back.

Both heiresses stared at him.

"…Twice Critical?" Sona raised an eyebrow above her glasses, "Interesting. Doubling your abilities and then doubling again is quite the formidable ability. Though, that does not explain why the feeling of a dragon from you has not only surpassed Saji whom has one of the four fragments of Vritra or Hyoudou whom has the Boosted Gear which contains one of the Heavenly Dragons."

"Are you sure the second one is a Twice Critical?" Rias couldn't help but ask, examining him intently, sapphire blue eyes narrowed on his back, specifically the wings erupting from it, "Twice Critical are supposed to be gauntlets, since when are they wings?"

"Since it turned into a subspecies, specifically it's called Twice Critical - The Fallen Dragon Wings," Kaito explained, crossing his arms, "Not only does it allow me to doubles all of my abilities, magic included, it also lets me do this."

He focused his power into the metallic dragon wings on his back and the golden part of them began to glow brightly. A moment later, floating in the air around him, dozens of long spears of golden light hovered menacingly.

This was about his limit with creating light beyond focusing it into beams at the moment.

Both girls flinched back, "Light energy!" Rias gasped in shock.

"…How?" Sona stared gobsmacked, "That makes no sense. Even if the Sacred Gear is a subspecies it would still only gain abilities based on the Sacred Gear itself or yourself Evander and you are human not an angel in any shape or form."

"That's cuz you had a Cadre calling himself Satanael squatting here a few weeks back," Kaito 'casually' revealed, "I killed him and fed his corpse to my Sacred Gear and that's how it evolved into a subspecies in the first place."

Was it necessary to reveal what he did to Satanael? No. But, it did make for a mighty fine big flex.

And promoting his worth.

He was the prize here after all. He had to make them desire him that much to get as much as he could from them offer wise.

He could boost his worth even more by revealing Arondight and his dragon organs. But, he was going to keep that close to the chest for now. Especially Arondight.

It would be a pain in the ass to slap around Kiba if he tried to pick a fight over it.

As it was, it took them quite a few moments to digest what he said, they even had to sit back down and Kaito followed suit after dismissing his light spears and Sacred Gears.

"…So that's what happened to Satanael in the end," Rias mused softly, "I had wondered when the exorcist girl just disappeared off the face of the Earth and heard no news and there was no movement from him at all, especially after we dealt with the Fallen at the church."

"I see…so your boasts earlier about believing you could defeat the pair of us weren't mere bluster," Sona's thoughts were in a completely different direction. She shook her head and looked him in the eye, "Evander, as I have been told before…my behaviour when it came to you was poor at best as far as my recruitment strategy goes and I am well aware that you have a distaste of me because of it. But let me ask, what price would it take to have you willingly join my peerage?"

Rias blinked then gasped, eyes widening, "Hey Sona, no fair!" she pouted, "Skipping ahead of me like that."

…Huh, she really was getting right in there wasn't she? Honestly, he definitely wasn't fond of her for sure, but he had to admire the gumption to just get straight to it.

He definitely preferred that kind of thing.

What he wanted though, was something she wouldn't be able to give him. Not right now at least.

The trick to getting it though, was aiming for something much higher and having her talk him down to it as a 'lower' price.

But, what was something more bullshit than being promoted to High-Class status straight away, that Sona Sitri had even a slim chance of delivering on?

'Oh…that could work.' Kaito smothered a grin after a moment of thought.

"Well there is something I want that you might be able to grant me, if you can I'll join you." Kaito promised her.

"Name it," Sona replied bluntly, "If it is within my power, I'll give it you."

"Alright," Kaito nodded, "Then my dream, the biggest goal of my life. Is to marry and impregnate Serafall Leviathan."

There, that should do it.
