2 1. A Boy Named Bex

It was a hot morning on Tatooine, but then again all mornings and days for that matter were hot on Tatooine. This morning like every morning a family would wake, and prepare for the days work. Amidst this family was a young boy named Bex.

Bex was four years old. He was the youngest in his family. He had an older sister named Albi. Albi was the oldest child by three years. The two of them were the children of Marc and Deboora.

The family lived in a small moister farming village in the middle of the desert. Every morning the villagers would get to work on the collection units. Repairs, maintenance, collection and distribution were all a normal days work. After the work was done the children would play, the parents would gossip and chat, and the world felt right.

Bex, as he normally would, was visiting Char, the eldest of the village. Char had moved to Tatooine to retire from a life of a scholar to spend the rest of his days with his family. The main reason Bex came by Char's home every day he could was the massive collection of holobooks that Char had collected over his years of study and travel.

"What are we reading this time Bex?"

"The basics of mech building. Father says that if I score well this quarter and help with the chores he will get me parts to build my own droid!"

"Ohhh, I see. It would be good for you to have a companion young man."

Bex had always been interested in books more than the other children. The other children would usually make fun of him because he was bigger than most of them his age. They would call him names and would usually ignore him all together. His timid nature did not match well with his size.

"It's getting late son. Your father will be wondering where you are" Said Char.

"Okay Char. I will see you tomorrow!"Bex said as he ran out the door.

Hey had no idea how wrong he was.
