20 Those who were feared

"A descendant of sorcerers?!" One of the soldiers shouted and ran away, leaving his weapon behind in the dust.

The others that remained still on their spots had their weapons raised but there wasn't as much strength in their arms and legs as it was before, some of them torn in between staying or running.

Even though the sorcerers and witches have become a myth now that it's been decades since they were exiled and their existence was wiped from the Kingdom due to their increasing evil and dominance over common people, their fear is still intact in many hearts as the tales have been passed on from generation to generation.

It was a dark time when a herd of strange men set foot in the lands of Dnexaro. It was apparent that they were different but soon the 'different' became horrifying as people witnessed them doing things that they never thought were possible for humans.

Soon they started multiplying and spreading their knowledge among those who were fantasized by what they possessed. It turned out to be an alarming situation for the Pharaoh of the time and upon his orders, the process of their clearance began.

Many of them were publicly punished by burning alive or chopping off their tongues that they used to chant spells. Their literature consisting of books with spells and recipes of potions were gathered from every corner and were thrown into a big fire in an attempt to wipe off the very base of magic.

Some said that they never left and instead disguised their identities, some believed that they cursed the Kingdom with a vast infertile desert that seemed to be growing with every passing day and some feared that they shall be back seeking vengeance.

As much as Alec Preston was bewildered by what had happened, he was still aiming his revolver with one hand.

"Protect the Princess," He commanded before emptying the bullets into the body of the 'sorcerer'.

Hellion Duxsoro just stood there with a bored expression as he opened his fingers towards the ground and all the bullets came out of the tip of his forefinger, falling on the ground lifeless. His torn skin healed right before their eyes in a matter of seconds.

"Done yet?" Hellion asked, crossing his arms over his chest which showed a torn shirt but the blood dots had stopped enlarging over its fabric.

Seeing that it was of no use, Alec ran back and climbed into the jeep. He thought of getting the Princess away as soon as possible but it reminded his mere thought. Hellion was standing beside the driver's seat before he could even have started the jeep.

"Let's finish this, shall we?" With that being said, Hellion grabbed Alec from the collar, lifting and pulling him out of the seat as if he weighed nothing.

"No…" Claudia's parted lips let out a whisper which didn't go unheard to Hellion's sensitive sense of hearing.

Alec being Alec fought back but Hellion was swift in sending a few aimed punches to the spots that knocked him out immediately. His body fell limp on the ground with a thud causing dust to splatter in the air due to the blow.

Seeing their general passed out on the ground in the feet of the man who was certainly not from their common humanely race, the soldiers fled and never looked back.

"H-he took her." A man who was one of the fleeing soldiers, was bowed before the King and the Queen.

"Who took her?" The King's voice boomed in the empty courtroom while the Queen was carefully observing the trembling man.

"A s-sorcerer, he knows m-magic. He killed the general." The man informed them stuttering.

"Get lost." The king waved his hand and as soon as the man left, he let his head fall in his hands.

The commander has already left with a whole lot of men to look out for the general. As soon as the new spice of an unexpected event was thrown among the rebellious crowd, things had drastically changed. The demands of punishment quieted down somewhere in between the new gossip and terror of 'The sorcerers who took the Princess'. They were indeed some odd people.

The Queen placed her hand over her husband's shoulder gently but her focus wasn't on him. She was zoned out in space when her husband spoke.

"It is possible that she didn't run away but they took her to plot their revenge?" He looked at his wife, a burden of his daughter's accused betrayal lifting off but another one setting right in. "But how? After all these years."

"Don't worry, we'll figure something out." The Queen's lips formed a smile but her eyes failed to wrinkle.

Something isn't right here, she thought to herself. It can't be a sorcerer, how can it be? Because if it was, she would have known…
