The Summoning

In the land of Falmin, the days are long and dry. The sun beats down on the fields of seemingly wheat and farmland. For as far as the eye could see there was nothing but luscious forests beyond the civilized regions that cropped up. This place was a land of fantasies.

The Faye, Elves, Humans, and other higher intelligent races lived in peace within the civilized domains. Even the dragon race has been quiet for millennia. Naturally, in this peace, the humans doubled and tripled before building towns, then cities. They prospered, but other races stayed the same. They were ethereal and majestic, however, their lives were long and reproductive ability low.

Eventually, they could not keep up with the humans who sold themselves to accelerate their evolution. Demons became a part of the human race and they began to meld into one. The magical prowess of the demons, plus the physical advantage of being an adaptive human became a threat to all. So, the united council of old, which consisted of only mythical creatures, no humans nor demons, voted to summon a force from afar to assure their safety. Thus, this day would be called 'the summoning'...

----

A ray of golden light burst into the sky above the elven capital city. Dark clouds seemed attracted to this light as a storm began to brew. However, no matter what the light could not be blocked. It cut through the blockade of clouds and reached past even the stars. Slipping into the darkness which usually hid behind the pristine skies.

----

In a world of steel and fire, a group of six friends hung out in an architecturally advanced building that was sparsely populated.

They spoke with each other in a familiar tone and laughter echoed within the social space. It was an institution of higher level learning, but this was break time. Textbooks on 'Finance in Economics' were abandoned on the table between them.

"Hey bro... Greed!" One of the males in the group yelled out. "You ready with the homework? I started and want to go over a few pages in a little. Our teacher is such a pain man. "

The person named Greed looked over at the guy who spoke. He responded in an automated voice "Yeah"

"Come on on man don't be so down. You'll get a new phone. I'll help you with the math if it'll make you feel better." Another friend said.

The three went into a conversation of their own when a shockwave shook the building. The whole group grabbed for nearby objects to stabilize themselves. The other three came over to the others after the shaking stopped.

" Hey Greed, Ray, Liam... what do you guys think that was?" One of the three that came to join the others was a girl, a close friend. She was followed by a girl and another male friend who stood close to them.

" We don't know. " The three said in unison. Ray shakily stood up from the chair he fell onto and helped Greed up. When Greed got to his feet he looked over at the girl who spoke and replied with the others, but his eyes remained on her a little longer than the others. He looked away after a while and tried to figure out what happened along with the others.

They took out devices with glowing rectangular sheets of glass as their top surfaces before searching for answers.

"Says nothing for me. Does Fox have anything King? " Liam said to the fourth male of the group who came over with the girls.

King responded, " Nope... That shit was weird "

The six were perplexed as to what the hell just hit them. They didn't have to wait long before they got their response. The building began to shake again. This time it was three times as bad as the first time. The roof began to cave in as a blinding golden light fell through the ceiling and drilling down onto the six. In the next moment, they were gone. All that remained was rubble, dust, and a faint smell of cinnamon extract...

In the world of Falmin, elven capital, the golden column faded and the building it originated from came into perspective. It was the ritual center, where mages would go to train their Class-4 and up spells. It was also known as the legendary elven archive. Storing over millions of years of information, it was the most valued ancestral building in this world.

Within the archive, a room with black walls was illuminated by a massive golden 5-ringed magical circle. On the circle were five humans. This puzzled the elves who stood on the outskirts of the ritual channeling their magic, but even the high elders that belonged to each race. They would never guess that their summons would bring their greatest enemy to them.

The elven guards at the door tensed with severe killing intent. They were useless with the elders in the room though. Anyone of the old men and women could take an army on alone, so no guards were needed. Regardless formalities needed to be followed.

"Stand down." A powerful voice fell from the sky as two large eyes with green vertical pupils appeared. They belonged to a powerful existence since none of the current occupants of the room dared to move a muscle. The humans who laid paralyzed in the circle began to stir and within their minds, a world of never-ending blank space like they were standing in an endless white room. Yet before them stood a man in bright violet robes.

" What the ****." Liam gasped for air as he gained control of his body. " Ray, Greed, King, Skylar, May... You guys can move now? too right? "

He turned back to look at the five behind him. Approximately five hours ago they were in a lounge at their college and when the second earthquake hit, a bright golden light had swallowed them or well that is all Liam could remember. The roof was also caving in so for all he knows they were all dead now and on their way to heaven. But, the odd part was he wasn't alone when he appeared here.

When you die, don't you usually get judged alone? Why would his friends be here? Why would they be frozen around him as if paralyzed by some drug? He sat up and shook them to no success. He even grabbed Skylar's chest to test it out, but with no progress, he decided he'd not be a complete low life and turn his attention to the man in violet standing a distance away.

"Who are you?" He called out but received no response. Liam walked over to the cloaked person and reached out to touch him. His fingers had just felt the silk used to make the clothes when suddenly Liam found himself alone in a world of darkness.

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!" He was finally at his wit's end and scream out before a silver light appeared at high speed and penetrated his skull. He fell to the ground heavily while holding his head in extreme pain.

Information flooded into his mind and a world he did not know appeared. The same scene happened to everyone else in the group of friends. They seemed to have been in the same place but separate realities. Once the flood of information concluded, They each were presented with a choice or better yet... A silver tablet appeared in their heads and they could make out words as they appeared on it.

{The Paladin, The Saint, The Solution, The Key, The Blight, The Sword, The Explosion, The End, The Beginning, The Inclusion, The King, The Queen, The Pawn, The Fool, The Cursed, The Doomed, The Neverending Torment, The Betrayal, The Symbiote}

These seemed to all be titles rather than choices. This was all odd, however, they could all remember similar things like this occurring in novels, games, and myths of their previous world. So they chose something they thought would give them a helping hand. This situation was insane and crazy. But, if they were brought to another world then it's best to be powerful. Everyone had this thought.. aside from one of them.

They each chose and as if whatever brought them there was done with them now, the group woke up together in a room. This room, however, was huge and nothing like the one they knew before. It seemed as if they were in the medieval times of a fantasy movie. Around them were a variety of mythical creatures. A voice from the group of elven elders sounded...

"Was there not there not six of these humans earlier? "

He was right, there was now only five of them. In the clouds above the giant eyes closed and a voice drifted down from the clouds as if to respond to everyone's curiosity and bewilderment.

"We of this world shall now witness the coming... Before you lay. The King, The Saint, The Sword, The Beginning, The Explosion, and The Symbiote. But, be warned. The symbiote has Fallen." With this the voiced faded and the dark clouds dispersed. Everyone was left in a daze. The five friends had terrified expressions in realizing their friend might be dead. The mythical council around the lost humans were no better. They all felt cheated...

I decided to pick this one up due to just liking it too much. XD
