3 Salt Lake City

"Halt! " An elven warrior's robust voice echoed between the trees and seemed to penetrate into every carriage within the caravan.

Liam was the first to be woken by the sound, but the abrupt jerking as the wooden carriage came to a stop was no better. He got up with aching shoulders, not to mention a stiff back. He peeked outside to see why they had stopped, while the others were slowly aroused.

With him were Ray and King. The girls had taken a different carriage. After they were forced into that room back at the elven mansion place. They were stuck in that room for what seemed like hours. When finally someone came to take them out. It was a younger elf. He did not hold a cold attitude like the guards. But, he did not seem to be any weaker.

"What's the hold-up? " The voice belonged to King.

"I don't know what to tell you, bro. My neck is killing me. "

"I told you, you should have worked out with me more Liam. Sleeping on this hay is light work compared to camping on the ground back in Jesus camp"

"Whatever. . ."

"Focus. Go find out what is going on"

Liam complained while Ray bickered with him, but King wondered why they had been taken from the capital. If they were in a situation where they were needed as Ray said. Then why would they not inform us of any duties? In fact, he had the feeling they were getting rid of us.

The three hopped down onto the dirt road and were once again reminded they were not on earth. They were met with wilderness, nothing like on earth. If the images they found on the internet of their home planet was beautiful. Then this place was what people called paradise. There was lush green everywhere you looked. The birds sang joyfully and the occasional animal would appear. Speaking of wildlife there was something odd here.

"The animals here don't run from us if you ever noticed." King nodded at this observation from Ray.

It was very interesting. From King's perspective, it was because of the elves. There would be animals like foxes, sparrows, and rabbits that pass by the caravan. But, they did so as if to say hello. Ray mentioned they might do this because the Elves were always close to nature. It would make sense this way because even on earth these animals would run from anything larger.

This place called Falminë.

"Humans, I don't recommend you stray too far. There is a blockade ahead."

The voice that appeared was familiar. It belonged to Lerynr, the elven warrior who had helped them out of the house arrest back at the capital. He was assigned to them apparently. They call him Lee because his name is too hard to pronounce.

" Captian Lee? " Liam questioned. He was the first to get used to the honorifics of this world. After all, it was just like a game.

" There has been a complication, so just do as I say."

He was strict like the guards, but nice when you got to know him. Having traveled for twelve days with him they got used to his form of being 'nice'. His expression was grave as he approached from the direction of the first carriage. Theirs was the third in the caravan, while the girls were behind them. The difference was not much but for unknown protocols, the elves would travel with a few yards of distance between them so as they talked, the fourth through sixth carriages had just arrived and stopped in order. The girls walked over as Lee left.

May and Sky walked over to them. The two girls seemed refreshed and happy as if their trip was taken in a five-star limousine. The three guys had dark expressions once they noticed this.

" What's with the treatment difference seriously. Don't they hate us equally? "

Before they had set out. Skylar asked for a more comfortable setting to sleep. For some unknown reason, she was able to convince Lee, so he gave the two girls a passenger carriage instead of one meant to transport animals. Just recalling this made the three tremble. But, they could not direct their anger towards Sky. They tried but not even a hint of jealousy could be felt.

" Hehe. " The two girls giggled. But, their conversation was interrupted by a sharp crying sound. Similar to something breaking the sound barrier. The ground trembled and the first carriage exploded into flames. The shockwave tossed the group into the bushed a few yards away. An elven mages' charred remains landed piece by piece into the growth around them. They could tell because there was a blue mist that faded from his body parts, the mist contained strange symbols.

" Fuck... " Liam groaned as an unidentifiable head lay next to his. The pain from the landing was numbed by the fright and adrenaline that coursed through his veins.
