4 {Reverie Of Magic}

*Step*

*Step*

*step*

The sounds of footsteps could be heard all around. Lucious and Kyra walked alongside the bricked road amongst the crowd.

Kyra was the leader of this stroll, she seemed excited about this particular outing with Lucious.

And to know why she's so happy and exhilarated, we'll have to go back a few hours ago.

..….

…..

The castle's reconstruction was all done, all the soldiers looked exhausted and out of gas. The noblemen only gave them pitiful looks and laughed under their breathes, Lucious gave them a look that can be described as acute.

The noblemen scoffed with sweat down their faces and left without another word inside the castle. Lucious looked over at the tried, hungry soldiers and grinned.

He then entered the castle asking around if their was a kitchenette anywhere, which one of the knights happily guided him to.

As the knight guiding him through the halls of the castle, they'd have a run in with Kyra who just happened to exit out of the castles study. Lucious greeted her with a smile, Kyra's face however showed a bit of red and frustration towards Lucious.

"Hmph!"

A small sound of vexatious left her now sealed lips. She then walked away in the opposite direction leaving the knight a bit confused and lucious smiling widely.

As time passed they finally arrived at the kitchen.

"Here you go, sir foster!"

The knight solutes oh so vigorously. Lucious turns to him and laughs a bit.

"Please just call me Lucious, no unnecessary formalities ~"

The knight nodded and rubbed his head excusing himself from the room. Lucious began wandering around looking for the utensils he'd need.

After finding what he needed he puts on an apron. He then picked up a steak knife spinning it skillfully in his hand having fun chopping up some meat and vegetables.

An hour goes by, the soldiers lay on the grassy fields of the castle all warn out and exhausted.

"I thought we..were soldiers…not manufactures…"

"Relax…what's done..is done.."

One soldier complained while another expresses in words that they've done their parts. Suddenly lucious appeared above one soldier who looked curious and confused.

"Your right, what's done IS done. And to pay you for your efforts..I made a bit of reparations~"

Lucious said pulling a wooden wagon with sealed boxes on them. Each soldier individually got up and walked over due to Lucious waving them all down to come over.

"W-what is all this sir Lucious?"

"..well whatever it is, it smells heavenly!~"

One soldier questioned Lucious while another took notice of the boxes amazing aroma.

"If your all curious..then by all means help yourselves~"

Lucious stepped aside and allowed them all to individually take a box. Each soldiers jaw dropped after opening their boxes to only see well cooked meat from a magic beast and vegetables mixed with fruits giving off the greatest mix and texture of sweet and health.

Each soldier started to sit and eat scarfing down their foods. Lucious sat on a stone step and watched them all chatter amongst themselves as they ate. Suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder.

It was kyra holding a different grimoire it's cover was a deep shade of grey the symbols on it were a bright golden lily-livered chrome. It was captivating,.

"Just like the girl holding it~…"

"What?…are you ok?"

The words left his mouth without him even noticing, all lucious did was grin and laugh under his breath. While Kyra looked on in confusion and questioning his subtle words.

…..

Time passed and all the soldiers all left but not without thanking their summoned hero. Lucious accepted their gratitudes, while kyra looked on with a curious face.

"Color me impressed, I didn't know you were capable of compassion"

"Hah..you make it sound like I'm a heartless monster~"

Kyra crossed her arms glaring oh so intensely at Lucious. All Lucious did was smile deviously. Kyra let out a deep sigh and smiled back.

Lucious turned his attention back at her grimoire, then looked up back at her.

"Kyra mind showing me some magic?"

"Huh?…why so suddenly?"

"Call it my form of oddity, I like being indulged in any form of culture~"

Kyra tilted her head but a shimmer of light could be seen in her eyes indicating she's happy to demonstrate magic to Lucious.

"Alright, I'll satisfy your curiosity"

She opened the book slowly saying a phrase that echoed throughout the grassy fields, the wind blew a cold and silent breeze.

"𝔓𝔯𝔬𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔢𝔫𝔠𝔢"

Kyra extended her hand and opened her palm, suddenly a low dim light ignited a spark, then that spark bursts into a great golden flame.

Lucious stared in awe admiring the power of magic, just the heat radiating from this golden flame is enough to make even the strongest person dehydrated and weak to the waves of heat burning at the skin.

"This is called 'prominence' a magic spell invoking a powerful golden flame that was made to destroy demons"

Lucious sat there thinking about the meaning behind the name prominence, but what caught his attention more is the fact it was made to destroy demons.

"And here I thought the demons weren't involved with the affairs with the demon king?"

"They aren't at least not anymore, they were betrayed by the Demon King due to his cruel behavior towards sacrificing the demons for better and far more powerful creatures to summon to this plain of existence"

Lucious grinned sinisterly covering his mouth with his hand. Kyra looked at him confused once more, she then sighed making the golden flame disappear dispelling the incantation.

"Hey!, if you ARE curious about magic you should pay more attention Lucious!"

"Hm?, oh! Right, Right, wait~, are you perhaps mad that I'm not paying any attention to you empress kyra?~"

Kyra's face would have a deep shade of red, she'd lift up her head and hide her face away behind her book.

"D-don't call me empress…my father is still in command of the throne…jerk.."

Lucious snickered, and got up patting her head. Much to Kyra's surprise, but she welcomed it.

"..don't worry I am curious about magic, which is why I wanna ask you if you can show me anywhere here in this nation, if there's a shop that helps teach you magic, incantations, and alchemy"

"..you should've said that before hand, jeez do you like tormenting me?…•

"Hah, guilty~"

Lucious acting sly, Triggering kyra. But her face turned from frustrated to joy walking along the bridge. She let out a deep and long sigh, then turned to face Lucious.

"Well then..just like I said before..let's satisfy that curiosity of yours, follow me"

"Gladly Your Highness~"

"STOP!, THAT ALREADY!, JEEZ!"

Kyra cried out in embarrassment, while Lucious laughed aloud. This catching the attention of the townsfolk looking at the two in confusion and jubilation.

...

….

[ We are now back in the present time, Kyra and Lucious are continuing their stroll of the town. Lucious looks around seeing how lively the nation is even after being attacked.]

Kyra let's out a small cute 'Eep!' and runs off ahead of Lucious stopping half way near a shops window. Lucious catching up behind her takes a gander at what she was staring at.

"Come on!, this is the place!"

"Whoa, Easy there!"

Kyra grabbing hold of Lucious's hand dragging him inside the shop, turns out the shop sells scrolls, used grimoire's, and magic items.

Some of which peaks the Interest of Lucious, he took a walk around the shop while Kyra began to gawk at the magic items they have. Lucious stared at the grimoire's noting that most of these don't even come close to kyra's books.

That was until one caught his eye. As dusty as it's cover was, the cover was a hollow jet black, the outer layer was a silver, and lastly when he opened the book the words were all spells that sounded unreal.

"Hey kyra, mind reading this for me?"

"Hm?, oh sure!"

Though try as she might kyra had difficulties even casting the first spell in the book. She figured that it didn't have any form of magic. Lucious asked if it had any different properties relating to magic.

"No unfortunately, no signs of anti-magic, Spacial Magic, Sky Magic, nor Ancient Magic, it hardly contains any real signs of Mana either"

Lucious stood there a bit more curious. Suddenly the shop keeper came catching the attention of Kyra who put the items she wished to purchase on the countertop. While Lucious stood in place contemplating

Until finally.

"Ah, I see ma'am, you've chosen great items!"

"Heh~, your too kind!, besides these are only for traveling mainly!"

The shop keeper and Kyra seem to get along greatly. Lucious made his way to the counter top and placed the Grimoire down, the shop keeper looked surprised.

"O-oh!, I haven't seen someone grab a book from here in a while…and it's an old one pretty dusty are you sure you'd like this one sir?.."

"Yeah, it's gonna be the wager I have on my future~"

Lucious smiles joyfully. Both Kyra and the shop keeper looked at him with stern confused faces thinking he was joking.

"A-alright then sir & ma'am I'll check these out for you!"

The price might've been too high for both of them, but luckily Lucious managed to bargain with the shop keeper to the point where it became dirt cheap. Kyra kind of shocked of how persuasive Lucious is and stays wary of his cunningness.

Lucious merely chuckles at how on guard she was, all the while holding the grimoire at the right side of his waste. Slowly the sun began to set, as they made their way back to the castle.

But, If you looked closely though as they walked, the grimoire's cover eerily glows a dim dark black light, indicating it contained some magic.
