41 Never Leave His Side

The Red Moon is over. Roxus has a body that is sensitive to the existence of a Red Moon—no. Not because of gods or anything, but because the Red Moon seemed to be the beginning of all the misfortunes of her life. Daisy's appearance in the capital as Ariaster's new fiancée, the death of Eoin and Amaranth, followed by the destruction of their family, and their exile to the battlefield, and all the other bad luck that followed.

When a magus has trauma to something, they will become unstable. Of course, Roxus is also like that. Even after she became an Archmage, in her former future, she would need Lucifer to calm her body and mana, while trying to calm her own emotions. This time, coincidentally, she was also exhausted and she passed out because of that woman, so her condition got worse.

Roxus never sleeps well on Red Moon nights.

Because of that, she always spent it fine-tuning her mana circulation overnight. But that doesn't mean Roxus will only do training like that on the night of the Red Moon. When they were still training together, Roxus sometimes asked Lucifer to stay the night with her.

"Hm?" Lucifer blinked. He looked at Ernacht who didn't move even an inch in front of a wooden training doll. Now, they are on the training ground for the Bertia Royal Palace, and Lucifer has just arrived.

The training ground was deserted as the soldiers were all on standby. Some of the others even had to prepare and join the Imperial Prince to go and destroy the coup. Roxus and her family are ordered to stay in the capital to protect Cecilia, as well as to control the nobles who decide to take Cecilia's side.

"Oh," Lucifer remembered. In the past, when Ernacht experienced Awakening, he also acted like that. For days, Ernacht would stand in front of a wooden doll with a spear in hand. So, this time Ernacht pre-Awakening period has started. Even though Lucifer hasn't tried to train Ernacht, but as people say, a genius will not be left behind. Even if not taught, he will teach himself.

"Should I step in and die, or should I just leave him alone and feel my pride crumble to pieces?" Lucifer wanted to teach Ernacht with his own hands. The first time he saw Ernacht, his teacher instincts felt itchy. Ernacht was the perfect student. It is like a dry sponge that absorbs knowledge like water. But Roxus would obstruct any methods he suggested for Ernacht's lessons and training.

"My first goal is to get married. After that, whatever happens, whether I die or not, I will train that child," Lucifer decided and nodded his head confidently.

Lucifer then decided to start his training and turned around when suddenly, a black aura exploded behind him. He looked back, saw Ernacht immersed in a horrible black aura.

"Nacht?!" Lucifer was shocked. This fast?!

Ernacht's aura was so large and sturdy, it shocked various figures. Less than twenty seconds later, the dragons in the palace had gathered on the training ground to see what was going on.

"Awakening?" asked Juverin. "That Young Dragon..."

"Unbelievable," Orcen that appeared from another direction stopped approaching. This aura was so broad and astounding that he could not believe that he had just witnessed a historical event like this. The event where a talented Spearmaster experienced Awakening.

On the other hand, Samael who just appeared blinked. He did not expect that so many surprising events had occurred in this short time. The black aura stunned him. He was a master himself, but this level of strength exceeded even his current level. Who exactly is Ernacht? By now he already knew that Ernacht was not Count Croix's real son, but the strange feeling of seeing Ernacht made him very uneasy.

The black aura that exploded and engulfed Ernacht's body still didn't go away. This shows how powerful this Awakening is, and the result is that of a Master with extraordinary strength. However, this explosion of Aura had to be stopped soon. It would be dangerous if Ernacht lost his mind and hurt himself.

It was then that a figure floating in the air appeared. A soft lavender light, looking like clear water being slowly poured out began to envelop Ernacht's black aura. That purplish light was Mana, and its owner was none other than Roxus Croix. Slowly, the raging black aura started to subside, and now, Ernacht's body was only covered by a soft purple Mana which was also slowly disappearing.

Roxus landed in front of Ernacht, where the wooden doll that had been standing there had been shattered by Ernacht's aura. Ernacht realized, and as soon as he opened his eyes, he saw his older sister standing there with a gentle smile. "Ayunda?"

Roxus let out a sigh of relief. But quickly, she turned her head towards Lucifer who was turning his eyes to something else.

"Ayunda, I think I understand about Aura now. All my training was not in vain," said Ernacht calmly.

Roxus looked at Ernacht with a worried look. "Who taught my beloved Adinda? How did you become so strong so fast?" Roxus asked. Ernacht had to go to harsh training when he first wanted to be a Spearmaster in the former future. How could Ernacht be able to Awaken this fast without those training?

"Oh," Ernacht raised his eyebrows. "Nobody taught me, but if I can, I would like to mention that my teacher is Sir Lucius. I paid attention to his way of practising all this time, and followed him quietly."

Roxus turned back to look at Lucifer who was ready to run away. Did Lucifer let Ernacht copy him on purpose? Lucifer must have known that Ernacht had been watching him all this time, right? Roxus furrowed her brows deeply.

"I understand. Congratulations, Ernacht, you have made your sister proud of you," Roxus looked at Ernacht with a shaded, warm and sincere gaze, making Ernacht feel satisfied. "But after this, I want you to train even harder. Before you can beat Luci, I won't let you go and fight with anyone," said Roxus.

"Ah," Ernacht tilted his face. Does Roxus want him to be able to kill an Ancient Dragon?

"Adinda," Roxus held Ernacht's two hands tightly. "In the future, you can't take your eyes off Luc. Stay by his side, and consult with him about everything before acting. Even so, don't act alone. You must ask Luc to guide you at every opportunity. Do you understand?"

Ernacht then nodded understandingly. His eyes sparkled with joy.

"And don't trust Luc. If he tells you to do something alone, that means he's planning bad things alone, and you have to keep an eye on him so he doesn't do anything stupid," Roxus said then.

"Alright, Ayunda. I will protect Kakanda Lucius as you command," Ernacht answered seriously.

"Very nice. And don't hesitate to ask him for any help, whenever and wherever you need it. Once again, do you understand?"

Ernacht nodded confidently again.

As fast as lightning, Roxus turned to face Lucifer who was already kneeling with a solemn expression. What protecting Lucifer? By making Ernacht stick around Lucifer all the time, Roxus was trying to make Lucifer responsible for protecting her brother, not the other way around.

Roxus nodded in satisfaction.
