Leonid widened his eyes and then smiled sadly. The devastation on his face with all the regret was shown, but there was an apparent relief that made his smile stand out in stark contrast. He felt helpless.

"Why didn't you kill me?" Leonid asked quietly.

"Because I have," replied Roxus. At the beheading that day, Leonid's head had been separated from his body before all of Bertia's people.

"Do you hate me?" Leonid asked again.

"Of course," answered Roxus flatly. Her hatred will not go away even if she has gone to hell and back again.

"Have you ever… even if only a little… loved me?" asked Leonid at last.

"Yes," answered Roxus.

Once again, Leonid flinched.

"To me, you are the first person I care so much about besides my own family and friends," explained Roxus. "But apart from being the one trying to make me hate you, you've just become the one watching me with your pair of blue eyes from a distance."
