VOL 2 : 19

"I see you're finally smiling," Elvira mocked, sitting next to her on the couch. "So, what's the matter? You've finally moved on from him?" she queried.

51

"Yes, I would say that I've finally moved on Elvira. I'm content with or without a love interest in my life," Alyssa remarked as she rose up and looked out the window.

"I'm delighted you've finally come to your senses," Elvira said as she rose up and moved closer to her shoulder, adding, "I'm thrilled for you."

"Thank you, I've finally realize who needs love from someone when you can love yourself" She said smiling widely as she turned to face Elvira "I'm free, Elvira" she added then she hugged her. "I'm going out for awhile, don't wait for me. Okay" she continued but before she could go any further from the door.

Elvira asked "By the way, what are your plans after graduation? Since you know, we only have two weeks left before graduation,"

She then turned to face her "After graduation, I'm going back to my hometown to my parents' farm and staying there for a bit to recuperate and finish my novel," Alyssa said, smiling.

"Oh, that sounds excellent. It's great that you're finally going home after so many years of being unable to," Elvira exclaimed, clapping her hands in delight.

"I know," she said, "but how about you?" she inquired.

"I'm sure my parents will apply me to take the L.E.T exam after graduation, and if I pass, hopefully, I'll apply for a job, right away" Elvira stated as she sighed.

"That rapidly, with no breaks?" asks Alyssa, concerned.

"You know how strict my parents are when it comes to professional choices," she said as she hugged herself.

"It's okay, I'm here," Alyssa hugged her and murmured, holding her shoulders. "Can't you tell them how you feel about changing careers? Instead of pursuing education, why don't you pursue criminology?" she questioned.

"I just can't tell them," Elvira chuckled. "Besides, if I pursue criminology, I'll have to go back to school and study again, which I don't want to do."

"You do have a point, hehe, by the way I'll be gone for awhile, If you get hungry I ordered delivery for you, okay?" Alyssa chuckled and walked out of the dorm.

Elvira waved good bye, as she was about to shut the door when someone knock.

"It must be the food that Alyssa ordered, that was fast" Elvira said.

•Elvira p.o.v•

I'm delighted she's free and happy. She no longer has to be concerned about Clydesdale. She is free to be herself, wild or not.

Someone knocked on Elvira's door as she was ready to enter her room.

"Who is it?" she exclaimed, as she reached for the door. "It must be the food delivery?" she pondered.

She peered through the peep hole of the door before opening it, and when she saw who it was, she gasped and fanned herself.

"It can't be him, can it? Am I seeing things correctly?" she wondered.

Her smile faded when she saw who it was as she collected herself before slowly opening the door with a not so friendly greeting.

"Well, if it isn't Jayvee, and if you're looking for Alyssa, she isn't here," Elvira remarked, her arms crossed against the door. She inquired, "What are you doing here?"

"Wow, what's up with that attitude. Not even a hello to greet your visitor?" he asked cynically.

"Why would I welcome you when I didn't even invite you in, and you just came here yourself" she mocked, rolling her eyes.

"Wow, rude," he scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Can't you just allow me in while I wait for Alyssa?" Jayvee demanded, insisting on entering their dorm despite Elvira's blockade.

Elvira crossed her arms and stated, "I told you she isn't here, and even if she was, she doesn't want to see or hear from you."

"Do you still have a grudge against me?" he inquired, his brow furrowed.

She replied, "Ah, sure. Tinatanong pa ba yan."

"I didn't even do anything to Alyssa in the past, why are you getting angry all of a sudden" He replied.

"I don't want to talk about it" She said looking away.

He went out after saying, "Okay, if you're not going to talk about it, I'll locate her myself."

Elvira rolled her eyes and slammed the door in frustration as soon as he departed.

•Jayvee p.o.v•

"Tsk, what's her deal?" Jayvee rolled his eyes as his hands slid into his jeans pockets. "It's not like I wanted to come here in the first place, I only came here to ask Alyssa something important," he added as he walked out of the building.

Where is she? I'm curious whether any of the students are familiar with her, I'll go ask them. There's some over there, I see.

N: Jordan and Clydesdale were minding their own business when Jayvee approached them. He gently tapped Clydesdale on the shoulder, causing him to turn around.

"Yes, may I assist you?" Clydesdale gently inquires.

Jayvee asks sheepishly, "Uh, yes. Do you know Alyssa Miller?"

"Yes, we know her. She's our friend/classmate, what's your business with her?" Clydesdale asks, arms crossed once more.

"Oh, fantastic. Well, I've known her since high school, and I came here to ask her something important, so could you direct me to her?" Jayvee stated.

"Sure, no problem," he responded, as Clydesdale and Jordan gave him a skeptical look.

As Clydesdale and Jordan led the way, Jordan cast a dubious glance behind them at Jayvee.

Jordan leaned in closer to Clydesdale, whispering, "Are you sure his friend with Alyssa? What if he's a kidnapper or worse, a serial killer?" he wondered.

"If he was one, shouldn't he have killed us right now?" Clydesdale said quietly.

"I mean, you have a point," Jordan countered, "But Alyssa didn't indicate she had a guest coming over, especially not a boy."

"Stop worrying, I'm sure he's kind," Clydesdale replied, turning to indicate in the direction of Alyssa. "Here we are, Alyssa should be inside the library," Clydesdale continued.

"Thank you so much, and here," Jayvee said, offering them a wad of cash "For the difficulty," he said before entering the building.

Clydesdale responded, "Oh, you don't have to pay us. Glad we can assist." as he declined to accept the money.

When Jayvee placed his money back in his wallet, he replied, "That's very kind of you. Can I know your names so I can tell Alyssa who helped me?"

Clydesdale introduced himself and shaked Jayvee hand and said, "Nice to meet you. I'm Clydesdale Lawrence."

Jordan introduced himself also and shaked Jayvee hand and said, "I'm Jordan San Pedro, nice to meet you"

He shook their hands and introduced himself "Jayvee McCain, nice to meet you."

"She's widely known in the library, so if you're unsure of which aisle she's in, you can ask the librarian, Mrs.Krinkle" Jordan continued.

He waved at them and said, "Got it, once again, thank you." before walking into the library.

●Inside the Library●

Wow, such a wonderful library. I can see why she chooses this location as her go-to alone time spot now.

The librarian approached me and stated, "Hi, I'm Mrs. Krinkle. Are you searching for anything? Like fantasy, horror, romance, or educational literature," as she described the genres of books I was looking for.

I said, "Hello. I'm searching for Alyssa Miller. Perhaps you know her."

"Ah, yes," Mrs. Krinkle continued, "Miller, she's in the fantasy and romance aisle. Just go straight and turn right, there should be a sign that says Fantasy and Romance Novel."

I said, "Thank you very much, Mrs. Krinkle," grinned, and then walked in the direction she had told me to.

I finally found the fantasy and romance section after following her instructions, and there she was reading with headphones on.

She looks up at me with surprise as I carefully remove her headphones while tiptoeing behind her so as not to startle her.

She rose up and gave me a hug, asking, "Gosh, Jayvee, what are you doing here?"

"Hi Alyssa, I came here to ask you something important but we need to go somewhere quiet," I added as I gave her a second embrace.

She raises an eyebrow and says, "You want us to go right away?"

"We should talk about it right away," I replied as I nodded.

She gathered her belongings and replied, "Okay, hold on. Let me get my stuff and we will talk it over at my dorm."

I waited until she had collected her belongings before helping her carry it so that she wouldn't have to.

She took my hand and said, "Let's go"

As I nodded and walked with her out of the library, everyone on campus was watching us. She said, "Are you okay?" before turning to look at me.

I said, "Yeah, I am, but everyone are looking at us since we're holding hands."

She responded in a whisper, grinning and giggling, "Are you embarrassed?"

I answered, uncomfortably stroking the back of my neck, "A bit, I've never touched your hand before so this is a first."

"Well, while you're with me, you'll grow out of it," she remarked with a wink.

I must admit, I somewhat flushed when she said it. "But won't your lover be upset that you're holding the hand of another man," I said abruptly.

"Relax, I don't have a boyfriend, silly" she giggled.

I exhaled in relief, "Oh, wonderful. Because, I thought you had one."

She clasped her arms around my and whispered, "Don't worry, I don't have one, so you're okay."

She easily joined her arms to mine, and I gasped—this girl can make any guy fall in love.

After a short while of strolling, we arrived at her dorm. She unlocked the door with her ID, and we quickly entered.

She pushed the button to the third level when we entered the elevator. She then inquired, "So, what's this critical topic that you wanted to talk about in private?" as soon as the elevator moved.

"It's about Jelyn," I muttered as I leaned in close to her.

In shock, she exhaled and questioned, "What about her?"

I declared, "She broke out of jail and is returning for retribution."

She arched an eyebrow and said, "Are you for real? How did she escape from prison?"

I nodded, adding, "This is the reason I came here to tell you, Kyle knows that she's coming for you Alyssa, and nobody knows how or who escaped her"

"I thought everything was going great, we have fought her, why is she coming for me?" she muttered as she pondered.

"We don't know why she's coming for you, but we do know that she is planning something significant" I shrugged in response, saying, "That's what we believed as well, but it seems her bad habits can't be changed."

She continued, beginning to worry, "I'm graduating in two weeks and I don't want her to spoil everything. I already found my peace when she went to jail and I can't cope with her now."

I patted her head and said, "Don't worry, Kyle and the other FBI agents are chasing her down to make sure nothing awful happens to you, and I'm here to guard you on Kyle's command."

She smacked me and shouted, "How can I not worry when a madman is once again chasing me."

I groused, "Ouch! First of all, Kyle and the other FBI agents are chasing her down, and I'm here to protect per Kyle's command."

She stated as she exited the elevator, "They better hunt her down soon because I can't spend another life with that crazy, I've been scarred enough."

As she continued to rage about Jelyn as we walked to her dorm room, I quickly followed her from behind.

Elvira was waiting for her with her arms crossed when we entered her dorm room and opened the door.

Elvira praised, "Great! You brought him here"

In an effort to calm Elvira down, Alyssa quickly closed the door. "Please, take a seat Jayvee. I'll have a word with Elvira first" she said.

After a few minutes of them conversing in the kitchen, I simply nodded as they returned to the living room.
