7 I Remember

I remember when we were seven and it was the twins birthday. It was a big party in the packhall with huge colourful bouncy castles and many games of pass-the-parcel. We played for hours until happy birthday was sung with this amazing wolf cake with tiny figures of us all. It was amazing.

Their father lifted them both up for photos, one in each arm. It was a perfect birthday party, one that I could only imagine at that age. They were my best friends then so I had the biggest piece of cake and I went over their house for a sleepover that night.

Today is their eighteenth birthday and I haven't seen them in ages. Every year I text them as soon as I wake up but it feels awkward if I do. I pick them up in my car with a birthday doughnut and their presents. I just don't know what to do anymore.

All I know is that their birthday party is tonight and Sylver is officially becoming Alpha so I need a dress. Normally the dress code is club and teen party sort of clothes but as it's a more formal event we have to were formal clothes and long ball gowns. I love it because I'm crazy about dresses. I feel that they are so beautiful and make you feel beautiful.

Elena and I went shopping, we have strangely become fast friends and we do everything together. That may be because of Sylver ordering her to always be at my side but we are best friends, I needed one since I lost all my other.

Oh, I miss them.

We had been to a few stores now but nothing ws standing out to me. Elena picked her dress almost two hoursbefore but I just couldn't find the one for me. Hers is a short pink lace dress with a decent amount of cleavage covered in more pink lace. Let's just say it has a lot of pink but isn't slutty luminous.

Finally, in the last store, I find the dress I've been searching for. It is a baby blue dress that's quite tight at the chest and stomach before flaring out at the bottom. On one side of the skirt is a modest slit, showing a decent amount of leg and heel.

Elena went back to the packhouse, probably to consult the alpha on how I was doing and if I hated him any more than yesterday which I do. Somewhere deep down I wish for his safety and happiness in life but then the biggest part of me wants to claw his eyes out.

I sit on my sofa and begin to remember my past, my past with my friends who I barely see anymore but they always seemed to be on my mind.

"Essie, please stop running. My daddy isn't going to like me running this far into the woods. We have to be home by dinner as well." Alana yelled in her little voice as she ran after the small brunette, puberty had yet to start so she still sounded like a toddler.

"You know that the best view in Lleuad Las is from the top of the highest mountain, Alana." Esmeralda said in a duh voice, Alana pursued breathlessly behind. Their wolves had only just shown their colours and training had yet to start. They couldn't shift but stuff like body temperature and speed was beginning to show. "Alain, how far now?"

The blonde-haired little boy came out from behind one of the trees, scaring the girls into a big screaming fit. His best friends Angel and Romeo came out of the trees with an annoyed scowls.

"Why did you do that?" Romeo pouted, his wolf coming out for a growl as he slumped onto a large grey rock.

"I know Alain, it wasn't very nice." Angel said in a matter of tone, he was the protector of the group but still could be the fun older brother. He got them in trouble but always managed to get them out of it as well.

"No not that." Romeo quickly dismissed him. They were friends but acted like they hated each other because they both had a crush on a the same girl in school. "We planned to scare you together, he jumped out before the count of three."

"Guys stop, your making Alana cry." Angel ran up to them, breathless from all the running. He went straight for Alana, pulling her into a warm hug. "Don't be sad Alana, it was only a joke."

"Come on guys, I'm the delta. You can't disobey me." Alain joked but Alana broke out into a huge sob. Little tears pouring down her bright red cheeks. "I'm sorry Alana, it was just a joke."

"Yeah Al, we were only joking around." Romeo piped up with a worried look on his face.

Alana was a cry baby to say the least but she was her daddy's little girl. The boys were in the wrong in her father's eyes, even if there was a reasonable explanation to her tears.

"Its not that. I hate being delta blood." Her sobs made the others shudder.

They were powerful children in the pack being the Delta and powerful warriors children except for Esmerala. They had never said they were tired of their blood, it was their birth right and they dealt with that even if they hated the idea of living their lives in a horrible way.

"Mommy was talking to me yesterday, she said that because of my delta blood then I would have a high ranked mate. I would have to move when I find him, I don't want to move. I love Lleuad Las."

"Oh, I... I don't know." Esmeralda frowned at her only female friend, glancing around at her three male friends. "I don't understand, my mom said that our mates would love us forever and ever and would never make us do things we don't want to do."

"My mate will be a meany, he will be an Delta or above, maybe a high warrior of a pack." Alana whined.

"I'm going to a delta, I'm nice." Alain smiled sweetly at her, wiping the tears off her face. "I'm going to make sure you remember this is your home, no matter where you end up."

They could see the determination on his face.  

Alain went to work, pushing them out the way everytime they tried to see what he was doing so in the end, they sat back and played games. He coughed for them to look when he was finished. Angel and Romeo were in an intense game of Rock Paper Scissors, Alana was making daisy chains and Essie was attempting to climb at the tree.

There was a tree with the words 'Friends Forever' beautifully carved into a love heart. It was absolutely beautiful, he did good. Real good.

"Friends forever." Alain held out his pinky, waiting for them to grab it.

"Friends forever," they all said in unison.
