Chapter 1Her Present

Advika Suryavanshi

The gentle and warm breeze is hitting my face making my long black hair get all over my face. In case of any other girl, it would look like a shampoo or conditioner commercial but I am sure my hair must be looking like a birds nest.

Standing in the balcony of my room, I am thinking of my life, my past. How thing has altered in this short period of time.

After my high school, me and my family shifted to New Delhi where I completed my college.

Although the main reason we shifted is because of Papa's business as he launched a new branch in Delhi, but I was quite happy about this decision unlike my sister Anaisha who threw a big tantrum about that.

So now here I am,in Delhi with my whole family.

Advika house

Papa (Mr. Aditya Suryavanshi), is the owner of Suryavanshi Corporation.

Suryavanshi corporation is one of the top most company all over India.

Maa (Mrs. Radhika Suryavanshi) is a housewife.

Although papa gave her an option of joining him in business, she prefer giving her time in our upbringing .

She is a wonderful wife and an amazing Maa.

Now getting to my sister, Ms. Anaisha Suryavanshi. She is 3 year younger to me. Although we are sisters but we are poles apart each other. She is outgoing and a fun loving girl.

She prefer to stay outdoors rather than indoor, when there is me who can spend her whole weekend watching movies or series in Amazon Prime with my date, popcorns and icecreams.

I prefer wearing salwar suits whereas she prefer western outfits.

But no matter how many differences we have, she is my life.

I know she loves me more than anything in her life but she is somehow slow in expressing her feeling verbally.

But anyone can guess by her actions though.

I still remember, when we just shifted here, one day there is this guy in our neighbour bullying me by passing rude comments.

That evening Anaisha came home late with bruised knuckles which she successfully hide it from Maa and Papa, but couldn't from me.

Next day, I came to know from that bully parents that my sister went his house to "discuss" something which lead that bully to have a broken nose, a broken Jaw and a swollen eye.

She really did a number on him.

I never asked forgiveness from that bully parents because as much as I hate to say, he deserved it.

5 years !!!!

For some people it is a long duration of time but for me it just passed in a blink of my eyes.

They say time heals everything .

No !!!!!

Agreed, time somehow lessen the pain but it can never heal it completely, the scar will always be there.

I think every person comes in our life for a reason. Some will use us, some will love us and some will teach us a lesson.

My past describes me, Advika Suryavanshi, for what I am today.

I am not the same little and naive girl who craves for some love from a particular person.

As I said , every person comes in our life for a reason.

There are also some rare and amazing people who remind me that the past was worth it.

I don't regret knowing people in past because they gave me experience and lesson.

Those rare and amazing people are my sister and my best friends, Shruti & Nidhi.

After completing my degree in business management from one of the top universities in Delhi, I am now searching for a job.

As cliché as it sounds, Papa asked me to join his business which I politely declined.

Although I helped papa in his business sometimes but I prefer to do something on my own.

I want to be independent. Last time I chose to depend on someone, that someone crushed my whole world.

First Papa put a foot against my decision as he wanted his first heir to take his business but after some helping from Maa (papa's weakness), he reluctantly agreed.

But that's not it, he only gave me one year time and according to him, if I failed then I will have to join his company. I take it what I get.

Beggars can't be choosers.

I am not that much experienced in this field but I want to give my capability, my knowledge and most importantly, myself a try.

Little she know, that this decision of her will bring back the painful memories from the past which she desperately wanted to bury it forever.

Little did she know that her past is waiting for her, to be in her future.

The language used in the synopsis creates some tension that could engage the readers. You make use of adjectives to your advantage by writing them in the right places, giving information about the characters without having to straight up describe It to the readers. The presentations of the Suryavanshi family (aside from the protagonist) are not introduced smoothly in the story. The writing acomplishes to transmit fairly the personality and emotions from the protagonist. It manages to make the reader wonder about the main character's past as It seems to be something that still has relevance in the present. The two last paragraphs shift from ,1srt to 3rd person in narration and It appears a tad disruptive even if the paragraphs in itself are wonderful. While the different narrators and their personalities can easily be distinguished by what's written, the main tool used is plainly explaining everything they think and how they are, and therefore the story's pace becomes quite slow. However, I appreciate that the male narrator gives off the impression that he's somewhat poetic or romantic a side from being hurt. Mostly for the way he talks, and the reader is subtlely warned of his extremism/desperation. The story could benefit from some more little actions that show the reader how they are. In the chapters that follow (chp. 4 and up) the depiction of personality, opinion and vibe improves and the main character's develope more! Seems like drama and catastrophe are about to happen at any time!
