2 Chapter 2 - At the Cafe

Zam was already waiting too long for her Pat Yve, as promised to have dinner with her after a while because of their busy schedules. He did not call at all and neither did she. She was not able to have a decent meal the whole day, just a few bites of the egg pie her Personal Assistant, Cherry gave her during lunch time while she was into the final touches of the special event's menu the next day. She did not eat the lunch prepared for her by her Kitchen Cook because she doesn't have a spare time for it. It was a last moment decision to accept the said event, it is her bestfriend Mikee's 1st business deal with a foreign client from Hongkong and she can't ignore her persuasion because the hotel where it was booked cancel her reservation at last minute also due to techenical problems, how can she be naive of it wherein she can easily manage to privide a space for her inside her coffee shop for a few hours. That was the reason behind her busy schedule for this day and for Pat Yve to add more to it by keeping her waiting with an empty stomach, where do justice go at this very moment.

The long wait is over finally. There he goes, still into his business attire, looking haggard and hungry too. He smiles upon seeing her with a sorry eyes. How can she get mad with that look? Never she would do that to her Pat Yve.

"I'm sorry," at the same time kissing the top of her head. That was sweet.

"I am already used to it and it's been happening for the nth time," a serious joke from his Zam.

"Peace," with a finger sign.

"I am so hungry, let's eat first then I will tell you the story."

"Never mind, let's just eat and go home. I need a good sleep after today's happenings."

"I'll drive you home."

"I might fall asleep before I can get home and you still need to drive back at your place and looking at you now, you can't manage your sleepy eyes already."

"Ok then, your place or mine?"

"I prefer yours, it's nearer."

That's their regular word for the day, 'your place or mine?' After a sumptous dinner they just have their coffees while driving home. As usual. They took turns in taking a bath then went to bed. Not separately but in one bed. That's a natural thing for them but no malice please. Their parents know and are aware of their preferences. Though it will be so much joy if they end up together, both families wish for it but they won't force that same issue a long time ago. They don't want to risk the beautiful friendship they have but they are not loosing hope of course. One day they might just realized it, who knows.

No talking done, they just sleep. Once their heads hit their separate pillows, off they go to a good rest. It's been the scenario and they are already used to it but they never talk about what other people will say because their families are fine with it. They are both old enough to be responsible for their actions and take note, they are only bestfriends right? Tell that to the marines though!

Will this platonic relationship still exists in this lifetime? At least there is something beyond all that caring and being each other's priority. That long friendship has to go beyond that boundary, they have to clear that up so that people around them won't be expecting too much from them later and they just have to make a closure of being hopeful over Patrick and Allyza and no to 'and they live happily ever after.'
