9 Truth

"That's... that's a lie!" Avan, using his sword cut all the barriers in half with a single swing.

The mages that were creating the barrier all suddenly coughed up blood and fell on their knees as they all used the last bit of their mana creating the most powerful barrier in their lives. Yet it fell flat in the hands of Avan.

Avan dropped his sword on the ground and it caused a massive earthquake and the ground split into four. "I'm... finally strong and powerful... and you're telling me you all don't want it!? Why aren't any of you smiling? Why aren't any of you clapping..? I spent multiple years cultivating my strength to be where I am right now. This is what you all wanted me to be... To be strong, I no longer stain humanity. Yet... why... why do you have the looks on your face... ISN'T THIS WHAT YOU WANTED ME TO BE!?"

Avan couldn't see their faces of approval nor their admiration of him. They looked at Avan with a complete sense of fear.

He couldn't look straight at anything or move at all as each inch of movement he does made everyone back off. He couldn't even go near his mother as Atez was dragging her back.

Suddenly, Avan's powers all disappeared and the sky above cleared up into a blue sky.

Avan's armor disappeared and the tentacles that were connected on his back disappeared as the mana suddenly appeared in the sky and blew up, falling in a bright, yet small pieces colors of blue.

Tears.

That's what it looked like to everyone else and to Avan as his power disappeared. "Isn't this... what you all wanted for me?" Everyone stopped what they were doing as they finally heard Avan. "Power and mana... People hated me because I didn't have any of this. And I was tarnishing the rules that were created in the world... Now that I have them, why are you all looking at me like that..."

Carpei pushed Atez away and slowly crawled to Avan. Her strength was still gone from losing too much mana. "Its... alright Avan. You don't need any power anymore. We'll just live our lives far away from here and away from everyone. You're the only thing I have after 'He' left. I don't want you to disappear on me too." She reached out her hand to reach Avan, but then-

"Swords of Purification." An archmage then casts.

A bright white colored sword pierced Avan's heart.

Atez and Carpei froze as they looked at Avan fall onto his knees and cough up blood.

Three more swords followed, piercing his stomach and cutting off both of his arms.

"Entity Containment." The second archmage cast. Chains appeared on Avan's legs, body and neck. He couldn't move nor speak.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" Carpei and Atez both shouted.

Carpei tried to activate her spell before, her eyes began to glow but she didn't have mana for it. "Atez... PLEASE!"

"Magic Destruction!" By sacrificing a large amount of mana for himself, he both destroyed the swords and chains that were at and in Avan's body.

"What are you doing Atez? That man is clearly a monster. This city of yours is already in ruins. What do you think will happen if that child lives to see another day?" One of the archmages then began to speak.

"This is Carpei's son! I don't care what you do, but I will protect him with everything that I've got. He's still human within my eyes!"

"I don't want to fight you Atez. I only wish for the death of that child." He then began to move his hands in the air as if it was an incantation. "This is the only thing I can do for you Atez." A bright light then cleared up the skies, "Sword of Light Formation 10: End."

As if the light that was above in the sky took over the world, there were no darkness all around. No shadows, no darkness. Just pure light from everywhere.

And after a few seconds, all that light began to concentrate itself to take the form of a giant sword of light in the sky.

Atez began to set up countless amounts of barrier in front of Avan but it was just too late and too weak since he used up everything that he has got.

Carpei couldn't do anything as he watched Avan sit there completely lifeless.

The sword then quickly spun once around and disappeared.

A giant ravine formed behind Avan and his body was cut in half.

Yet he felt no pain. Avan looked at Carpei shouting and Atez rushing up to the archmages. His voice were light, yet it could be heard by everyone. "I'm sorry... mother..."

The light that was surrounding his body began to tear away his flesh bit by bit. Until... there was nothing that could be found.

Avan fell into that deep darkness, thinking of nothing. Yet he heard a voice, it was distorted, but it felt familiar to him. "I'm sorry."

And then a bright light appeared in front of him with a box in front of him saying,
