8 Shipyard

Will waded through the water in his new wetsuit, flippers, goggles, and an underwater flashlight. On LZ's island, Will had insisted that Sully and Felix buy him gear for free diving and swimming in general. One of the things Will has learned to enjoy is the wonders of the underwater world.

Once the water got past his elbows, Will submerged himself. The water was clear and blue, with the occasional green algae floating by. Will wasn't really in need of his flashlight since sunlight got far enough down in the water so that he could see almost everything. As Will neared the closest ship, he found an opening in its haul and swam through. Inside, there were barrels of gunpowder, chairs, chains, tables, plates, goblets, and chests. Will swam to the nearest chest, but a rusty, old, lock held it shut. Before Will went to look for something that could pry it open he went back to the surface for air. When he came back he found a metal bar and wedged it in the lock, luckily the bar was more durable and the lock broke with a clink. Inside was a flask and deteriorating clothes. Will took the flask, put it in a bag, and swam over to the table. Will grabbed the plates, cups, silverware, and anything that looked valuable.

He swam back to shore in a little cove where Will left his towel and communication device. Will wasn't exactly comfortable being in league with the man who almost got him killed, and Felix and Sully seemed like decent guys, even taking the time to teach him how to defend himself. However, his parents were also on the line, and they took first priority. Hesitantly, Will picked up the device and typed:

'I found valuables, what should I do?'

A minute later Will got a response:

'Find more.'

Will sighed and swam to another ship. This ship was half above the water, but Will entered it from under the water's surface. Inside, Will pulled himself up onto a set of stairs and pulled off his flippers. The stairs creaked under his feet as he ascended. On the next floor, it was almost the same set up as the last ship, but everything was dry. Will opened another chest, but this time there wasn't a lock, inside were different bottles of booze and a little bag of coins. Will took the coins and headed to another set of stairs to go outside on the top deck.

Outside the wind buffeted his face, Will looked around and found the doors to the captain's quarters. Will opened the heavy doors and walked around inside. In the middle of the room was a rotten bed that was about to collapse, and off to the sides of it were a couple of chests and a dresser with an old mirror. Will pulled out each drawer but there wasn't really anything inside. Will moved to a chest, finding it was locked, he jiggled it, but it wouldn't budge. Will stood up and looked around the room. Nothing was under the nightstand or in the drawers. Will checked under the bed and it's ledges and ended up finding one skeleton key. He tried it on one of the chests and it opened. Inside were journals, maps, and letters. Will spent the next hour and a half remembering everything he had found before finally heading back to Felix and Sully.

"You did good kid, you did good!" Sully beamed.

"This is great! You say you found all this stuff in one of those ships?" Felix asked.

"Yeah. Perks of being able to hold your breath for minutes at a time."

Felix and Sully then went off in excitement, "Turns out our information about this place was correct!" Sully grinned.

"Which makes that key of ours all the more credible. Sounds like we're plotting our course to the Bermuda Triangle," Felix said.

Will left them to look at everything he found and moved to a quiet place to send another message:

'We are going inside the Bermuda Triangle.'

Will didn't get a response, but he was positive it sent.

Day turned to night and they set up camp. As they sat around the fire, Sully summed things up, "Royal symbols, proof that this was an outpost, coins, and lots of silver and gold! Ya did good kid!" Sully beamed for the second time that day.

"Alright alright, enough with the treasure talk." Felix said, "So you say you can hold your breath for five minutes? Is that how you survived when we first saw each other?"

"Yup... So what's your guys' deal?" Will asked.

"We've known each other ever since he was a kid," Sully said.

"Taught me everything I know," Felix said.

"Well," Sully chuckled, "not everything!"

"And ever since, we've worked together to get in and out of trouble, get more contacts-" Felix said.

"And most importantly, money." Sully finished.

Felix laughed and rolled his eyes.

"Is it just you two?" Will asked.

Sully chuckled, "Why the sudden interest?"

"I don't know. I mean, I'm gonna be spending a lot of time with you guys, so I might as well get to know you." Will explained.

"Well, enough about us. What about you?" Felix asked.

"What about me?"

"Why were you even at the docks?" He asked.

"I went to watch the sunset and ended up falling asleep. I then woke up when your plane was coming in." Will explained.

"Speaking of sleeping, I think I'm gonna hit the hay," Sully said, getting up.

"You should probably do the same," Felix suggested.

"What about you?" Will asked.

"I'm gonna look after the fire until it dies down a bit."

Will lied in his sleeping bag and fell asleep to the sound of the crackling fire.
