The Feeding Phenomenon

"So when am I seeing you again?" I asked Elaine as we stepped out of the double doors to the outside of the mansion.

The running fountain at the center of the roundabout had a limousine parked near it, with a uniformed chauffeur standing tall next to it, and the manicured gardens behind it fell within our sights.

The warm glow of the afternoon sun streamed down on our faces, making everything bright and vivid.

Elaine, who stood in front of me, was dressed in a comfortable brown sweater and a short brown skirt that brought out her smooth thighs and curves.

She was a tall and beautiful girl with a heart-shaped face, a small pointed nose, sharp dark eyebrows, and cherry-red lips.

She had her long raven-dark hair tied into a ponytail, and her gold-rimmed glasses sat gracefully on the bridge of her nose, shielding her pretty gray eyes and giving her a cute and scholarly look.

She was the girl who was in bed with me earlier in the morning. A special friend of mine who attended my party yesterday with her parents and decided to spend the night in my room.

She was the daughter of the major shareholder of a pharmaceutical conglomerate worth billions of dollars that tied with Morningstar Incorporated, my company.

"Hopefully, next semester break," she placed an index finger on her chin and said thoughtfully. "And that is if Daddy doesn't want me to stay on campus." She pouted cutely.

"And why would he want you to do that?" I quirked an eyebrow at her words. "You only have a year left before you finish your program. Can't he cut you some slack?"

"Well, I don't know," she shrugged and commented mysteriously with a sly smile, looking at me with her gray eyes. "It's probably because a certain eighteen-year-old just completed uni with both a bachelor's and master's degree."

I sighed at her words and shook my head with a small smile on my face, "Sorry that my fortune would probably be the start of your misfortune."

"Don't mention it. I'm used to it at this point," she giggled and inched closer to me until our bodies were glued together, her chest pressing on my chest. "Besides, you've paid me more than enough for my future troubles." She whispered with a coy smile, her voice seductive and tantalizing.

"If you say so." I gently held up her chin with my fingers and whispered softly with the same smile, holding her gaze which held emotions that were different than usual.

Elaine and I were close friends, close in the sense that we sometimes had purely casual sexual relations. This meant that there were no strings attached, nor were there any forms of emotion or romance.

It was purely based on mutual lust. But something was different this time. There was affection in her eyes. It was as if she was now seeing me in an entirely different light.

My eyes shifted slightly to glance at her neck. There was a fading outline of a distinct mark that looked like a star or a mouth with teeth. This mark was the cause of the new budding emotion.

Something that came as a result of my feeding...

"Are you going to kiss me or what, Michael?" She asked, her eyebrows narrowing playfully at me. "You know you can't keep a girl waiting forever right?"

"Oh, where are my manners?" I asked rhetorically and bent my head down to kiss her gently, enjoying the sweetness of her strawberry lip gloss. "I apologize for the wait." I said softly as we separated, a charming smile on my face.

"Humph, you are forgiven," she harrumphed with a playful smile and took a step backward. "Just make sure you don't repeat it next time."

"Don't worry, I won't." I chuckled and assured her.

She nodded, turning to descend the concrete entrance stairs that would send her down to the limousine waiting for her below, "Goodbye, Michael. Until next time." She waved goodbye to me as she began her descent.

"Bye-bye, Elaine. Safe travels." I waved to her in turn and watched as she flashed me one last smile and entered the car after the chauffeur opened the door for her.

The chauffeur quickly went to the driver's seat and after a few seconds, the car set off, traveling on the paved road on my right.

Seeing it leave, my smile dropped, and I turned to walk back into the mansion. My luxuriously decorated living room greeted me upon entry, but I ignored it and took a right turn through an archway that led into a hallway.

Walking down the carpeted hallway with cream-colored walls adorned with geometrical and colorful wallpapers and lined with an extensive range of art pieces, my thoughts went back to my first 'feeding'.

It was an out-of-this-world experience, something I could hardly put into words. The simplest way I could describe it was imagining your veins being pumped full of liquid cocaine for three minutes straight.

And then multiplying that feeling by a factor of one hundred. Draining the bio-energy of Elaine was just like that.

It was like the sweetest drug mixed in with the heartiest meal, providing both satisfaction and pleasure of the highest order.

At that moment, I could hear my body and even my cells screaming happiness as I drained her energy, imploring me to suck everything out of her to the last drop.

The feeling was dangerously addictive and almost impossible to resist, but I already knew that was going to happen so I was able to force myself to let go the moment I saw her getting pale.

It was a test run, so I couldn't drain any amount that would have sent her into critical condition or even death. What I took was enough to satisfy my urges and start the cycle.

The amount was also enough to test empower me and give me a feel of my powers. Right now, I felt stronger, faster, more perceptive, and more robust than ever before.

I hadn't gotten the chance to test out my enchantment fully, but the fact that I managed to twist the silver doorknob out of my bathroom door with minimal effort was proof enough of my empowerment.

Plus, as documented by my father and some of my predecessors who manifested the ability, anybody I drained or absorbed energy from would feel an emotional connection to me.

Something I'd observed from Elaine. It was a connection that, according to them, would increase the more I absorbed energy from them.

The connection had the potential of reaching a point where they'd fall deeply in love with me, so much so that they'd do virtually anything I'd tell them to do.

Essentially, they'd turn into my own lovesick slaves. Like a vampire and its thrall. A very fascinating phenomenon.

There was more to my power, so much more. I had the potential to do much more things that would make this look like parlor tricks.

Things that could enable me to break and bend the laws of physics as easily as chewing bubblegum. But all those things would have to be placed on hold momentarily.

For now, there was something important I had to do first. Something my father should've done years ago.

I came to a stop in front of a blank wall that marked the end of this hallway and placed my left palm at the center of it.

A small beeping sound resounded, and that part of the wall slid apart mechanically to reveal a small interface that blinked on.

The next moment, a small red wave of light fell on my face. It moved from my chin to my eyes, and then stopped at my forehead.

Then it disappeared, and the interface disappeared as that part of the wall slid back to its position, making the wall look as normal as a wall could be.

The next second, a vertical line appeared on the wall that divided into two equal halves, and mechanically, the wall opened like an elevator door sliding apart with the sound of air being released as a cold gas flowed out sharply from the room.

Looking into the room, the corners of my lips curled up into an excited smile, "It's time to see if the past five years of my life weren't wasted."
