4 Chapter 4

"Alright, they are still people in the city. Now, since I'm not exactly part of the locals, I'm going to need to fly down with you so that they won't..." Jetray's words were interrupted, as his now widened eyes fell on an individual that shot up into the air above them.

"LOOK OUT!" Said Jetray as he pushed Armin away before flying back slightly, avoiding a downward slash in the process. Now standing in the middle of both of them, with swords in both hands, was a rather short boy that wore the same clothes as Armin and Mina. He has a slim build, gray eyes, and brown hair that was distinctively kept shaved. Upon seeing the boy properly, Armin's eyes widened.

"Connie?" Asked Armin in shock.

"You know this guy?" Asked surprised ben.

"Armin, are you alright?" Asked Connie with a worried expression as he turned back to look at the latter.

"No thanks to you." Said an annoyed Jetray.

"Stay back. I don't what the hell you are, you freaking bird. But I'm not letting you get any closer to my friend." Warned Connie, pointing the blade at his left hand to Jetray.

"Connie right? Listen, Armin isn't in danger. I was never going to hurt him." Said Jetray holding up his hands.

"And why should I believe you freaking bird?" Questioned Connie, not believing Jetray in the slightest.

"Because he's telling the truth." Said, Armin. This caused Connie to look back at Armin with surprise.

"Huh? Armin, what do you mean by that?" Asked Connie.

"He took down from one of the rooftops to a safe place. He explained to me that he was here to help, and wanted me to go along with him so that I could guide him on how to better help the people still in the city." Explained Armin. Connie remained silent, looking at Armin, then Jetray, then Armin again.

"Even if I was to believe all of that is true, what happened to the rest of your squad?" Asked Connie. Armin's eyes suddenly widened, as he once again seemed to be coming to a sudden realization.

"Oh, man." Said Jetray through gritted teeth, dreading what was coming next.

"Those..." Began Armin as he fell to his knees. His hands clenched into fists rested on top of his lap. His entire body was shaking, and his eyes became watery.

"Of the 34th Training Corps Squad.." Armin's voice began to crack.

"Thomas Wagner, Nac Tias, Mylius Zeramuski, Mina Carolina, and Eren Jaeger." A lump suddenly formed in Armin's throat, almost as if the next sentence couldn't make itself heard.

"All accomplished their duties and were heroically killed in battle." Shouted Armin, now crying.

"No..." Said Connie in a low voice of horror. Jetray's eyes became somber, and he walked towards Armin, kneeling once more as he placed his hands on his shoulder.

"I know I already apologized before, but I'm sorry you had to go through what you did. I can't even go through what you must be going through, losing your comrades the way you did." Jetray looked away from Armin as he said this as if struggling to find the strength to say what he had in mind next. But through sheer strength of will, Jetray established eye contact with Armin.

"But if it gives you any comfort, I want you to know that one of them isn't dead." Comforted Jetray with a small smile. This caused Armin to look up at Jetray wide-eyed, his tears coming to a stop.

"Mina. She's still alive." Armin looked at Jetray in disbelief.

"But that's not possible. Armin said he saw her die." Said Connie as he also found it difficult to believe.

"It is. Because I saved her." Stated Jetray as he got back to his feet.

"What?" Said, Connie. I

"It's true." Said a new voice. This caused the three teens to look behind Connie, and upon doing so, their eyes widened. Coming down from the air was Mina alongside two other girls also dressed in the same clothing as her. The first was a small, petite young woman. She had long blonde hair, large blue eyes, and a heart-shaped face. The second was a tall, slender young woman with short, shaggy black hair parted down the middle. She had deeply intimidating gray eyes and freckles on her cheeks. Her hair was kept in a low ponytail with a white tie.

"Mina?" Said Armin, shocked to see her alive and well. Connie's mouth was also opened wide in surprise.

"He saved my life." Said Mina with a smile.

"Yeah, he saved my life too." said the blonde girl.

"Nice to see you in one piece." Said Jetray with a smile of his own. He then looked towards the girls by her side.

"And you're with friends too. Good call."

"Jetray, They're part of the cadets." She pointed to the girl at her right when she said Krista; she's the blonde one. And she pointed to the girl at the left she said Ymir; she had black hair.

"Nice to finally meet you. I am Christa Lenz and she is Ymir. Thank you for saving our friend and mine. And sorry for what happened before." Said Krista with a warm smile.

"Gotta say, you're a lot more ugly in person. But thank you for saving my girl's life." Said Ymir with a snicker.

"Don't mention it, and I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that." Said Jetray.

"I could care less how you feel. Just what the hell are you and what's your aim?" Asked Ymir in a tone of defiance.

"First off, rude much? Secondly, I'm an alien. I've already gotten the gist from Armin that you guys may not know what an alien is, so don't bother me about that until later. This brings me to my final point. My goal is to be a hero, I just want to help." Said Jetray, not letting Ymir's provocation get to him.

"So we've heard. Though I'm thinking that you've got a lot more screws loose in that head of yours if you bothered to save that incompetent wreck over there." Said Ymir with a condescending tone in her voice as she looked toward Armin. This caused them to grit their teeth as he let out a low growl in rage.

"Wow. Hasn't been up to a minute since we met each other, and already can't stand you." Said an annoyed Jetray.

"The feeling's mutual freak." Quipped Ymir.

"Stop it, both of you!" Shouted Krista as she stood in front of Ymir, her hands stretched out.

"I'm sure we're all just shaken up. A bunch of our friends is suddenly dying after all." Said Krista in a shaky voice, almost as if she was struggling to maintain her confidence.

I went to her and said, " You, why the heck you are sacrificing yourself for others."

"I - I just wanted to save people," Christa said to him lowering her head.

"No, you just want to die. But remember you just escaping from your responsibilities. You should not die for others like an idiotic. You won't get a second life and your not that lucky too." hearing his words she didn't say anything because she did this all to die. But this Jetray stopped her now and scolded. She doesn't know this feeling but someone showed kindness to her. But still, she can't believe his kindness because in her life she never felt kindness from others.

"You are a right freak!" She shouted. Suddenly, Ymir wrapped her right hand around her shoulders.

" Krista listen to this freaking bird!" Shouted Ymir with a broad smile and her eyes closed. Ymir felt happy for hearing his words. 'Yes, she should mock them by living happily not dying for others.'

"True, she's screwing around more than usual." Said Connie with a scoff at seeing Ymir.

"We don't have any more time to waste. I don't know how long until we have to deal with more Titans. But I do know that they're people down who need our help. So I'm going, and I'd appreciate some backup along with it." Said Jetray as he took to the sky.

"you look like shit." Said Jetray as a small dig towards Ymir before he flew away.

"Bastard." Said an annoyed Ymir.

"This day couldn't get any stranger." Mumbled Connie.

"As much as I'd want nothing more than to learn more about this Jeffrey guy, he has a point. We have a job to do, and I'm not going to just stand around while the Titans plunge this city to hell." Said Connie with conviction. He then pressed a button on the handle of the sword in his right hand, causing a line to shoot out from the silver pack on his right. As he did this, a burst of gas shot from his back, propelling him off the rooftop and towards where Jetray flew off to.

"Right!" Shouted both Krista and Mina as both similarly left the roof with Connie.

"Hmph." Said Ymir as she crossed her arms. She then let out a sigh before she left the rooftop as well. All that remained was Armin, whose tears had long since dried, but the look of uncertainty remained. At first, he only simply looked at where his friends had taken off to. But after a few fleeting seconds, his expression changed into one of silent
