Noelle moved quickly. She was slightly eager to see the man waiting outside for her. But why did she suddenly care? Just a little while ago she didn't want to be anywhere near the pervert. Now she was fantasizing about him? She was the pervert now. Was it her heart he attracted? Or was it her body? She couldn't decide.
Noelle slipped on her robe and grabbed the gifts Haru intentionally left behind. It was hard for her to accept them when she didn't have anything to give in return. She left her room and walked through the common area. There was a heavy knock on the door, she went to open it.
Haru's eyes blazed with excitement as he set his sight on the carefree woman in front of him. Her hair was tied up at the top of her head, revealing the hints of pink creeping up her ears. She wore a lavender satin robe that reached just below her pelvic area. Was she wearing anything under that? Haru refused to believe that after everything they've done, she could still be so oblivious of what the sight of her did to him. Her looks, her scent, the pitch of her voice, everything about her appealed to all of his senses.
Noelle felt naked under Haru's fervent gaze. She decided to take the attention off of herself. She extended her hands, looking away "You left these here. I told you to take them with you, it's too much."
Haru wordlessly accepted the bags from Noelle and placed them on the floor beside them. Noelle watched as the confident man held her hand in his and raised it to his mouth. He placed a kiss on her knuckles. It was an act Haru didn't think much of until he caught a whiff of an even sweeter aroma than what her skin usually produced. He was curious. With her hand still raised to his lips, Haru looked at Noelle. He moved her hand so that he was able to slip her index finger in his mouth. He licked the tip and then bit it lightly. Savoring the residual sweetness. He couldn't wait for the day he'd be able to fully indulge in the sweet syrup her body created for him.
Noelle pulled her hand away "What are you doing?"
Haru crossed his arms and leaned against the doorway. He raised his brow "I should be asking you that."
Noelle opened her mouth to speak but Haru interrupted "Your hands taste as sweet as they smell." What did that mean? Wait, could he really taste…it? She forgot to wash her hands.
Haru entered the apartment and towered over Noelle. He slid the back of his fingers down her cheek and then guided his hand towards her neck. He gripped it tightly but not as tight as the first time they met. Noelle placed her hand on his wrist, as if warning him not to squeeze any tighter. Although she somewhat enjoyed the pain he gave her, she never wanted to be in that dangerous death hold again. It was too tight for comfort.
With his hand still around her neck he used his thumb to raise her chin. He leaned in as if going for a kiss. Noelle's eyes fluttered closed as she waited for the warm sensation yet to come.
Haru smiled and bit his lip softly. With a proud tone he finally broke the silence "Look at you, all ready for me. Were your thoughts of me enough to satisfy you? Or do I need to be the one to help you finish?"
This time he did lean in but instead of kissing Noelle, he pulled her bottom lip between his teeth and sucked on it. Embarrassed, Noelle forcefully pushed Haru away, and he let her. She took a couple steps back.
"If that's all you came here for then you can leave now." She crossed her arms and looked at her foot as she lightly tapped it on the ground.
It looked almost as if she was disappointed that Haru didn't kiss her.
Haru invited himself in and slipped off his shoes "I came here for you; go get your things. You're going to be living with me from now on."
Noelle was irritated with his commanding tone. She was a grown woman, why was he always trying to tell her what to do?
"Do you even hear how you sound? How do you expect me to move in with a complete stranger? I'm going to say this again so maybe you'll understand. I don't know you and you don't know me either. Even if I did, I wouldn't leave behind my dear friend for some man I just met. The only place I'll be moving to is my new apartment when I buy one."
Noelle stopped to catch her breath. She managed to get her rant out as quickly as possible, forgetting to breathe in the process. It was her best attempt to prevent any chances of Haru interrupting her and it worked.
There was a moment of silence but Haru wasn't bothered. He checked his watch and then decided to speak.
"If you're finished, I'll talk now."
Arrogant asshole. Did he listen to a word she said?
"Adelaine Noelle, no middle name, age 24, height 168 centimeters *(5'6)*..."
Haru fixed the cuffs on his sleeves and continued "...moved to Japan at the age of nineteen after the death of your mother. A lovely woman born and raised in Japan. You moved here hoping to adjust to the culture she tried to raise you in I presume. Your father, African American currently living in New Jersey. You and your friend here have been friends for four years now. Based on your attire every time we meet, it's safe to assume your favorite color is purple. Preferably lavender."
Noelle's eyes widened as she stood across the man speechless.
"You may not know me but I know you."
Noelle was creeped out, how did he know all of this information? There was no way he was able to dig up this much information on her without using some sort of underhanded method.
"How the hell do you know all of that?! You think that was supposed to help your case? I'm not going anywhere with you."
Haru rubbed his temples and sighed, he expected her to object so he came prepared with a back-up plan.
"Let's make a deal then. You come work for me starting Monday and I'll postpone your move in date." He wanted her to feel as if she was making the big decisions.
"Huh? What do you me "lets? That's a complete win-win situation for you. No, I refuse."
Haru prepared for that response too. He lightly lifted his head up and looked down on Noelle "You refuse? Well then where will you work?"
"What do you mean where? I work at the 7-"
"Not anymore, you were fired. A strange coincidence isn't it?" Haru smiled victoriously. He knew had just won.
Did he really get her fired just so she could work for him? Why would he do something so childish?
Noelle was angry "Haru you...you can't go manipulating other people's lives to cater to your own! You think just because you have money and power that you can prance around doing whatever the hell you want?! Who do you think you are? If you have some sort of crush on me, this was definitely the wrong way to act on it. You're going to call my manager and you're going to get my job back."
Haru loved the fire blazing in her eyes and he loved the way his name bounced off of her tongue. He didn't care that she was angry, he did what he had to do to get the results he wanted. The way she attempted to spit harsh words amused him. She was too adorable for him to take seriously.
He decided to vex her instead "I love the way you say my name. Say it again."
He was adding fuel to the fire, he knew just what to say to push Noelle's buttons. It was taking everything in her not to explode. She took a deep breath before continuing "Please just show yourself out."
Noelle looked up "No? What do you mean no? I said leave."
Haru took a step closer "I mean exactly what I just said. You listen to me, not the other way around."
Haru loosened his tie "Maybe I need to show you again who makes the rules."
He went to take another step forward but paused as his phone rang. He reached in his pocket and then placed the phone against his ear. He turned so that his back was facing Noelle.
"What is it?"
"Okay, I'll be there soon."
He hung up the phone and sighed. He moved his body so that he was looking at Noelle.
"I have to go now, something came up at work."
He eyed the woman as she stood there quietly. The once excited Noelle was just glad the Ceo was leaving. She was too irritated to speak.
Noelle turned on her heel and walked away.
"Still playing hard to get?" Haru reached Noelle and turned her around by her shoulders. He pulled her into his chest. She didn't object, she instead sighed and leaned into the man holding her. He got on her nerves but she still enjoyed his arms around her.
Haru pulled away and placed a tender kiss on her cheek. He allowed his lips to linger for a moment before removing them.
"I noticed there isn't a car in your driveway, do you not have one?"
"Not yet, I usually take the train or the bus when I have to go somewhere."
Haru checked his watch, he couldn't stay much longer "We'll talk more about it later. I expect to see you in my office at 12:30 p.m on Monday." he turned and headed towards the door. He slipped his shoes back on.
"What is it?" he glanced at Noelle, his hand already on the door knob.
"The bags, please take them."
Haru frowned, she really wasn't going to accept them?
He picked up the bags on his way out "I'll save them for you."
