18 Chapter 17

Reza sat himself on the sofa in his mommy's living room who was still being treated at the hospital. Fania's condition is still unstable so he still needs treatment and control from a doctor. He is not alone, beside him is Laras who is now folding some of Fania's dirty clothes into a bag that Reza will take home to be washed by Lin's aunt.

"Laras? Sorry in advance. But if we're alone like this, I won't call you sister." He said who was now watching Laras's every movement of agile hands.

"Aren't you tired?" asked Reza who was now concentrating on his right cheek using his hand, keeping his face towards Laras.

"No, I'm not tired at all. Why?"

Laras smiled and shook her head.

"Ow yeah, you too Laras. If I remember, today is the last day you run out of vitamins right? I already bought a new one." Reza put a small bottle that was exactly the same as the bottle he gave Laras last time.

"You remember? I was just about to go to the pharmacy. Those vitamins are really good, you shouldn't have bothered Reza."

"It's okay, remember. Don't be too tired. I'll go first, if I have time I'll come back here." After giving the vitamins to Laras, Reza actually left the room leaving Laras and Fania of course.

Laras glanced at the clock on the wall in the room, and it was time for the in-laws to eat the food provided by the hospital and take medicine as usual. Laras slowly took the tray he brought to the small nightstand near her mother-in-law's bed.

"Madam eat first, okay?" Laras said slowly lifting a bowl that only contained rice porridge which looked very mushy.

"Hehhhh... I can do it myself. And one more thing, don't call me madam again, the last time Steven heard him, he scolded me all the way."

"Then what should I call?"

"It's up to you, I don't care."

"T-then, mommy?" Laras said doubtfully but didn't get a response from Fania, maybe it's okay Laras thought. "Mommy are you eating now?"

"I said I could do it myself." Fania took the spoon that was in Laras's hand and began to spoon the porridge in the bowl that Laras was always holding slowly.

Laras frowned when she saw her mother-in-law forcibly swallowing the mushy porridge. But she didn't want to make a sound, afraid Fania would get angry. It will affect her blood pressure.

"Already___" Fania put the spoon back into the bowl Laras was holding. The porridge was not spent.

"Now mommy is taking medicine." Laras took off the bowl he was holding on the nightstand near the bed, he took some medicine and poured water into the glass that was already there

Laras smiled gently then tidied up Fania's blanket a little so that it was more fitting for her mother-in-law to wear. She also tidy up the plates and glasses that had been used just now. Laras didn't miss all of that.

Laras sat back on the sofa near the door. She had just sat down when suddenly her cell phone rang because there was an incoming call.

"Hello? Who?" Laras said to someone on the other side, she didn't know who was calling.

"Hello, it's me."

"Rio's?" asked Laras to make sure, she knew this sounded like Rio's voice.

"Yes, it's me."

"Owww you, how did you know this phone number?"

"You idiot, of course I kept it straight before I gave it to you."

Laras just nodded slowly, she should have known. Why did he have to ask like that?

"How's mommy doing?"

"Mommy is asleep, she just finished eating and taking medicine."

"Mommy?"

"Ah__that. Mommy herself told me to call her that."

"He had gone home."
