5 At least, it won't be dangerous... Right?

'System, why can't I remember about this world?!'

[Most realms do not permit outside knowledge of their domain. In order to avoid unnecessary erasure, this part of your knowledge did not cross over.]

'Then do you know?'

[No.] I'm disappointed, but at least now it's easy to know what to expect from this. In other words, it's better to expect nothing.

'Is that so? Is there no way to actually keep them?' The one thing I don't need right now is losing more memories; I'm already running low on those.

[Certain cards can allow that possibility.]

'Cards? There was that, but do they even work? I summoned that monster, and nothing happened, right?'

[Cards are not summoned in a traditional manner but become a part of your strength or cause changes to create an opportunity to bring a certain event into reality.]

My eyes widen; if what this is saying is true, then...

'Does this mean that, right now, I am an aromage?' I take back what I said before, let's expect great things!

While I don't know how strong a magician of aromas would be, it's still magic, and the thought made me forget my troubles for a bit.

[Incorrect]... only for me to get shut down in the next instance.

'From what I understood, then it should work; then why it doesn't?' I sighed loudly before noticing I was still in the cafeteria. My sigh made some of the kids look at me, which felt embarrassing. I quickly make my escape back into the classroom, and while walking, I see the system's response.

[This world does not have much in terms of mystical energy, the amount it holds is only enough for localized supernatural phenomena.]

'So the power of these cards is limited by the world... By the way, what would these supernatural phenomena actually be? Do you have an example?' Reaching my classroom, I quickly sit at my desk and pretend to look at a book while checking the system. I'm starting to feel like a spy.

[At most, a ghost can appear. Although it would need a rather extreme situation for one to manifest in physical form.] Ghosts are real; that's good to know.

'And what about the card?' Wouldn't it do basically nothing?' I don't think having the strength of Jasmine would be good if you consider that magic is not part of the package.

[The power from these cards can be transferred to different areas, even if it is not as strong as it originally should be. While magic is not within your reach, another type of strength related to the fate connected to you will take its place.]

'Fate?' My question is interrupted by a low sound coming from my stomach, which made me realize that I hadn't eaten anything and that right now is lunchtime. Or it was, as I hear the sound of the bell, that's annoying.

The rest of the students appear, with the teacher coming in last; however, as long as the questions are at the level from before then I still won't need to care for them. However, instead of starting the lesson, she is looking around.

"Does anyone know where the rest of the class is?" The teacher asks. I didn't understand the question until I looked around and found the empty seats that came into view, and it wasn't just one or two, but at least 1/5 of the class was missing.

"I saw Mizuki-chan going to the infirmary with 2 others." One of my classmates says this while putting one of her hands up. After my teacher waits a bit more, she starts to write on the chalkboard.

'Self Study' I guess she is going to search for them.

"Senzaki-kun, I will appoint you as the representative of the class while I'm away. If anyone leaves, that will mean triple the homework for the entire class, understand?" At first, I didn't notice, but after following her gaze and seeing that she looked straight at me, I remembered that I am Senzaki.

"Got it." As she hurriedly leaves, everyone starts chatting away. Even though it's called self-study, no one is gonna use this time to actually try to learn anything. At least no one will try to leave, mostly because they don't want to be the cause of more homework. Now that I have some time so I can concentrate on the system, and it seems like it already answered my previous question.

[The fate connected to you is what brought you here and what you must experience, either by making part of it or changing it. You could say this fate is the original story of this world, or at least a part of it.]

'So that's how it is. The one who sent me here is probably having a blast seeing this, huh? I wonder if they can hear me.' Thinking about the fact that I'm only some kind of entertainment makes me feel angry,

[Incorrect. There are no higher beings watching you.] ...What?

'But wasn't it a god who sent me here?'

[Incorrect. You were sent here through the power of a wish.]

'...Then who wished for this?.'

[Wishes are concentrated power accumulated by any will that wants something throughout the multiverse. A simple wish for anything has power, and when multiple wishes come together, they can even make miracles happen, like sending someone to another world.]

'...And that god?'

[Gods use the energy of wishes to increase their powers, normally by granting them without using everything and taking the leftovers for themselves. They were trying to fulfill another wish when you were swept away by a rogue wish, in turn putting both of these in your hands.]

'Both? What exactly are the wishes I must fulfill?' ...This is a lot to think about, although I am glad there isn't something watching.

[First wish: Experience different types of stories while becoming involved in them.

Second wish: Become a part of something that brings good memories.] That second wish, so that's why I have this Yugioh-related power.

'Isn't number 2 technically already granted? And how would I even know where and what this story is? I complain. Trying to get involved in something that could happen anywhere in the world is an impossible mission.

[Even if a wish is granted, the power gained by it won't disappear. As for how to locate the fate. Synchronization at 35%, enough to find places where the story is stronger. Please try to concentrate on your link with that fate.] A new term got thrown at me just like that. While confused about what the system is Synchronized to, I try to follow the vague instructions, and getting surprised by the results.

The rather weak feeling was like knowing something was about to happen in this place, but not knowing when. After asking the system, it used the moments where a character would move to a location because of a feeling in order to get involved in the plot of the story as an example of what was happening.

'But it also said it was too weak to be a main plot place. Is there anything else this Synchronization does?'

[The higher it is, the more hints are discovered about the original work. Currently all that is known is that this story is of the slice-of-life genre.]

'So, I can know the type of work... It's not much, but it's something. At least, since it's slice of life, then it won't be dangerous.' Suddenly, a scream resounds through the hallway, loud enough for everyone in the class to hear it. And when I looked at the system window, all my thoughts wanted me to slap the me from 10 seconds ago.

[New information: In this world, the danger of death to the host is extremely high.]
