I snapped awake.
The slimes were now extremely close, less than 10 meters away. I was surprised that everything that happened in my mind was but an instant here.

A new power had appeared.
Overlord.
Just hearing the name made my soul shiver.
I looked at the skill closely.
[Overlord: Is a skill that allows the user to get stronger when facing enemies that are stronger than it]
A short description appeared in front of me on a holographic screen. I was about to ask the system what it was, but stopped myself.
It was sort of vague...
I made a promise to myself not to rely on others so much. I need to make sure that I improve as well.
I quickly analysed the situation and came up with an answer. This must be the ability that I gained when my [All seeing eyes] leveled up.
Anyway, an ability that allows me to get stronger when I face stronger opponents, huh?
It seems perfect for me...
I looked at the slimes that were approaching, five to the right and another ten to the left. The would meet up at my location in 20 seconds...

I looked at the slimes.
Get ready to DIE!
I erupted from the shadows and into the center of the baby slime crowd. Dust erupted around me.
This was my strategy... The slimes all turned to find the source of the disturbance, but the cloud of dust blocked their sight. It also blocked my way as well though...
A blue blob jumped towards my face. I had heard that although baby slimes normally are quite slow and slide like slugs in order to move.
But when they attack they have the ability to jump quickly.
I looked at the baby slime that was jumping towards me as I punched out my 'hand' at the approaching mass of slime. I felt a shock travelling up my arm, before I stumbled backwards.
Although slimes didn't feel much pain from physical attacks, they still feel shock. That was probably the iron skin ability that baby slimes had.
You did it now...
The baby slime once again jumped towards me, as I dodged to the side, before turning and punching the side of the baby slime. Another baby slime charged into the battle as I was hit it in the back of the head with the strength of its iron skin and fell onto the earthen floor.
This was going to be tough.
I could feel my strength faltering. With that abnormal iron skin ability, baby slimes were basically able to hold of most attacks.
But if I also had iron skin, then I would probably be able to kill them!
But how could I absorb one of them? I wan't in my slime form... so maybe.
The slime that I had punched once again jumped at me.
This is going to hurt...
I jumped up at the same time and made the slime hit the middle of my stomach. I wrapped my arms and legs around the baby slime and hit the ground. My slime body began to absorb the slime.
By now the dust had cleared at the other four baby slimes were approaching me. The jumped at me.
[You have absorbed a baby slime! You have gained the ability [Iron skin]]
I stood up.
You guys are going to die.
I concentrated the iron skin on my hand and then punched out at the neared baby slime, causing it to be repelled 5 meters away.

I charged at the remaining four baby slimes, before punching out, with my stronger iron skin, causing it to explode.
HAHAHAHAHA... You fuckers caused me so much pain. It's only fair that you get it back... with interest.
The three remaining slimes, as if sensing the danger of their situation all jumped at me in a coordinated attack.
You want to use numbers?
I put my arm in front of me, before concentrating my iron skin on my hand, causing my skin to take a silver luster, before I swept my arm in a circle. All three slimes came into contact with my arm, before exploding.

That was so...

The remaining ten slimes stood at the sideline, looking at me as if I was some monster.
Yeah I am a monster! Got a problem with that?
Then the slimes did something startling. They all gathered around one slime.
So you guys are going to go into a formation because I am dangerous? There's no way that you will win against me!
They didn't approach me though.
Instead one slime from the outer circle jumped onto the slime in the middle, before being absorbed the slime in the center. Slowly each slime repeated this process...
No... they couldn't be...
Slowly the slime in the center got bigger and bigger until eventually it become a 1 meter tall monster. Considering that normal baby slimes are .4 meters tall and even I am just below 1 meters tall.
It's a slime...
I should have really disrupted that ceremony...
For the first time since I came to this world I found the monster known as the slime...

I put two skill points on All seeing eyes, hoping to evolve it to something that could see the stats of monsters that are stronger than me.

I gasped at the abnormal stats of the slime...
Weren't adult slimes considered weak in the continent? And what's with this 'level 3'.
It doesn't matter.
I charged at the slime. The slime jumped towards me.
This was the difference between baby slimes and normal slimes. Baby slimes normally just slide on the surface like slugs and jump when it is time to attack. Slimes are different though... Slimes normally jump to get around. When they attack...
Well let's just say that they pack a punch...
If look at this from a skill and stats point of view that I will die for sure, so I have to play it smart. Just one hit and I die...
I sidestepped out of the way of the slime, letting it jump past me, before I charged at its back. It jumped towards me after hitting the ground.
No... I forgot. Slimes have 360 degree vision, so they can see in any direction, which means that there is no way that I can launch a sneak attack.
I looked around.
There!
I ran towards the cavern wall, charged up the wall and then launched myself off the wall and threw myself fist first at the head of the slime. I found that my attack did not do anything. My fist met with a bouncy resistance that propelled it back. I kicked of the slime.
So that's its Physical Nullification...
The slime charged at me once again, with great speed, instantly knocking me back against the wall.
I fell to the ground, but instantly jumped up.
It seems that there won't be any strategy to fight this thing...

I may not be the strongest monster.
I charged at the slime fearlessly, before being struck down.I got up again before charging at the slime once again.
I may not be the fastest monster.

A noise came out from it, before the slime's color began to darken, taking on a deep blue hue.
Looks like the slime want to end this quickly. That must be its [buff] ability...
It charged at me once again. Something tells me that if I get hit by this strike, I may not get back up again. But it was too fast. I had no way to dodge.
It looks like the only thing that I can do is...
I hardened my resolve, before concentrating the [Iron skin] on my chest and stomach.
Let's play dodge ball...
The slime collided with my stomach, which instantly made me lose most of my strength.
[Overlord has activated! [Iron skin level 4 - 5]
I smashed into the cavern wall, causing a spiderweb of cracks to appear behind me. I wrapped my arms and legs around the slime and then began to absorb it.
But the slime was smarter than than. It instantly split its body into two and escaped my grasp.
So that's split. I looked at the two new slimes.

It seems that after they split, they lost some of their strength and they can't join up together...
An idea slowly began to form in my mind.
I pounced onto one of the slimes, with my iron skin covering my chest and tried to absorb it, which caused it to split.
This caused their stats to automatically get reduced...
I repeated this process. Until eventually their were 8 small slimes.
Making them split anymore than this would probably cause them to devolve back into a baby slime. They 'mini' slimes tried to attack my body, but with [Iron skin level 5] I was able protect myself.
I grabbed one of them.
Looks like this is your unlucky day, my little friends...
The timeout on my [form] ability had run out.
I transformed back into my 'normal' slime form, which was slightly bigger than normal baby slimes [about .4 meters high...] and began to absorb the slime.
Our wills fought, but I overpowered the slime easily. After all, my will had already been tempered in that dark place...
Just thinking about it gives me the chills...

It looks like I don't level up anymore when I 'absorb monsters'.
I looked at the remaining 7 slimes that were furiously attacking me with their bodies. They couldn't do anything to me with my [iron skin] ability...
I let one of them hit me, before I jumped towards one of the slimes with my [iron skin] concentrated on the point of contact, causing the slime to explode into goo.

My body felt lighter. I was now level 6.
I looked at the remaining slimes. However my eyes no longer viewed them as fellow monsters.
No, to me they were walking gold mines...
