I could feel my soul getting torn apart.
Endless pain filled my head. If this continued then I would might really die... I hadn't even fulfilled my goals...
My mind raced.

I mean this was a monster that was 1 tier above me in the evolution chain.
Wait a minute. That's it! If I was a baby slime, then wouldn't it be possible to compete against his soul?

I think it's time to evolve now... This event has really opened my eyes. Even with a system and a leveling up interface... I still nearly died to the one of the weakest monsters in this world.

As the thought entered my mind, as if serving as divine retribution the pain in my head erupted, to every fiber of my being.

The first thing I noticed was the the fact that I could see! Finally, I was no longer surrounded by darkness! Light had finally entered my eyes!
The rocks... the dirt... life was so beautiful...
Does that mean that I successfully evolved?

I looked at my stats in amazement. No wonder my body felt so much better. Compared to before most of my stats had doubled! I felt so freaking bad ass!
But the thing that confused me the most was this new race. Wasn't I meant to evolve into a baby slime?

I slowly processed the information that the system was telling me...
It seems that due to me meeting certain conditions, I was able to evolve into a metamorphosis slime. I wonder what the difference is.
I looked at my own body and then at some of the baby slime patrolling outside the small cavern that I was in. It seems that my body is much bigger than typical baby slime, but other than that it doesn't seem that there is much of a difference.
It seems that this new skill [form] is the answer to my questions.
I activated the skill. I felt my body bulging slightly. I then observed by body. There doesn't seem to be much of a difference. I have noticed that most of the time skills must meet certain requirements in order to activate.
For example, [All seeing eyes] must lock onto a target in order to activate and [Pain resistance] will only activate when I am subject to physical/mental harm.
It seems that my [form] skill will also need to meet certain requirements...
I began to experiment. I tried to mimic some of the inanimate objects around the cave, but it didn't seem to work...
I thought about it a bit. What if I tried to change my form into a living creature. I slowly thought about. The only creature that I remembered apart from a baby slime was a strange creature.
It had two legs, instead of none like a slime and had another two strange legs near its head. It seems that this was a 'human', or what I was before I turned into a slime. It felt weird looking at this strange creature, knowing that I was once this strange creature before me.
But strangely, I felt comforted looked at it, as if I was looking at a dear friend that I had met after a long time. I began to visualize this human in my mind before activating [form]. The slight bulging feeling that I felt began to exponentially increase.
I looked at my 'new body'. I was now standing on two of me 'new' legs. I also had 'arms'. It was quite a new experience for me, who was a slime for my whole 'life'.
But there were some differences. The biggest one was the fact that I was blue. That's right, blue. From what I can remember, humans normally had white, brown or yellow skin...
I also noticed that I had now face. My whole face was just a clean slate, as if all of my facial feature were rubbed of. I had now fingers or toes, just blobs...
[System, why is it that I look so different from a normal human?]
[Processing... looking through data... it seems that the host's current state is the result of the host not having a sufficient skill level on the skill [form]. The host can become more 'human' like, as the host levels up the skill.]
Ok, that explains it. I have to say though that this skill is quite amazing. If I level it up enough, it will end up allowing me to become close to a human which would probably give me an upper edge against all of my baby slime brothers and sisters.
Maybe 'half brothers and sisters' is a better way of describing it...
Anyway, it seems that I am ready to begin. Let's go and get strong enough to do whatever I want in this world!
With a new found conviction and new skills I stepped out of the cave into my first adventure in a new world!
