16 A Chaotic Night

*Beep beep beep beep Crunch!* I like the alarm clock but it's a little annoying. I looked at my alarm clock which was smashed in by my fist which I quickly fixed using my skill. Luckily I slept on the floor because if not I would have definitely fallen out from that loud and startling noise as this is the first time I have tested it.

Now that I'm awake I realize now that it going off meant that someone's here. I was just about to go due to the excitement but then I realized I was still in my sleep clothes so I quickly got dressed and hurried down stairs to see the lucky customer that gets to taste my cheat skill food.

When I saw who it was I felt ecstatic as I have finally reached a big milestone for my tavern. It was a regular person, not a thief or a classic manga girl but a real normal customer. I definitely shouldn't be this excited about it but I want to be able to serve people that don't treat me like their best friend or think that I am a holy cooking god.

Once I came into full view and the man saw me he said, "Hello I heard that this place makes some pretty good food?" To that I happily responded, " Yes this is the place, welcome to Kuishinbō Tavern I'm sure the food will not disappoint you." He then walked to the bar counter and sat form in front of me while I was standing behind it.

Now, guess what he said that drastically changed my life, NOTHING! That is what I like about normal customers, they just come and go with no extra mental work on my part. He didn't have stars in his eyes when he tasted my food and give me endless praise, he just said it tastes good with a normal smile and left after finishing the food. I wish that more people could learn from this man as he is a model citizen.

I would have been sad but now that a stranger has come here it means word of this place is out. I can now rest easy that there will be more costumers which in return means more money… I forgot to take his money, I have nothing to worry about though as more will come

… <—(land taken over by England, long story)

So many, so much, what do I do this is too much! It's utter chaos in here it went from 0 to 110% in the snap of my fingers. It started off as one which was exiting for me but not necessarily a big deal, then it went to ten, fifteen, twenty, and ended with a total of around 70 people. I had to get extra tables and chairs to accommodate the extra people along with using the empty upstair rooms for eating space.

The entire tavern is filled to the brim to customers. Most of them are adventurers who all are laughing and having fun with their friends. There is also the occasional city guard or the shady hooded figures in the corner which I'm not exactly comfortable with but I'll leave them be as I'm safe in the tavern as I'm practically invincible in here incase anyone forgot.

I have no idea what chain reaction started n m add this many people come at once, maybe that one guy that came earlier? I'm exhausted as it's a tall order to serve this many people at once. It doesn't help that I have no waiters or simply help in general. If it wasn't for my skill being able to make cooked food out of the air I wouldn't be able to keep up with the demand. I suppose I get a lot of money which makes it worth it but still this is a little too much.

Almost everyone in here has had some ale making look like there is a party being thrown. If I was a normal bartender I would have been worried about them braking something and having to pick up all the trash but luckily I have my cheat skill. Basically everything in here is indestructible and the floor eats the trash, speaking of that I still haven't seen it in action it must purposely eat it when nobody's watching, creepy.

After a little thought I realized that I may be a hypocrite. I say how I wish my customers were normal and plain but now I really like the opposite. Having a friendly party here with all these people laughing and telling stories is quite exhilarating which is what I wanted to do in the first place. I just enjoy the company that all these friendly adventurers have to offer. Maybe in reality I'm the weird one and everyone else is perfectly normal, at least for this world's standards.

Everyone loves my food with everyone eating with gusto which I was expecting as i with my cooking skill made it. Also people were gulping down the Kenkō Ale and to my surprise a few people were actually getting drunk off it which should be practically impossible to do as the drink is supposed to get rid of drowsiness and fatigue which greatly reduces the alcohol plus it isn't a very alcoholic drink in the first place.

I guess you can do anything with will and determination, I'm just lucky I have a unlimited amount of it or I would've been out of the stuff a long time ago. Due to them drinking it until they were drunk means that I get a lot of money from the ale which I have at least sold a hundred of. It's a fair trade though as my Kenkō Ale is really good for you with all kinds of benefits which leaves the consumer happy and healthy.

The pool table I made is also popular tonight with a good amount of people watching and playing. It took a second to teach them the basics on how to play but once they understood the rules they picked it up in no time. It also started to strangely get very competitive with bets being placed and people cheering for the person that they want to win.

I should make another game as this one's quite well received, I would make a dart target by I'm not sure how I feel about giving drunk people pointy along with sharp darts to throw. If a paper airplane can poke a eye out I don't want to know what a dart could do.

While I was marveling over the chaos surrounding in here I saw someone and realized they looked familiar. It took me a bit to realize who they were but then I remembered that they were that man that first came here. However he didn't look like the model citizen like when he first came in here but instead looked completely different. Instead of having normal clothes he had a adventuring attire. He also didn't have a plain normal expression like before but instead was making a heartily laugh with some other people with ale in his hand.

I was confused as to why he looked like a completely different person so I went up to confront him. I walked to his table and when he saw me he said, "Ah my old friend nice to see you and what wonderful food!" I have no idea why he was also eccentric or why he called me a friend but I ignored it and got straight to the point by saying, "Hi why are you here again and acting so differently?"

To my question he replied "Oh, Well I had to go undercover obviously so I had to look and act differently." His face looked so innocent and he said it with so matter a factly that I thought he must be a idiot. I was patient though despite my irritation and said to him, "Could you tell me why you went undercover here?" He then said something that left me in utter disbelief,

"It's actually a pretty long story, well it started when my brother came to me and said that he and his party came here and that the food was amazing. You should know who he is as he's pretty recognizable with him being a giant and all. He then said that his party leader who's name I think is Taida wanted a favor from me which was to come here and taste the food and write a review."

"What do you mean write a review?" I said as I was confused as to what he meant. He said' "You see I actually own the news boards in this city that tell the news like the rise in monsters or a noble raising tax stuff like that. Anyway I agreed so I came here, liked your place, and posted a review on a few boards close by."

"Ok thank you for the explanation keep on eating and hope you enjoy." I then walked away and got back to work as now that I know the full story I just don't really want to talk to him anymore. I guess I'm thankful for what he did as I now have a lot of business but I still would rather feel the accomplishment of doing it myself which is what I feel about a lot of things. That why I don't use my cheat skill to brain wash people and force them to come here.

I have learned one lesson though, Never judge a book by it's cover, and more importantly even if it's a good book it may not be a genre you like. Did that make any sense? I think it did, right?
