2 CHAPTER 2

Before they could even decide what to do, from behind came the shout. "There! We've surrounded them!" It was the shout of the man leading the group of three cars filled with armed individuals, each car was from a different brand but all of them seemed to be made of luxurious materials, the design was carefully planned to make it look exotic and parts of the car were gold-plated. The tinted glass of the car had an unusual color, depending on where you looked at it, it had a rainbow or silver coloration.

They surrounded Lothar and the others and slowly left the cars, the woman that was called captain a few minutes ago suddenly clenched her fist and frowned as she looked at the first man to leave one of the cars, he like the others was using a black formal suit with carbon-like texture, they all had handsome faces with eyes the same color of rubies, while most had weapons with them and seemed to be trained to the peak of what was humanly possible, the one Lothar assumed to be the leader was different.

He had a prosthetic graphene hand and leg, every single part of his body seemed to be perfectly handmade, be it his mechanical red eyes that slowly spun as he looked at him or the muscles on his body, there was something different about this man that Lothar couldn't quite put his finger around it, he didn't seem real, it was almost like a living sculpture.

"Miss Juliana Franziska, I was wondering when I would have the pleasure to meet you..." The man with the prosthetic body parts said. "Allow me to introduce myself, I'm godfather's right hand, Oscar Lettiere, but you probably know me as the Executioner's hand." His words struck the group of 4 like hot metal on skin, they couldn't even move their eyes from him, just the mention of that title made their legs shake as fear slowly climbed the back of their heads.

Oscar's men smiled seeing how their boss was feared by that group of law enforcers, they worked for so many years just to get this fearful reputation, they couldn't hide their grins whenever someone trembled just from hearing who they worked for or heard his title.

"As for you..." Oscar turned Lothar and frowned, his eyes swept him from head to toe as if trying to find some sort of information, but the more he looked the more his face seemed to sunk, it was like he had met a puzzle that made no sense whatsoever. "Who are you?"

"I should be the one asking that mister Oscar." Lothar stroked the ring on his finger, he couldn't quite understand what was going on, he knew better than anyone its capabilities, and yet, the ring didn't allow him to fell the man's presence, and this was something that only happened when he faced undead creatures, could the man in front of him be like that? "I've always been fascinated by mysteries, and you are such one. How come I can't feel you, are you dead perhaps?"

Hearing those words Oscar revealed a slight smirk on his face. "Dead, you ask..." He brought his hand to his face and his body started shaking as the sound of laughter echoed throughout the place. "Hahaha! How amusing! After more than two hundred years someone finally noticed? Who are you really, another Sinth like me, or perhaps something else? It is interesting how both of us can't even start to understand each other, I too want to know what kind of mystery you are, but... you see..." He pointed at the woman and her underlings. "Unfortunately I'll have to kill you like the others unless of course, you want to be part of our family, we aren't wild beasts, after all, we always welcome the talented."

Everyone was shocked to hear those two talking to each other, they couldn't even begin to understand what was going on. Mysteries? Two hundred years? Sinth? Although they wanted to know more they could only silently listen to their conversation and await further orders.

"Hehe, I'm honored but I'm afraid I'll have to refuse your invitation, I won't join a mortal's family so easily, I'm someone who defeated entire armies of demons alone on the battlefield. Only those I welcome under my wing are worthy of calling me a colleague, friend, or even family."

Oscar nodded and smiled, his body as relaxed as ever as the words left his mouth. "Then, I hope you can rest well in the afterlife, kill them all!"

"YES!" His men shouted, they pointed their guns at Lothar and the others behind him and pressed the trigger, the explosion sound accompanied that of the bullets traveling through the air more than two thousand kilometers per hour, but at that moment, before the bullets could've reached them, Oscar stared at the man with wide eyes and a shocked gaze, he wasn't like the others, they would never see what he saw, words so fast that the sound is incomprehensible, a circle filled with glyphs and runes so profound and powerful that even he couldn't record their shapes and just got a mere glimpse of their might.

And then, all those might bullets made of the best material one could buy, all hit the air as if the hardest invisible wall was surrounding them, the men stared at this sight with shock and confusion, but captain Juliana and her underling were calmer because they had already witnessed such a thing before, they were only surprised that the man in armor protected them as well, they never expected this outcome.

Oscar's men stared at him, they didn't know what to do, but when they notice how he was looking at Lothar with open mouth and wide eyes they froze, was it possible? After so many years their boss had finally met a situation - no, a man who he feared? You could understand why they were so confused over this matter, for them, Oscar was no different than a demon without feelings, they didn't saw or experienced what he experienced, so they didn't know the size of the threat in front of them.

But he knew, and he knew it better than most because he have seen this before when he was young and working in the military during the war, he saw with his own eyes during the battle of Levin-2 how a single being destroyed hundreds of thousands of soldiers using his words alone, the Stellaris government lied and said it was an enemy illegal weapon of mass destruction, they used all their means to incriminate the native of Levin-2 and the consequences for them was catastrophic, to say the least.

And now, in front of him, a man who he compared to a clown just because of what he was wearing, demonstrated the same power, the power to bend reality as he wanted. It is retribution, he thought, perhaps the gods more than ever wished for his death, for he had met an enemy that he could never defeat!

Silence took over the forest, no one dared to move a single finger in Lothar's presence, his hazel eyes and chestnut short hair that once seemed friendly and common now had a new layer of depth to them. A golden aura surrounded him as a non-existent wind made his hair sway slightly, he only smiled and pointed at them, there were no flashy movements or explosion, he only said. "I curse your pitiful vile existences to death."

And them, their veins suddenly became black like charcoal and blood started leaking through every hole in their bodies, they could only stare at him in fear as the image of a holy being with wings appeared behind like an illusion, as if an angel had judged they were guilty and put an end to their lives, sentencing them to an eternity of suffering in hell.

Oscar unlike the others though, was intact, it was almost like Lothar couldn't affect him, seeing this he frowned and corrected his earlier mistaken thoughts, he was not undead, an undead would have exploded from such a divine tiered spell that could only be used once per month, due to the countering of the intrinsic attributes they had. It was only them that he finally thought of something that didn't have a life but wasn't undead. "Ah, I see now, you're not undead, you are actually a golem, a mere puppet capable of thinking by yourself!"
