1 I need a hero !

Ah, the heroes !

They are often overpowered, superhuman beings, endowed with formidable powers and extraordinary abilities. They are people with a sense of justice unequaled and honed to the maximum, always ready to risk their own lives for others, to put their strength at the service of the weakest.

In life, everything was defined by the strength and power of individuals. If you were weak, you were martyred by the strong and you served them as a slave. And if you were strong, either you were martyring the weak and you were a villain, or you helped them, and you were a hero.

"Hey, Sasaki, go get me some cigarettes during the lunch break, get busy."

And unfortunately, Sasaki was one of the weak. And unfortunately, in the real world, no hero would come to save her.

"Y... Yes, I'm going right now..." Answered the girl in a small voice, before getting up and heading quickly to the exit of the classroom.

Sasaki Kuruda, 16, high school student in a prestigious and renowned private high school. His mother had sent her to this school because she thought it would allow her to study better to pass the entrance exams in the best universities in the country.

And yet since she was here, she had never needed a hero so much in her life. Why did they only exist in movies, while there are villains who make people suffer in reality too ? Where were those who fought for justice, to rebalance the world ?

"There is no justice in this world, Sasaki."

"Life will not make you gifts, Sasaki !"

"If you don't fight, you'll never have anything, Sasaki."

So many words she had heard over and over again, that she knew better than anyone. And she was doing everything she could to not cry and say that everything was fine, even if it was getting harder and harder.

The high school girl went down into the schoolyard, looking at the clock on the big building. She had time to go out and come back if she was quick enough. Of course, students were not allowed to leave the school until the class day was over. That was why she always had to go get the cigarettes from Yuma, one of the boys in her class. But she did not have the strength to oppose him. She was too weak.

Sasaki discreetly approached part of the wire fence she knew was open in a corner of the yard. The girl slipped gently into the opening, and found herself in the street on the other side rather quickly. She had just a little dirty her skirt and her long black hair, which she had forgotten to tie.

She dusted herself off with a puff and headed for the bar where she used to go. She had no time to lose out, if anyone saw her, she was at risk of dismissal...

"Oh, kid, you again." The man behind the counter greeted her with a grinning smile, his bald head gleaming beneath the neon lights of the bar. Sasaki did not answer and just sat on a chair in front of him.

"Two packs." She just announced to the big one. She did not want to linger either in this place that she hated, or in front of this unhealthy man.

"No problems honey, do you have enough to pay ? If you have nothing, we can spend a little time together, it will pay your costs..." The bartender put the two packages on the counter at the same time as his elbow, approaching his face to that of the girl who did not look into his eyes.

"No thanks, take." She grabbed the cigarette packs and put the money on the counter, before getting up and leaving quickly. The smell of smoke filling the room was unbearable, and she coughed as soon as she was back on the street.

Sasaki sighed, looking at the pack of cigarettes she held in her hand. She who thought she would finally be popular in high school, she would have real friends with whom to study and have fun... She found herself buying cigarettes when she was not even major.

Why did it end up like this ? Was she too ugly ? Certainly she was not the prettiest or the cutest girl in school, she was barely average. But she had a thin face hidden behind glasses and smooth hair that made her look serious. That meant she was someone you could rely on, no ?

She had always agreed to serve everyone, she had always forced herself to be kind and smiling to try to get closer to other girls in her class. But without realizing it, she had ended up being the slave of a group of boys who did not care much about classes, and preferred to spend their time amusing themselves like parasites.

Yes, they were parasites... They knew to do nothing but live on the backs of others, until they sucked all their energy, all their strength. Without realizing it, Sasaki had shaken her hand so hard that the boxes of cigarettes were in a bad state. If she brought it back, she would surely take a few blows...

What forced her to obey Yuma first ? If she had problems in this high school, why did not she just change ? The solution was easy ! She was smart, it was not like she could not afford it...

The girl dropped the two boxes on the sidewalk before heading to her house. She would not stay another second in this cursed place. Heroes did not exist ? So she was going to become her own heroine. She was not going to wait until her death for someone to act for her.

Opening the door of the house in which she lived, a small modest building but in very good condition that even had a small garden, she entered quietly at home, making sure not to make noise. She did not know if her mother had returned or not, and she preferred to avoid seeing her so soon.
