72 New Person

'My back is super sore.' Kanzaki thought to himself as he walked inside his apartment. It was more sore than normal and he had no idea why. He even googled if pushups or crunches would have a large effect on his back and all of them said no. However, a few of the other workouts he had been doing were classified as light back exercises so he began wondering if his back was just super weak.

'Maybe I need to work it out even more?' Kanzaki thought in confusion as he went to his bathroom to get ready for the day. He had woken up early enough that he was able to get a shower but as he went toward the shower he checked the time once more to check and see if he could fit in something else.

Once he checked the time he decided that he indeed did have enough time to go and do something else so he quickly put the clothes he had taken off back on and began making his way toward the gym on the first floor. His back was super sore already and he wanted to stretch it out before he began streaming.

As usual, people were going about their business on the first floor going in and out of the gym with it being obvious who was coming in and who was leaving by the sweat on their bodies, 'The last time I was here it wasn't so pleasant.' Kanzaki thought with an awkward smile.

The last time Kanzaki had been on the first floor to go to the gym was the time he saw someone passed out on the ground due to Landon's drugs he had somehow fed the person. It was an experience Kanzaki would never forget but also an experience that made him afraid of coming back down to the gym.

However, it had been multiple days since any incident had occurred so he was ready to face his fears and give it a try again. The only way he was going to be able to move forward was if he pushed himself forward and made himself do better.

When Kanzaki went inside the gym some of the people were surprised to see him again since they had seen what happened to him on the news and some had even seen him help the other guy. A few even approached him to come check on him which he appreciated greatly.

"Hey man I heard about what happened from my sister are you alright?" One guy said as he walked over to talk to Kanzaki as he entered the gym. When Kanzaki heard this he couldn't help but smile.

"Yes, I am alright now. Thank you for checking on me." Kanzaki said with a smile getting a nod from the other guy before Kanzaki walked over to the treadmill. The treadmill allowed for an almost full-body workout since running used most of the body's functions.

When Kanzaki began running he realized that there was a girl beside him once more and he began to wonder if every time he got on the treadmill there would be a girl beside him, not that he wasn't ok with that.

"Why are all those people asking if you're alright?" The girl beside Kanzaki said suddenly turning her face toward him. He could see that she was a person wearing glasses while also having a somewhat attractive face. She looked like one of the types that would know a fun fact about everything that you could name which intrigued him.

"I had someone that tried to do something nasty to me earlier in the week. Luckily the police arrived before anything happened which made me be able to be here today." Kanzaki said not wanting to tell anything about the deep details or to even mention Selena since he thought that was inappropriate.

When the girl beside Kanzaki heard that she frowned deeply thinking that something like that was terrible and she was also wondering how Kanzaki was dealing with something like that, "That's terrible. I'm glad that you're alright and able to come down here now. That's powerful." The girl said smiling at the end when she finished her sentence.

Kanzaki thought this person was nice and genuine so he tried to get to know her better, "Thank you, I appreciate that. My name is Kanzaki what is yours?" Kanzaki asked trying to start up a conversation with the new girl.

"My name is Chelsea nice to meet you." Chelsea said introducing herself as she continued to run on the treadmill. By this point, Kanzaki had begun running as well making them start talking to each other as they worked out.

Kanzaki talked with Chelsea for a long time completely forgetting about the soreness in his body as he got absorbed into the life of Chelsea. From what she told him she had been in the apartment even longer than he had been.

Chelsea had moved in due to the apartment being close by to the college she was going to. When Kanzaki asked her what she was going to school for he was surprised to hear she was going to school for art and was pursuing it full time at the moment which shocked him greatly.

"What type of art do you do to be full-time?" Kanzaki asked as he continued running passing the 1-mile mark according to the treadmill in front of him. When Chelsea heard this she seemed to go into deep thought for a moment deciding on whether to tell him or not. Kanzaki felt he might have stepped into awkward territory so he quickly tried to fix the situation he might have created.

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, it's completely fine." Kanzaki said with a smile. He was enjoying their conversation so far and didn't want it to go sour just because he had wanted to know something she didn't want to talk about.
