Thud, thud, thud...

Jisu's footsteps echoed around the empty studio. The walls were painted a matte tan with large mirrors hanging on half of them. Broken blinds let in a scattered light as the white curtains gently fluttered to the AC. The light reflected off the mirrors, showing a small square room with nothing but a speaker on top of a small table.

Even though the wooden floors had been worn down with age and the windows had been stuck half closed, the floor and mirrors were clean and well maintained.

Jisu stood in front of the speaker and connected her phone to it. Scrolling through her playlist, she selected one titled 'Dance Songs' and set the phone down.

Suddenly the once silent studio was alive with music! The thumping bass started the beat and the electric guitar built on it. She positioned herself in front of the mirror wall.

The intro was very catchy and passed by quickly.

"Oh the feeling to be free~

The strength to make your destiny

Will all come to you in time

You just need to work whole heartedly"

Nodding her head to the beat, she started moving.

Sweeping her arms to the left, she skipped lightly on her feet to the right. Her dance moves were clean and refreshing to see.

Jisu's body was well proportioned albeit on the tall and willowy side. Her dewy skin pink from exhaustion and her glossy black hair swept into a ponytail was mesmerizing.

Her eyes glittered as she danced. She felt all her muscles coming to attention as they fluidly did as she willed. Jisu simply let herself and her thoughts go as she focused on the rhythm. It seemed to call to her as she moved faster and faster.

As the music built up, she started sweating and grinning. The feeling of truly letting go and moving her body in reckless abandon was exhilarating and strangely euphoric. The song winded down and she moved slower and slower until she finally stopped moving.

Jisu dropped to the floor in exhaustion, her chest heaving for breath. She rolled over to her back, laughing from the high of dancing. This was the feeling she truly loved and sought after.

After a few minutes, she grudgingly sat up again, stretching her muscles out, and reached for her bag. It was sitting in the corner against the wall.

Jisu sighed as she saw it was too far from her reach. She felt as if all her bones now weighed 50 pounds and her body was too heavy to move. Her eyes lit up as she thought of something.

Laying on the floor she started rolling to the direction of the bag.

All of a sudden, she heard a click and the sound of the door opening.

Freezing in place, she slowly turned her head towards the noise.

Her classmate was also frozen at the door...

Jisu quickly sat up from her akward laying position and gave a weak smile. "hey~" she said weakly. The classmate smiled awkwardly and slowly backed out, lightly closing the door.

Jisu cursed her luck. 'Ehhh my luck is too bad... Why did she have to open it at that wierd moment?...'

She quickly crawled to the bag and unzipped it. Grabbing her towel, she wiped off her sweat and spritzed a cooling spray. Satisfied at her quick cleanup, she grabbed her phone and stood up.

Her muscles let out a cry of pain and she stifled her groan. She realized she forgot to stretch before dancing... She knew what her dance instructor would say. Mrs. Jung had always nagged about it, saying it was the most important step to remember before all else. Now she really felt the consequences.

Yawning, she headed for the door, checking her phone. To her surprise, it was already 7:00! She yelped in surprise as her eyes widened in horror. Securing her bag onto her back, she started sprinting. Pulling open the door, she rushed out the dance studio's long hallway and out the door.

The bright sunlight hit her in the eyes, and she winced, slowing down her frantic pace. The cooling breeze felt good on her sweaty forehead. She pulled her hair out from the ponytail.

Jisu groaned from the painful pleasure... Having the ponytail in for too long with her long and heavy hair always pulled at her scalp. She massaged her head and sighed. She was going to be late to school again.

She reached her bike and quickly unlocked it. Stuffing the chain into her backpack, she then shoved her bag into the basket of the bicycle. Getting on it, she pushed off into the cool morning breeze.
