14 The Unpleasant Scene

I woke up feeling cheerful, feeling that things are somewhat going back to normal. I got ready and threw on my backpack.

I skipped down to the kitchen, surprised to find that Youngji and Jay were already there.

I quickly ate my breakfast along with Jay and followed him out of the house. The birds were singing and the sun beamed. It wasn't too hot and it wasn't too cold. It's beautiful out!

The nice warm breeze brushed my face. I couldn't help but smile and close my eyes, taking a deep breath in to taste the fresh clean air.

Out of nowhere, it felt like I hit a hard wall in front of me. My eyes leaped open and I realized that I had bumped into Jay's chest. His eyes were gazing down, watching me. He squinted his eyes. What's this look that he is giving me?

Jay leaned forward, close to my face and my eyes widened. What is he going to do? I backed away a little.

Jay got close to my ear and whispered, "Watch where you're going."

My face flushed like a red tomato and I quickly apologized.

Jay then led us to the car. I hopped into the passenger seat and decided to take out my textbook to do some reading on the ride to school.

He clicked a button and the roof of his black Mercedes started to open. I sat there being amazed while watching the roof get folded down towards the back.

Wow, I never realized that this car had an open roof.

Wanting to enjoy the beautiful weather a little more, I stuffed my books back in my backpack.

I stuck my arm out the car to the side allowing my arm to flap in the wind. It felt like I was flying. The wind grazed my face and my hair danced in the wind. I was smiling like an idiot.

"Do you like it this much?" Jay broke the comfortable silence.

I nodded, "Mhm!"

I could see his lips curled up into a smile for a little bit.

The ride to my university was surprisingly short. I've never realized that we lived this close to the campus. I could probably walk here.

Heads turned our way when Jay's Mercedes pulled up on the side. We were catching a lot of attention and I did not like it one bit.

"I'll come pick you up later at the same place." Jay called out and drove away before I could say anything back.

I lowered my head and quickly headed to my first class.

Lunch time came rather quickly and I walked to my usual spot.

I discovered this place when I got lost while exploring on my first day at the university. I found that it is a bit closed off but not too far from the main campus. Behind an academic building, blocked off by some trees was a curved grassland that looked like an abandoned park. There were some benches sitting on top of the curved ledges.

I could at least relax and find my peace and quiet here since no one ever comes here.

I laid down on one of the benches and closed my eyes, enjoying the afternoon sunshine in the shade with a hint of a warm Spring breeze.

My phone suddenly vibrates in my pocket and it caught me by surprise. My eyes swished open.

I took out my phone swiftly and saw a text message from Jay.

'I hope you're paying attention in class.'

Unconsciously, I felt a smile sprawled across my face.

'I'm waiting for my last class." I texted back and put the phone back in my pocket.

After a while, I checked the time and it's 8 minutes until my class. I decided to start walking to class while dragging my feet. I have this class with Ewan and Sera and I am definitely not looking forward to it.

I got to class and I decided to just sit in the back of the room and do my stuff so they won't see me. I had my head down the whole entire time.

When the professor dismissed us, I dashed out of class.

I was on my way to meet up with Jay until I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder.

Shit. Is it Sera?

"Hey Mirae," a deep voice called.

Oh good. It's not Sera.

I turned around to whoever that called me.

Ewan?! Why would he want to speak with me?

"Yes?" I asked, prompting him to continue.

"Do you know if Sera is okay? She won't talk to me." Ewan looked concerned.

"I'm not sure. I think so." I said, trying to keep it short.

"Hmm, okay. I'm sorry for whatever that happened on Friday night."

"Oh, no, that's ok. It's already happened. We'll just have to look forward."

I gave him a reassuring smile.

"So apology accepted?" Ewan smiled back.

"Yes!"

I laughed. I never knew Ewan was this friendly and goofy.

"Good!" Ewan laughed and bid me goodbye.

I gave him a quick wave and headed on my way.

Third Person POV:

Sera got out of class and saw the sight she least expected to see. Mirae and Ewan together. Talking and laughing with each other. Sera was frustrated, not knowing what they could be talking about. On top of that, Mirae is talking to her long-time crush, so Mirae should know better than to flirt with him or whatever she's doing. Sera was beyond heated and angrily walked the other way, fuming about her broken friendship. No one dares to cross her.

Jay, on the other hand, was leaning on his motorbike when he saw Mirae walking quickly out of the class with her head down. He was thinking about how cute Mirae was until Ewan tapped on Mirae's shoulder. Jay doesn't know what he's feeling seeing how another guy could have even touched his girl. They are now talking and laughing? Jay couldn't stand it anymore and was about to walk to Mirae and Ewan and separate them until something else caught his eyes. Sera was there, staring at them as well. Jay could tell the look in Sera's eyes was unpleasant.
