7 Live For Tomorrow

I woke up with a teasing pain on my arm. I blinked as I adjusted to the light coming into the room from the dawn of the day.

A young lady came into my view and unhooked a packet of liquid from a pole. I almost screamed but it came out as a gasp instead.

I must have had a scared, confused look on my face.

"Good morning Miss Mirae, sorry to surprise you," She said politely. "I'm one of the housekeepers here and Mr. Shin asked me to check up on you."

"Mr. Shin?" I questioned.

"Ah, yes, Mr. Jay Shin, the owner of the house." She replied

Jay Shin… Flashbacks from last night came and went. I shivered thinking about how he had hurt me.

"I'll be taking out the needle from your arm now and I'll also change the bandage on your arm." She said as she leaned in to detach me from the IV Drip.

I looked down at my arm as the young lady changed my bandage. I cringed at the dull pain. Did I pass out last night or something that I needed the IV Drip?

This lady looks quite young and delicate to be a housekeeper. I wonder how old she is.

"I forgot to ask, what's your name?"

She looked at me and stuttered a bit, seemingly reluctant, "M-my name?"

"Mhm, your name. You know mine, and it's important that I know yours as well." I smiled.

"Kim Youngji" She smiles shyly, "you can just call me Youngji though"

"Youngji," I repeated. "It's a pretty name."

"Thank you, Miss Mirae."

"Just Mirae would be fine." I smiled

Youngji finished wrapping my arm with fresh bandages and threw out the old ones in the bin next to the bed, beside the nightstand.

I didn't notice how grand this bedroom looks until now. There's a big wardrobe next to a dresser across from the bed and there are fresh flowers sitting in a vase on top of the dresser. Two windows lined the wall behind the dresser. A L-shaped desk is placed by the right corner of the room.

Only if I wasn't held against my will here, I would actually consider this an ideal bedroom. It's simple yet refined.

"You can wash up in the bathroom here. You can use the things here. They're all new, I've just stocked it this morning." Youngji said as she led me to a bathroom that's attached to the bedroom. There's a full length mirror next to the sink and the bathtub is next to a shower stall. There are towels and a robe stacked on the bathroom shelf.

So spacious. I'm actually quite liking the room more now.

I opted to take a shower in the shower stall and extended my left arm out so that it won't sting from the water. It feels so good to be under the warm water so I stayed a bit longer than usual.

I brushed my teeth and got out of the shower wrapped in a towel. I looked at my black dress from last night in the hamper and decided to go out and ask Youngji to grab me another change of clothes instead. I definitely do not want to squeeze into the dirty, blood-stained black dress again.

I swung the door halfway open and found the person I last wanted to see standing in front of the door. Jay Shin.

I caught his eyes eyeing at me up and down, "What's taking you so long?"

Although I felt a little self conscious, I ignored him. I wrapped my towel tighter and held both my hands against my chest.

I heard a chuckle coming from him. I ignored that as well.

Tilting to the side to see where Youngji was, I saw her standing in front of the wardrobe taking clothes out and dumping it into a black trash bag.

"Youn-" I tried to call for her but got cut midway into my sentence before Jay pushed his way into the bathroom and stepped towards me, closing the door behind him.

I looked into his eyes coldly, slowly backing away. He could be attractive if he's not an asshole.

"Do you want to know what the consequence of tempting me is?" He gritted his teeth, reaching out his hand and pulled my hair back.

I squeezed my eyes closed at the sudden discomfort. "Ow, let go of my hair!"

I held his arms attempting to get him off me.

"It makes me want to fuck you when you tempt me like this." He yanked my hair and pulled me closer to him. My towel is now touching his black dress shirt.

My heart skipped a beat for some reason. "Seems like you were the one that bursted in here and tempted yourself, Mr. Shin."

Jay snickered, "So you have the energy now to talk back to me huh. I would watch it with that mouth of yours."

I stared into his ashy copper eyes, trying to read him.

"Come down and eat breakfast when you're done." He said as he let go of my hair and walked back out the door.

I stood there in the middle of the bathroom feeling afflicted. I smoothed out my hair and tried to rub the discomfort away.

What does he want from me anyway? Just how many sides to him does he have?

Once again, I cracked the door half way and asked Youngji for a change of clothes.

"Sure, I have a new pair of running shorts and a tank top here." Youngji handed me the pieces of folded clothing.

"Thank you Youngji," I looked at her gratefully.

She blushed and looked a bit surprised but she quickly turned back to continue whatever she's doing.

I put on the black mesh running shorts and tucked the black tank top into my shorts. They were a snug fit on me.

I walked out of the bathroom and headed towards Youngji and saw that she is dumping out more clothes in a large black trash bag from the dresser now.

"Why are you throwing them out?" I asked curiously.

"I'm following Mr. Shin's order to clean out the dresser and the wardrobe." She answered.

"Oh, why?" I continued my curiosity.

"Hmm," Youngji began hesitantly, "they're old clothes, and since you'll be staying here now, I'll be replacing it with your clothes."

"Here, I'll lead you downstairs to have breakfast." Youngji said, changing the topic.

I nodded although it still boggles my mind. And since when am I staying here? I would say I'm kidnapped but I'm not tied up anymore. I am, however, being kept here against my will. I felt a little depressed.

I touched the crescent moon hanging on my neck and thought about my mother.

'I need to live for tomorrow.' I told myself.
