16 Ex-girlfriend or Lucky Lady

The sky has already darkened and we are still zooming through the traffic.

Feeling unsettled, I asked Jay where we're going again.

"Why do you always ask so many questions?" Jay answered, without really answering.

"Because you never really answer me," I told him off, slightly a little annoyed, "And I'm hungry."

I felt a chuckle from Jay.

We then exited a highway and stopped at a rest stop where Jay and Joon stopped for gas.

"Joon, let's grab a quick bite here and we'll be on our way again," Jay said to Joon while grabbing my wrist, pulling me with him towards the restaurant.

Oh good, we're stopping for food. My stomach has been rumbling and I was definitely getting a little cranky.

"Why do you always grab my wrist while pulling me somewhere. You know I can walk by myself?"

Jay glanced back at me, "Do you prefer this instead?"

He slid his fingers between mine and our fingers intertwined.

Feeling a little shocked, I tried to pull back but he held on even tighter. I glanced up to see a smirk flashing across Jay's face.

My heart tingled.

"I can't hold my girl's hand now?" Jay said sarcastically as we walked into the service stop restaurant hand in hand.

We all got a bowl of ramen. Jay and Joon both finished before me and Jay was on his phone while Joon was looking at me to finish my food. I felt pressured by him so I ate quickly.

After getting to know Joon a little more, I actually don't mind having Joon around now, knowing that Joon is like Jay's right-hand man, obeying his orders. Joon treated me like his younger sister most of the time.

Leaving the restaurant, Jay took my hand again, interlocking it with his.

I didn't notice it before, but I'm surprised that our hands fit so perfectly with each other. His hands are so warm which warmed me up right away in the chilly night. I held on tighter to his hands.

I didn't mind it all that much this time.

He glanced down at me, and I caught his glance. And for a split second, my stomach had butterflies.

We hopped back on the motorbike. The night is getting colder and I hugged Jay from behind tighter.

I cannot deny my physical attraction towards him. Every little thing he does just makes me feel a type of way I can't describe.

Ever since I've met Jay, I've been exposed to a lot of things that I never thought could happen to me. And I am slowly adjusting to my lifestyle now. Just roaming around in the dark, not caring about a thing in the world and just living for tomorrow.

After a while of driving, we arrived at a really big house with a fountain in the front and lights lit up the grand entrance. The house is even bigger than the one Jay owns.

Jay and Joon took the suitcases and parked their bikes at the curved spacious driveway, already packed with some cars and motorbikes.

As I got near the entrance, I could already hear some loud pumping music. The door was opened by two butlers and we walked in. I stared at the house in awe.

There was a grand spiral staircase right after I stepped in. The spaces were decorated with leather sofas and an indoor bar.

A man came and greeted us, leading us to another part of the room.

On one of the chairs in front of a poker table, sat a man, similar in age as Jay. His auburn hair ruffled to the side. He had a piercing on one of his ears. Three girls were surrounding him, giggling and touching his thighs. He was twirling a wine glass on one hand while wrapping his other arm around a girl.

He noticed us and quickly put down his wine glass and shooed the girls away.

"Shin! No time no see. I'm glad to see you at this annual event again!" The man said.

The room silenced. There was some tension in the room and they were all dashing glances between Jay and the man, crowding around the poker table at this point.

His gaze shifted to me, eyeing me up and down. He is awfully handsome.

"Who do we have here?" The man grinned.

I opened my mouth to answer but before I could answer, Jay gave my hand a squeeze and inched towards me, slightly blocking my view of the man.

"Junsu, I see that you haven't changed." Jay said to the man.

Although they seemed friendly towards each other, there is some off feeling between the two.

"I have a surprise for you," Junsu continued, "But now I'm not sure if you would appreciate it anymore."

Junsu eyed me once again before he gave two claps.

Jay stared at him suspiciously before turning his attention to where the grand spiral staircase is.

A butler is assisting a young woman walking down the staircase. She looked thin and she had straight jet black hair with bangs. Her eyes were round and big. She looked like a doll.

"Hana?" Jay whispered.

I turned my attention to see Jay with his mouth and eyes wide open.

She is cute and all that but why is he gaping at her like that.

For some reason, I felt a little annoyed.

"Do you like your surprise?" The man named Junsu asked Jay.

"Why is Hana here?" Jay sounded a bit irritated and shocked.

"You didn't want her and she had nowhere to go so she wandered to my house half dead," Junsu continued, "I don't even know what's so special about you but she tried ending her life because you dumped her. So I just did you a favor and picked her up. Why? You don't like that? Should I have just left her out there to die?"

The young woman by the name of Hana came down the stairs and sat right next to Junsu and Jay flinched a little.

There was some tension now between Junsu and Jay.

A man at the corner of the room took a speaker and patted on the microphone, testing the mic.

"Alright, ladies and gentlemen. We will be starting our annual poker night shortly with five hundred thousand dollars at stake. Now, starting with our winner from last year, Jay Shin! Pick your lucky lady for this year!"

Jay did not hesitate one bit before pointing his finger at Hana. He then went on to sit across from Junsu and Hana obediently went to sit on Jay's lap.

My heart tugged.

I looked at Junsu who now had a frown.

Feeling slightly annoyed, I turned to Joon.

"Why did Jay even bring me here if he's going to choose some other girl?"

Joon looked at me and cocked an eyebrow, "I don't think Boss knew Hana was going to be here."

I turned back to look at Jay and Hana. They both looked good together with their jet black hair.

I shouldn't care but yet I feel slightly upset. Perhaps due to the fact that Hana is probably Jay's ex-girlfriend or something. On top of that, they look amazing and natural together.

"Alright, next up, we have Joon, who is here with Mr. Shin. Joon, please pick your lucky lady!" The announcer spoke.

I shifted my attention to Joon and saw his fingers pointed at my direction.

My eyes widened, looking at him with a baffled face.

Before I can react, Joon is already ushering me to sit on his lap, next to the Jay-Hana couple.

I felt strange sitting on Joon's lap. We interacted more like sisters and brothers. But I'm guessing Joon is looking out for me now that stupid Jay has another girl on his lap.

This went on for Junsu Jin as well and the guy he brought, Taewon.

The announcer spoke on the mic again. "Alright, seems like all the lucky ladies are settled with their dark knights! Last call for anyone who would like to join the match this year. Again, this is five hundred thousand dollars at stake! And the winner also gets to take home their lucky lady!"

Why does it sound like we're just an object here, being auctioned off? I didn't like that but I hid my dissatisfaction. I guess this is the world Jay lives in.

The crowd went silent.

"I do have a suggestion," Junsu's voice echoed through the silent crowd, "Whoever wins the first round, gets to choose whether to swap their girl or to keep her for the rest of the game."

The announcer spoke, "This is a different rule than last year but I have no objections. If no players object, we can enforce this rule this year."

I looked at Jay, it seemed like he was in deep thoughts but his focus was mainly on Hana.

The announcer paused for any objections, "Going once, going twice, and… sealed."
