24 Binded weapons

Clarabell knew about me attaining the SS rank? "That look says it all, Gabriel Wolfstein. For a person to receive the SS rank to be someone like you is really shocking." Even though she says so she didn't look shocked.

"So what is it you want with me Calarabell?" Clarabell looked at me and sighed in disappointment. "Huh? You don't even know what I want?"

"Of course not! How should I know what you want, that you would even suddenly attack me!" She sighed again, "well since you begged me to tell you I'll answer."

"Who the hell begged!" I shouted at her but as if she didn't hear me, she continued talking.

"I came here simply because I wanted to test if the rumors of you being a SS class student were real. You were able to dodge my surprise attack but that alone can't tell anything. But base on your reaction awhile ago I can tell that the rumor might have some truth in it." So it was my foolish reaction that led me to this kind of situation, but if I didn't dodge I'll get wounded so there really was no choice. I wonder what she would have done if I didn't dodge. "So what do you want to do now that you know?" Clarabell smiled wryly at me

"Well nothing much but it seems like you want to keep this a secret so I have a request. If you do as I say I will keep this a secret but if you don't I might let something slip."

"So what is your request?"

"I simply want to have a duel with the so called strongest student."

I reluctantly agreed with Clarabell and snuck out of the dorm to the field beside it. This field seems to be like the training ground for the f class students, I looked at Clarabell she stood there weaponless. Was she going to challenge me to a fist fight? Just as I was thinking as such she plunged her hand inside her body directly into her heart. "What?!" I was surprised at her movement but then I saw that there was no blood, instead what came out was a rapier of pure silver.

Clarabell took a stance "Now its your turn Gabriel draw out your binded weapon."

"Huh whats that? How do I do that?" I looked at her confused and she looked at me in the same way. "Wait you haven't done the blessing yet?"

"The blessing? What's that got to do with this?"

I asked her she then eased her body up and mumbled to herself while looking astonished.

"You've done the admissions test without a binded weapon? You even acquired the greatest rank of SS with an ordinary weapon." She then started laughing as if in a trance. "This is great! So draw your weapon Gabriel even without a binded weapon I don't think this could be called a disadvantage for you right?!"

What the hell is she talking about I don't even have any memory regarding how to fight. I sighed, well there's no other way might as well do what she wants. I drew the blunted weapons that uncle gave me, and once again I felt that nostalgic feeling. I took the stance I was most comfortable with like Sir Layfon taught me.

What the hell is this! the boy Gabriel took a stance? I'm not sure sincehe was simply standing there his weapons pointing toward the ground. Yet this motion made me shiver to my core. It was a frightening stance, impossible to read.

"Incredible as expected of the one and only SS class student." Though I was keeping my arrogant attitude in front of him, I was actually scared deep inside. How shameful of me to actually feel fear!

"Well then let's begin Gabriel." I pierced my rapier eternal frost at Gabriel. A beam of ice come out from the tip. This was a surprise attack seeing the distance between us, usually people who know nothing of binded weapons wouldn't expect a long range attack coming from a rapier. But even with this kind of surprise attack Gabriel dodged with the thinnest of margins. So that didn't work but it was still expected, if I fought with a normal weapon I would have lost. Then allow me to show, the true worth of the binded weapons. "Answer my call eternal frost."

"Answer my call eternal frost." When Clarabell shouted those words. A sudden burst of light enveloped her. When the light receded Clarabell lost her silver rapier but was now wearing a shining silver armor and in her hand was a rapier made of ice.

The air felt cold as she spoke, "this is the true worth of the blessing of binded weapons! Using magic without casting, becoming one with the weapon itself showing the truth of ones heart!"

Clarabell was shouting but everything she was saying meant no sense to me except that she and her weapon became one. She moved and to my surprise her movement speed went up three times from the last time, but still I could see it. I dodged her forward thrust by a thin margin. Though I dodged the rapier I felt that the side of my cheek was freezing.

I ignored the cold that was sticking to my cheek and counter attacked at her opening. My sword hit the armor and it broke, my sword actually broke. I wasn't even using that much strength and it broke upon contact with the armor.

Even with my binded weapon's armor which increases all my physical stats, he was still able to evade. If that wasn't surprising enough he was even able to counter attack.

If he was using a binded weapon instead of those blunted swords he would have won already... No I shouldn't think like that! While I was thinking I continued my assault but none of my attacks where connecting. On the other hand Gabriel was dodging with ease he didn't counter anymore instead it seems like he was deep in thought...! Damn is he saying that I'm not even worth paying attention to.

How do I get through her armor? My sword will break the instant I touch it... Hmmm what should I do?... Then same as with the fight against sir Layfon images of something came floating in my mind. I don't know what they were but it felt like those images was the thing I needed right now, but I really can't make out what I saw. So what to do? While I was thinking I noticed that Clarabell's speed was dropping. No it's more accurate to say that her speed was reverting back to what it was before. So that means there's a time limit.

I could wait for her to lose stamina but for some reason I feel that it would be better to win in a head on collision... Well whatever lets just do what feels right.

Gabriel kept on dodging my attacks as if it was nothing. I can't prolong this form any longer. The next shot will be my last. How shameful, I actually need to use that technique I was saving for that rematch with the S class student Tenri. To actually use it at a person who doesn't even have a binded weapon. But to lose this way was even more shameful. As I was readying my attack a sudden flash of white passed by my vision.

Clarabell seems like she's about to use a big move so this will be my last chance to win fairly. Its now or never! I swung my sword as fast as I could and hit her body with the flat side of the blade. If I couldn't slice then might as well attack like this. It hit her and made her body fly a few feet away. The body armor disappeared and Clarabell laid there unconscious.

"Ummm what do I do now?" I guess i have no other choice I'll just carry her back to the dorms.
