35 Best Friend

The water dragon laughed. "You devour me? That's an impossibility human."

The water dragon lunged at me and Luaria we jumped onto the back of its body.

'Lauria give me a long sword with a scabbard. Lauria did as I told her and passed me with a long sword in its scabbard'.

I slashed at the dragon's scales with my full speed and power. Upon contact with the scales, the long sword broke. The same as Clarabell's armor his scales are too hard. I shouted at my companions.

"How long are you going to stay there in a daze!"

Upon hearing my shout my two companions snapped out of their daze. On the other hand, Joshua was still murmuring Rita's name.

"Richard bring Joshua to a safe place, and Clarabell turn into your unbinded state, quickly freeze the lake." The two swiftly did as they were told. On freezing the lake the water dragon's mobility was sealed for a moment before he broke the ice with pure brute strength.

"Clarabell keep on freezing the lake! As long as you are in your unbinded state keep on freezing it." Clarabell did as she was told.

"Foolish humans you think this is enough to stop me." The water dragon took a deep breath and then expelled water from its mouth. The water hit a huge rock before reaching me. The huge rock turned to dust. If I get hit by that it will really hurt. I evaded the attack, Lauria create a lot of spears pass some to me and throw the others at the dragon.

Lauria did as she was told. A hundred spears where created. She threw some at the water dragon. On contact, the spears shattered. I did the same at first I tried to hit different spots. When all of the spears where thrown I asked Lauria to create more but this time sharper and more durable.

Lauria complied, now instead of throwing at different spots, I concentrated at a single spot. The water dragon roared a spear was finally able to breach its defenses.

"Humans! To actually harm me how shameful. I will not stand for this." While saying this the water dragon started chanting in an unknown language. Master that's divine magic, a special class magic that only a few select races can use. The next attack will be greater than any other. The water dragon finished chanting.

"Clarabell run!" I screamed at Clarabell. The frozen lake started to tremble, the ice then started to break. The lake pump upwards forming a tsunami heading towards me and my companions. Clarabell stabbed her rapier into the ground I and Lauria did the same.

The tsunami was engulfing us. Richard and Joshua where a little far off and in higher ground so hopefully they can survive. The Tsunami was incomparable to the gush of water the F class students used on me. It's not stopping? Master the spell the water dragon used will continue until we die. Shit, I need a way to control the water flow. Then it hit me Lauria make a giant weapon and break the ground create a very large crater.

Do it now Lauria! Lauria did as she was told she reproduced a giant mace and with it smashed the ground. the water flowed downward. Lauria destroy another portion of the land beside the crater and trap the water underground. Lauria did so and the water was sealed. I looked at the surrounding area.

Clarabell was panting heavily but still alive. The trees that were surrounding the area disappeared, the lake was gone as well. The place now looked like a desert. From the distance, I saw Richard carrying Joshua. They were fine as well, then I finally noticed. What happened to the water dragon? As the thought passed my mind I heard the water dragon's voice.

"Very impressive Human to survive my attack. I give you my heartfelt praise." I looked at where the voice originated. There I saw not the twenty-five meter snake but a tall man with horns similar to the water dragon. He was wearing a blue scale armor, his eyes and hair were the color of azure. He held a two-handed sword in his left hand. He had a smug look that invited irritation.

"Who are you?" I asked honestly. "Really foolish human. Do you not know what your own opponent looks like. But wait, calling you an opponent seems too much of an exaggeration. A proper description would be a predator to its prey." The irritating way of talking that looks down on others this must be the water dragon. "Ha! For looking down on us so much I didn't expect you to take the same form as a human." I said to him sarcastically. The water dragon smirked before answering.

"This is why I call humans foolish and ignorant. How can you say it is not you humans that copied this form? I have lived longer than the human race as a whole. This was one form we take cause being too big has its own problems." "So you plan to take us on in that form?" "Yes, I have concluded that this is the best form to deal with your speed. It's been awhile since I last used this form. So let me test it out."

He was looking at Clarabell. I was going to shout at Clarabell to evade but I was too late. The water dragon was beside Clarabell. He punched her in the gut. With that one punch, the armor broke! The armor that I had difficulty breaking broke so easily. The water dragon was about to send a second attack but before he could do that I threw a spear at him. He jumped backward to evade. Lauria quickly take Clarabell and send her out of the barrier. I won't last long bare-handed so come back quickly. Yes, master! "Richard! Bring Joshua out of the barrier protect Clarabell and Joshua from there."

"What about you Gabriel?!" "I'll finish him first and call for you guys so that we can see the stone of truth together." "No Gabriel! I can't leave you here, how can I call myself your friend if I leave you here?!" I smiled at Richard the kindest smile I could muster.

"Sorry Richard truth is with this kind of opponent you'll just be getting in my way. So please protect those two instead, also Richard even if it's not today I know someday you'll reach a level where you can properly guard my back. I consider you my best friend after all, or are you saying you don't believe in me?" Richard gnashed his teeth irritated at his own weakness.

"I promise Gabriel I'll get stronger enough to guard your back. Also, I believe in you. If it's you I believe that even the sky can be cut!" That line same as my dream. After saying that Richard retreated. I faced the water dragon and smiled viciously, "how kind of you to actually wait for me to finish speaking."

The water dragon shrugged "call it the magnanimity of the strong. Same as the lover of that coward that will be the last time you can talk to your friend in this world." My smile grew fiercer as ever with that statement. "Pretty confident are you? You're stating that there is absolutely no way I can win! Is that it!"

"It's obvious the weak will always be the prey of the strong." "Hahaha, that's fun then your saying you are my prey?" "What are you saying foolish human it's the other way around." Lauria returned to my side. Lauria no more need for tricks turn into twin blades the strongest kind that you are able to turn into. As you wish my master. Lauria transformed into two beautiful twin blades but not the black and blue blades that I always dream about. Though not comparable to the black and blue blades, still these blades were pretty good. "It seems like we will never reach an understanding. So let battle decide who is stronger!" I charged forward into the water dragon's field.

I was sitting outside the barrier Clarabell was unconscious, Joshua was in no condition to fight. Damn it! I feel so frustrated my best friend is in danger and I can't do anything about it! Damn it! Damn it! Why am I so weak. This weakness! So irritating! Can I really do nothing? Then I remembered my binded weapon. If it's this weapon I might be able to help Gabriel. Even though I failed a lot of times right now I'm sure I can do it! My best friend is waiting for me!

I entered the water dragon's range. I was about to attack but I felt that I needed to dodge to the side. I did as my instincts dictated. There I saw that the water dragon slashed. If I had moved a second later I would've died.

The water dragon looked at me shocked. "Amazing human you were actually able to evade that. Among your kind you are the very first to dodge my strike completely." Even though he praised me it was purely based on my instinct that I was able to dodge. I really couldn't see the strike coming. I have seen different speeds before, that strike wasn't particularly fast. It simply accelerated midway. There was no indication that he would slash but he did. I took my natural stance. I breathed steadily and waited for him to move.

Water dragon's thoughts:

This human is interesting especially that stance of his. Even in my own race or the Gods, I have never face an opponent who uses such a stance. No openings he's cautious of me. He cannot attack as long as he doesn't understand my speed. Yet if I attack him I would definitely get injured. What a pleasant human this is.

The water dragon didn't move did he read my move? Well, whatever let's go Lauria and kick that guy's ass. Yes, master! I charged at the water dragon again. I concentrated to my utmost. I saw it the sword slash I was able to block it with my own sword. It was a pretty heavy attack so I blocked it with both my blades. I released his sword from the deadlock it swung upward. With this, there was an opening I pierced using my left sword.

He was able to block it then with no interval I slashed vertically with my right sword. Even that was blocked! No time to think I need to move faster I need to attack faster. There must be no intervals in my attack give him no chance to counter. Go in full assault.

Water dragon's thoughts:

This human is pretty good. Not only did he evade my attack he even blocked one of my strikes. Now he's even stopping me from attacking with a high-speed attack. Incredible, his speed, strength, and skill are beyond what I know of human capabilities. Too bad his only human.

I was attacking relentlessly but none of my attacks can get past his defense. Then it suddenly happened he swung his sword upwards. I blocked it but it was no use the attack was too great. I instinctively jumped backward to lessen the damage I flew a few meters away. When I was about to land I felt a strong pain from my back. It was burning hot I looked behind the water dragon was there. He slashed me I wasn't able to evade. It hurts but before he could initiate another attack I rotated my body and kicked him at full power.

He blocked using his blade he skidded a few meters. But now even my leg was bleeding. This will reduce my speed. Master I'm sorry because of me you can't use your full strength. Don't worry Lauria we can still turn the tables. The water dragon was quick to regain his balance and was already beside me. I tried to dodge but he was able to pierce my left shoulder. "That was an amazing fight human. To think I was forced by a human to use my real strength. But this is the end." The water dragon raised his sword.

I raised my sword and was about to swing it at the human. I looked at him the fox mask he was wearing broke there I saw him smiling such a fearless smile. How could he smile like that I wonder? Had he gone insane? No that wasn't a smile of someone who lost his sanity that was a smile of pure joy. I swung my sword downwards. I cut the human in half. Instead of blood splattering, only an afterimage remained. Then I turned to look for him and what I saw was a hundred humans wearing the same fox mask that broke.

This must be an illusion, I didn't feel their presence coming near me. Yet now that I see them in front of me I can really sense them. I can even hear their heartbeat and smell their blood. How is this possible "Such a neat trick human!"

I lost consciousness for a minute when I regained my senses I saw Richard carrying me. We were running. "Richard?" "You're awake Gabriel, we need to retreat for now we can't face that dragon as we are now!" Richard placed me down and explained the situation to me.

"NO! Sorry Richard but I won't run. Something inside me doesn't want to run. It screaming at me telling me to never run." "Gabriel! Even if you say that there is no way we can win now." Lauria turned back to her human formed and spoke.

"No there is a way. Master can't use all his strength because he's afraid of breaking me. But if I turn into my unbinded state Master will win! I'm sure of it."

"Now that's what I'm talking about Lauria. But why are you only telling me this now?" Lauria looked downcast for a moment then look at me full of resolve. Her once neutral expression was filled with different expression today.

"The reason I didn't tell you master is because of the side effect. Once in my unbinded state master's already inhuman abilities will increase tenfold plus all your wounds before the unbinding, will heal but only during the unbinded state. Also, the world or reality will change while in my unbinded state. It will change into whatever world suites master's personality. It will send as to a different dimension. In this form, I cannot speak to master. The downside to this move is that it will put great stress on master's mind and body. Once the time limit of my unbinded state comes to pass, and I return to my binded state. The recoil master will receive will most probably have him immobilized for about four hours. Before the water dragon could approach I finished the chant. "One body, one soul, one weapon!" The water dragon stopped the world around us changed. The bright moon was out everywhere you looked in the ground was full of weapons. Weapons of different sizes and different designs and those I do not know that existed were here. From Legendary, mystical, demonic, and holy weapons. Everything was here except for the twin blades that I always dream about. I took one sword that was stabbed in the ground and exclaimed to my opponent. "This is where the real battle begins!"
