15 Authors Note

This is just the mind map I created for Before We Met.

Fun fact: 1) I wanted to name it Dreamcatcher, but forgot the name and ended up naming it Before We Met.

2) When I first started off this story, it was for myself and the mc was male, he had a brother and dreamed of this beautiful fairy-like girl. But due to contest requirements, I changed the mc to a girl, Vanessa, and for a long time I found everything that was happening a bit off because I'd planned it out for a Male mc. But I think it worked out well. I'm proud of this story. :)

Anyway, here's the mind map, chapter by chapter. :

*intro Vanessa. No sleep. Professor Grant gives bit of backstory. She sees Jesse in her dreams.

*avoids Professor Grant. Intro bff Matt (which was the first name supplied by the suggestion tab lol). Matt and V slight backstory. Go to bar. Falls asleep and dreams again. Hits Jesse with rock.

*rosie drunk. Tells v about grandma jane who had same dreams. Doesn't dream of Jesse anymore. Worried. Gets detention. Gets caught by pg and ends up attending a session.

*therapy session. Relives childhood. Dreams about a book with pictures of her childhood on it. Throws it away.

*goes to college, goes to a conference of her sister's and falls asleep. Finally sees boy again. This time they talk. She meets an old friend who Matt doesn't like because the guy was his sister's ex. Vanessa finds it cute he's so protective but it's later revealed he doesn't like him because the guy now likes vanessa. Vanessa has another dream at night where she talks to him some more and gets a lot of info about him.

* begins to think he's a real person. Tries to find him. Has another session with her sister. In her dream she finds the book of pics and hides it from Jesse.

Talks to PG n asks him if rosie ever mentioned anything about their grandma's dreams?

She finds out that it's a genetic super power almost. Tries to explain it to Matt, he doesn't understand.

She tells Jesse, he understands.

*when rosie is in a hypnotic state, she reveals that their dad is alive. Vanessa gets upset that she hid it from her. Goes to Matt and tells him, Matt finally feels more intimate with her than Harvey as she doesn't go to him. He tells her it was what her sis thought was best so don't blame her. Jesse begins looking off into the distance now and then. Harvey is leaving. Tells Matt he likes her but will never act on it because she's better off with Matt.

*rosie forces v to go under hypnosis. She relives their childhood. She starts crying again and doesn't eat anything. She ignores Jesse's attempts to talk to her. She begins falling sick because of her restless sleep.

*she's running again and faints. Has a dream that's all blurry n glitchy. When she wakes up, Allie tells her she's been out for 2 hours.

She remembers her mom when she was dying n sickly n sees her sister crying n its all too much, she vomits blood.

admitted in the hospital.

* matt tells her he needs to go to Germany for a year. V decides to call her dad and talk to him to get over her fear. When she calls, he's rude and asks for money so she cuts the call.

She decides to confess to jesse. Sarah pesters her to join the track team.

* v begins avoiding college n bunking classes n pg tells Rosie who talks to her n says running was our special thing but now we don't have to have the same emotions attached to it anymore. That she can run for fun.

She confesses to Jesse who rejects her saying I'm waiting for someone n then walks off saying " found her". Says she will keep fighting for him. She joins the track team.

* a year later Harvey comes to her graduation with allie and seth n rosie. Matt calls her to Germany for a short visit. She tells him Jesse isn't coming in her dreams anymore n that he rejected her. Rosie informs v that she's getting married n says she can meet her beau when she's back. Matt n vanessa come back together.

*she meets Jesse as Rosie's fiance. Vanessa decides not to interfere and to let Rosie have this one thing.

She tells Matt n he confesses to her, telling her how she changed his life n she says sorry I only see you as a friend. Harvey sees this n talks to her n then she tells Matt that if he grows taller than her by the next new year, she'll kiss him.

Epilogue: new year's 2020. Matt is still shorter than vanessa but after countdown she still kisses him and asks him out.

Extra: Vanessa tells Creevey to sleep at the exact same time as she does. Then she thinks very hard of how badly she wants him there and he comes. She shows him her world and concentrates and tries to make butterflies but ends up making a single bird. But Matt appreciates her n says it's remarkable.
