10 Kærasta

We all piled into a room in a single file line as Alistair threw clothes at me.

"Change. Now."

Instantly I looked at Alistair and glared before discarding my shirt. At that moment, a growl that I've never heard, erupted from him, causing everyone to freeze.

"EVERYONE! OUT," was all I heard before I was practically slammed into a bookcase, dropping the clothes as my front side squished against the shelves; Alistair pinned me in as everyone vacated the small space.

The moment the door clicked, I felt Alistair's chest rumble against my back.

"What do you think you're doing," he snapped, his mouth close to my ear and once again he's holding my wrists with gloved hands.

"You told me to change. If you don't want me doing something, stop using your fucking commands on me," I fumed, pushing back against him.

Alistair growled once again as he pushed away from me, leaving my backside exposed to the cool air as he threw something across the room.

Before my mind could register the action, the sound of glass shattering caused my breath to hitch as I looked over my shoulder at the scene behind me.

The smashed glass that was once a vase lay scattered on the floor like a thousand tiny daggers, the light from the hearth violently shining off them.

Before I could reach down and grab the commodious tunic, Alistair was back behind me, one arm snaked around my waist, the other holding both of my wrists above my head, neither hand gloved now.

There's that static again. That crackling in the air that seemed to happen ever since we were in the village. I gasped at the electrical current that, at that moment, shot through me causing me to shiver at his touch.

I could feel Alistair press against my backside as he leaned down and whispered in my ear, "you're mine."

I stopped breathing for a moment as I relished his touch and warmth in his words.

"You're infuriating and yet," Alistair paused as he nibbled on my earlobe, "irresistible." He said this as his hold on me became tighter to the point it was hard to breathe.

"I don't want anyone else to see you like this, kærasta," Alistair all but purred in my ear, making me shake.

I gasped when Alistair's lips found their way to the unmarked spot causing me to arch against him. He growled as he buried his face in the sacred location.

Oh Gods, why?

"You are mine," he breathed, lips tracing the sensitive flesh.

I wanted to melt and become a puddle at his touch alone.

"I'm not anyone's," I say with a shaky breath, slowly coming down from my bestial high.

"Oh but you are mine," Alistair stated as he lapped at the spot between my neck and shoulder causing my backside to push against him harder.

"No I'm not," I breathed, trying to steady myself and heartbeat.

Squeezing me tighter, Alistair sighed as he came back to my ear.

"Seeing as you're my mate, yes kærasta, you are."

I snapped out of whatever stupor I was in and jerked my hands away from his grasp, turning to face him. Alistair was so close that when I turned around, our lips nearly touched.

Alistair blotched back into focus, his eyes black as he pressed against me. As he leaned in closer, a cough caught both of our attention causing his eyes to instantaneously go from black to dark honey.

The moment they did, Alistair looked down at me and instantly jumped back causing me to immediately cover my chest before we both looked in the direction the cough came from.

In the doorway stood the man who was escorting my sister earlier, and he seemed extremely bored.

"Alpha. If you're ready," was all he said before Alistair looked at me, his gaze speaking volumes as I quickly changed.

***

I sat there in front of Alistair with my arms crossed and slouched as he spoke. Most of it was pack related until he looked at me, eyes narrowing.

"Am I boring you, Noir," he questioned, his voice harder than before.

Rolling my eyes, I huff and look away, keeping my mouth shut.

When I didn't respond, Alistair sighed.

"Anyways. Noir. Triaa. This is my Beta, Nebo Ryder. Both of you have already met him; Triaa, as Nebo and Noir, as Nomad."

He looked at me blankly before propping against his desk. "Valenner will watch over you, Triaa, until you're initiated into the pack."

My sister nodded, a glimmer of curiosity flashing in her eyes. The thought of Snowball watching my sister irked me.

"And you," Alistair deadpanned as he looked at me. "Cuyler will watch over you."

"At least it's not you," I rolled my eyes again, still pouting from my spot in front of him.

When Alistair didn't respond, I looked at him but all he did was stare at me with the most bored expression.

"Stop looking at me," I piped.

When he didn't, I couldn't help myself; I brought a finger up to my face and placed it right under my eye and 'pulled' the skin down and stuck my tongue out at him like a child.

Alistair once again raked a hand down his face before continuing.

"Triaa. You will be staying at the main pack house. It's where I shelter my Beta, Delta and Gamma, along with a few others."

This caught my attention causing me to perk up and sit straight before Alistair shot me a pointed look.

"You will be staying here in the room appointed to you."

"Nope. No. No, no. Hell no. I'm not staying here," I said, arms crossed long again.

"I already told you I'm not staying here. I'm going where my sister goes."

Alistair growled as he leaned forward. "Yes, you are."

"No, I'm not."

"It's not up for discussion, Noir. You're staying here," Alistair all but shouted causing whatever sound that might be in the room, to die.

"Stop being stubborn," River chimed in.

"If I wanted your opinion, I would ask," I snapped at her.

"You're acting like a wee pup that's not getting their way."

"Shut up already."

While I was distracted with River, Alistair had discussed some other things and excused my sister and his Beta.

When I snapped back, I looked around dumbfounded before it registered that I was alone with Alistair and some other guy.

I didn't even acknowledge the other guy as I stared at Alistair.

Noticing both my annoyance and confusion, Alistair leaned back in his chair, plopped his feet up on his desk and placed his hands behind his head.

I really wish he would stop fucking doing that. It makes it hard to focus and the smell of these clothes he has me wearing doesn't help me any.

"Valenner is unavailable at the moment so Nebo is going to watch over Triaa in the meantime and escort her to her quarters at the Pack House," Alister began, emphasizing "pack house" like the word was foreign to me.

"Cuyler will escort you to your quarters here."

Glaring at him, I looked to my right to see the guy he called "Cuyler" idley leaning against the wall. He wasn't a bad looking man, standing almost as tall as Alister and every bit muscular.

Cuyler however was bald with a very distinguishable scar raking diagonally down his face and from what I could tell, had brownish green eyes which intrigued me.

I guess I stared too long because Alister growled, snapping my attention back to him. Before he could say anything, I shot up with enough force that my chair skidded across the floor and bolted towards the open door only to be plucked off the ground by muscular hands.

"Stop being defiant, Noir," Alister said from across the room.

"It will be so much easier on everyone if you just listen."

I let out a frustrated growl as I dangled from Cuyler's side like a child's toy.

This is ridiculous.

"You're ridiculous," River quipped, sounding equally annoyed as Alister.

Before I was able to argue, I was carried away. Where I was going I had no clue as I watched the floor.

It wasn't until a door opened, and I was dropped that I realized I was in a room.

"Don't try running," was all that was said before the door to the room shut with a sharp click.
