17 Gavrill

Triaa's POV

Well, shit.

Looking around the crowd, I somehow lost Noir but before I could search for her, strong arms wrapped around me, electrifying my body.

Valenner.

Kiba purred at her mate's touch as I turned to face him.

"I thought you were coming with Alistair," I questioned, looking around.

"Yet there is no Alistair."

Valenner shrugged as he looked around.

"Weren't you supposed to come with Noir," he questioned, stepping back with a smile.

"Yet there is no Noir."

I just stared at him with the blankest expression I could possibly muster.

"I'm sure she will be fine," Valenner said, placing an arm over my shoulder.

You don't know Noir. She has probably already gotten into some kind of situation, I thought to myself before nodding.

Valenner guided me to a bench after grabbing two mugs.

We sat in comfortable silence for awhile before a song came on causing me to perk up and look in the direction in which it was coming from.

Catching my movement, Valenner looked in the direction I was staring as he stood and offered me his hand. "Shall we then?"

We weaved in and around villagers on our way to the dance circle but as we broke through the crowd, Valenner stopped dead in his tracks causing me to as well.

"What is it," I asked before following his line of sight.

Before us was Noir dancing with Alistair?

Something about Alistair seemed different. His clothes alone didn't look like something he would wear and he was both dancing and singing?

Looking at the two, I dropped my head to the side in confusion and pointed.

"What in the Gods' name am I looking at," I stupidly questioned.

"Noir, I can understand. She can be a drunken idiot but Alistair? That's just... unsettling."

"That's because that isn't Alistair. That idiot is his brother," Valenner growled in frustration.

"I didn't know he had a brother," I retorted watching the Alistair look-alike.

"Twin brother to be exact."

Now it made sense. It's so rare for twins or even triplets to be born that it doesn't normally cross anyone's mind.

"Alistair isn't going to like this," I whispered before Valenner's head shot to the crowd behind Noir.

The crowd parted as Alistair stormed down the makeshift aisle, his eyes literally glowing.

Speak of the devil.

I looked back at Noir but her demeanor changed. She was looking at Alistair's twin like she finally realized who the man was in front of her before her back collided with a very angry Alistair.

Valenner and I pushed our way through the rest of the crowd so we were on the inside of the circle. On the other side of the circle was Beta Nebo and Delta Cuyler.

"Gavrill," Alistair snarled, drawing my attention back to the scene that was before us.

Ah, there we go. That's more like it.

Alistair was wearing a leather sleeve on his right arm that went almost up to his shoulder. It was held in place by a leather strap that was buckled over his left peck.

The rest of his upper body was left bare for all to see. He wore dark pants with dark brown knee calf high boots and around his waist was a leather studded thatch.

Looking between the two, I mentally groaned in annoyance there was any confusion.

"Brother! Nice to see you again. What brings you down from your home to mingle," Gavrill teased causing Alistair to tense.

"Gavrill. What do you think you're doing with your Luna," Alistair questioned, growing more annoyed by the minute.

Gavrill laughed as he rocked back and forth on his heels like a small child.

"She technically isn't my Luna yet. Besides, I was having fun. No harm done, yeah?"

Alistair took a step forward but Noir stopped him causing another wave of laughter from Gavrill.

"Down boy. You don't want to ruin your mate's special night, do you," Gavrill taunted before turning his back to his brother.

As he walked off, he looked over his shoulder and winked at Noir.

"See you again, dear," he piped, disappearing into the crowd.
