15 First Date

(Clary's Pov)

"Clary you look gorgeous," Jace says smiling. I put my head down because I start blushing.

"Th-Thank you," I say while hiding my face. He extends his hand for me to take. I grab his hand and wave Izzy bye. She closes the door behind us and we make our way downstairs. As we walk downstairs, I notice that Jace is wearing a button up shirt with black pants. As I'm looking him up and down, he turns his head and smirks.

"Do you like what you see?" He asks while he wiggles his eyebrows. I just nod my head and blush.

I quickly change the subject and I ask "Where are we going?" I start walking towards the driver side of my car when Jace tells me no and brings me to the passenger's side.

I get in the car and then he says "It's a surprise." He gets in the car and turns it on.

"Please tell me I hate surprises," I whine giving him puppy dog eyes and a quivered lip. He just laughs and nods his head no.

I lay my head on the seat and look out the window waiting for us to get to the location. After about 20 minutes we finally got to the location. I tried to open the door, but he leaned over and pulled it closed. I look at him with a confused look to see him smiling. He gets out of the car and runs over to my side and opens it for me. I get out of the car smiling and when he closes the door I stand up on my tippy toes and kiss his cheek. I look up to see that we are at a skating rink, I got so happy I haven't been Ice skating since my mom died. I used to go with my mom all the time until I moved in with Valentine after she died. Once I moved in with Valentine and Jonathan, I got so busy with training and being beaten up for not doing things correctly. We finally get to the place and it's empty.

"Where is everyone," I ask looking at him.

He kisses my cheek and says "I rented it for just us." I got so happy I just can't believe he did this for us. We went over to the counter to grab our shoes. He goes behind the counter and grabs his shoes. "What size are you?" Jace asks.

"I'm a size 6," I say sitting down. He grabs our shoes and he sits down next to me. We put on our shoes and make our way to the rink. We get in and as soon as we get on the ice Jace starts to struggle. I start to giggle.

"What's so funny?" He asks, looking at me.

"It's just I thought you knew how to skate," I say smiling. I grab his hand and bring him out into the middle. He almost falls forward, but I move in front of him and grab his other hand to help him with his balance. "Here I'll help you," I say, teasing him a bit.

Jace then gives me a look and then says "I don't need help."

I just nod my head while saying "Oh-Oh ok so do you want me to let go." He just nods, I let go and he keeps his balance. He actually took a few steps before he fell forward.

I lean down next to him and I ask "You want me to kiss it and make it better." He just nods his head and says "Yea, I think that would be good." I lean in and kiss him; he smiles into the kiss which makes me smile too.

We pull away and I help him up. "I think I need a break. I'll go over to the wall," Jace says, trying to get to the side.

"Okay then," I say. I start going forward getting the speed. Once I have my speed, I lift up one of my legs and bring the rest of my body down with my left hand out. I start to lose my balance a bit so I put my leg down and straighten my body. I start speeding up again, but this time I jump up into the air and land on my foot with my other leg out. I stay that way for a little bit until I lose my balance. When I straighten myself out, I go over to Jace to see him with his mouth wide open.

"How did you do that?" Jace asks with a surprised face.

I just shrug my shoulders and say "I used to ice skate all the time with my mom until Valentine killed her." I say grabbing his hand.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry Clary if you want, we can leave," Jace says giving her a sad look. I move closer to him and put my hand on his cheek. I then give him a peck on the lips and when I pull away, I smile.

"No, this is perfect. I haven't had this much fun in a long time. Thank you so much I love you," I say hugging him, Jace then kisses my head. I finally manage to pull Jace back on the ice.

After a 1 hour he started getting better and at one point I let go and watched him do laps around the rink. We kept skating for a few more hours and when we finally left it was around 12:00am. When we got back Izzy came down screaming, she then grabbed my hand and pulled me upstairs. When we get in her room, she pushes me on the bed and closes the door. She grabs a makeup wipe and gives it to me then she sits down next to me. I start to take off my make up and take out the braids in my hair.

"How was your date," Izzy asks.

"It was amazing he took me ice skating and the last time I went was when my mom was still alive. When he kept falling, I found it so funny and he got pissed. So, after a little break, I taught him how to skate," I say starting to giggle.

"Wow, he would never do something that he does not know how to do," Izzy says, smirking. I'm so happy with Jace. I never thought I would be so happy, whenever I think about him, I can't help but smile. After a little bit longer of talking, she tells me she's going to go to sleep and then I just nod. I walk out of the room and make my room to Jace's. Well, I got in. He's already asleep so I take out a big hoodie and some sweatpants. I go into the bathroom and change, then I make my way over to the other side of Jace's bed and lay down. As soon as I get in and out the covers on me, I feel Jace's arm wrap around my waist, pulling me closer. I lay my head on his chest and I immediately fell asleep.
