39 Court Guard

[One Week Later]

"Now commencing the trial of former captain Gin Ichimaru. After reviewing your case, we have determined your crime is treason and committing terrorist acts. Due to the testimony from Second Division, Third Seat, Orihime Inoue, Gin Ichimaru shall be exiled for 100 years to live in the Rukongai."

Gin was wearing a plain white kimono and simply nodded. The court had more on their agenda, like sentencing Aizen, so he quickly exited and rejoined Rangiku and Orihime. Gin had slowly been adjusting to suddenly arriving in the future. Although not physically, having only memories of himself as a child, it felt as if he was suddenly thrust forward in time.

"Orihime, thank you again for everything. If not for you, I'm afraid that Gin may have been…"

Gin reached out and patted Rangiku's back. She had taken care of him for the whole week he was unconscious, and when he saw her at first, Gin thought she was Rangiku's mother. After realizing what had happened, he inexplicably became more attached to her. The only thing he felt after waking was confusion, and an indescribable feeling for Rangiku.

"It's what I needed to do! I am just glad that you will be able to stay close together. I'd love to go celebrate, but captain Soi Fon has pushed all her paperwork to me."

"Congratulations again on becoming the third seat. Once things calm down, we should get everyone together and have a party."

Orihime left to perform her duties as the new corps commander of the detention unit. Her outfit was drastically different from before. She now wore a keisen shozoku which was identical to Yoruichi and Soi Fon's.

Its backless and sleeveless design is unique in order to perform Shunko without blasting away the fabric when high-density Kido is accumulated at the shoulders, back, and arms. Although this was only approved for the corps commander, an exception was made since Orihime fights mainly with Shunko and Reikoromo.

Over the outfit, she wore a black haori, and black fingerless gloves up to her elbow. Her hair was done in a single braid to avoid it getting in her face. She quickly and silently moved toward the secret entrance to the detention unit. When she arrived, she did a few hand signals to alert the hidden Onmitsukido members and proceeded to enter the nest of maggots.

Soi Fon had tasked her with completing all of the paperwork related to the recent events as well as managing the detention unit as the third seat. Her bankai was deemed extremely useful for interrogation and punishment so the captain-commander naturally favored her placement in second division.

'This is exactly what I wanted to avoid. Soi Fon has me running around doing errands for both her and Omaeda. I can tell she is still upset about the Yoruichi incident. Fortunately, I am quite skilled in sewing so I plan to make her a cat-Yoruichi plush doll as a peace offering.'

Orihime sat in her office and smirked. There were currently no prisoners here so her job was simply paperwork and running errands. Orihime planned to make a bid for captain once things settled down and Yamamoto tried to fill the empty seats. For now, she just needed to accumulate experience and improve her bankai.

After finishing her work for today, she headed towards the second divisions training area where Soi Fon was waiting for her. Part of the requirement for receiving approval to wear the keisen shozoku, which is considered a symbol of the captain in division two, was to teach her reikoromo. In turn, Soi Fon would help Orihime master Shunko.

When Orihime arrived, Soi Fon was already waiting with her haori off. Orihime could tell that she was attempting to create it just from the memory of having seen it once. The spirit particles being drawn towards here were obvious to Orihime, but it seemed that Soi Fon was still having trouble.

"Captain."

"Inoue, show it to me again. I almost have it figured out."

"Yes, captain."

Orihime removed the haori and quickly formed her reikoromo which now resembled a long sleeved haori to match her outfit. The spirit particles were a lot denser than when she first invented it. It was practically identical to plain cloth except for the occasional lightning that would skitter across the surface of the haori.

Orihime swung her fists a few times in the air to demonstrate the power fluctuations. Soi Fon carefully examined it and even struck at the sleeves to see how it reacted. Then she activated Shunko and began to spar with Orihime. Soi Fon had explicitly told her she wasn't allowed to use Shunko until she mastered it.

After a few minutes of exchanging blows, Orihime was excited. Although their power level wasn't too far apart, the sheer amount of experience and refinement in Soi Fon's movement were a great teaching aid. She fully abused this opportunity to learn as much as she could and refine her own style of Hakudo. Soi Fon made up for the difference in her Reiatsu with sheer control, speed and precision.

Orihime's reikoromo broke after receiving a hit in the same location a dozen times. She was surprised that there was such a weakness. Soi Fon realized it so easily and broke the flow. This gave Orihime a chance to contemplate and correct the issue. Soi Fon was already creating something similar but without the benefits of over maximum control, it would be difficult to replicate.

"Thank you for the spar, captain!"

Soi Fon left first so Orihime retreated to her room in the second division barracks. She had moved out of the Kuchiki manor as it wouldn't be appropriate anymore. Rukia had also been reinstated and was the third seat now. Byakuya had allowed her to get a position with higher authority instead of protecting her from danger like before.

Being part of the second division allowed her access to a lot of information. On the paperwork that she completed, there were some documents related to the reinstatement of the Visored's into Soul Society. There was a massive legal challenge that needed to be approved by various parties to acquit them of treason for attaining hollow powers since it was forced on them.

Orihime's plan was to lay low and continue working under Soi Fon until she can control Hanayo no hime better. Worst case scenario she makes her bid early if it seems that Shinji and the others will be reinstated. She had been practicing her Zanjutsu with Hanayo in her inner world as much as possible.

Additionally, she had begun to develop her Kido and barriers in a simple format that could be learned by students. She would use that to help boost her fame. Although she was already very famous among the students and new graduates. After joining the academy for a single semester, she immediately joined the court guards as a seat member.

She did not return to the academy since what happened because of guilt. She planned to wait for her two former teammates to graduate and join a squad before she went to apologize. Hopefully she would be a captain by then. Orihime sat down at her table and pulled out her inkstone and ink well and began grinding it.

While carefully holding her brush, she began writing on a blank piece of paper. The title was 'Future Plans.' Although she did not need to write anything down, Orihime wanted to practice her calligraphy. She was pining for the position of fifth squad captain. However, the captain of fifth squad needed to be an all-rounder in every subject.

Hogyoku had already refined and incorporated the Quincy powers into her body. She made sure to destroy Yhwach's imprint utilizing hogyoku and Hanayo no hime. She believed that this would remove the powers as well, but with hogyoku she was able to replicate Quincy powers with her own blood.

This means she had essentially turned herself into a completely unique progenitor of Quincy and could do something similar to Yhwach. However, she still had a lot of blood to harvest from the remaining Quincy to develop herself enough to form her own bloodline. For now, she had nothing except for a slightly improved control over external spirit particles.

Orihime had used her position as the corps commander of the detention unit to acquire some unique technology that would help her capture a Quincy. This would prove extremely useful when she attempts to bring evidence of their potential threat. She planned to regularly patrol the Soul Society in search of any soldat or jagdarmee members to capture.

She set her calligraphy brush down and put away the papers she wrote on. A lot had happened already and she thought about the future after Yhwach. Orihime was aware of the problem with losing her memories, that is why she only targeted her past life. Perhaps one day she would master her bankai and not need to pay such a steep price.
